34 SSS Rank Quest

"We don't know what it is? It could be more dangerous if we left it, at least we have an idea of what that spell does."

"No, I disagree! The fog is preventing the spell from reaching completion. And I know for a fact that I would always take the fog over chilly underworld winds."

A meeting was held after recent activities. The appearance of fog, the sudden tremors along with the chilly winds of Underworld, and the increase in movement of the Dark Legion, the top Leaders of the planet were worried. Thus they held this meeting to discuss the issues and how to handle it.

Halfway through the discussion, they got a piece of good news; at least for some people, it was good news. The fog was preventing the spell from reaching its completion, and the debate started.

Some were fearing the unknown, they didn't have any knowledge about this mysterious fog, besides the fact that it absorbed and dissipated all the magic. They decided to call it 'Mana Poison Fog'.

Some people were willing to take a chance and delve their hand into the unknowns. Let the fog be free, and spoil the plans of the Dark Legion.

Of course, there were moles from the Dark Legion, and they were determined to complete the spell no matter what. They started to support the idea of destroying the fog and destroying the spell. Of course, they didn't support the latter part of the idea.

"Let's say we somehow removed the fog, what do you plan to do next? Do you know what the spell is, how to stop and what it does?"

One of the rising stars of the younger generation with peerless talent in magic spoke with an annoyed tone. The one he was questioning was an Elder of the Shan Clan and had a higher level than him, but clearly, he had no respect for the man.

Even though he had a higher level than the boy, the Shan clan was less powerful than the boy's clan. He couldn't say anything.

"Hmph." The boy scoffed at the Elder. The Elder could only hold his anger inside while asking,

"So what do you suggest then, Young Master."

"I suggest that we figure out a way to control that fog. Then we will be able to destroy that spell with the fog and manage the fog too. A safe way to do both things."

Even though the Elder wanted to oppose him, he found minimal flaws in his statement. If he were to point those out, he would appear. Childish, he wouldn't be able to show his face to anyone.

"You really are a peerless genius. You've opened my eyes. I support the Young Master, Yansen's idea."

Slowly, but surely most of the clans submitted to the idea of controlling the fog. Everyone knew it inside, the real reasons they wanted to control the fog.

If someone were to be able to control the fog, they would have unparallel powers. The fog could kill anything infused with mana within minutes. If a clan held the fog, not only would they be king of their planet, they would be able to conquer other planets too.

It was a race among the big clans about who would control the fog. The weaker clans had no voice in it. Their job was just to support the Clan they think would win and hope that it would.

For now, there was no immediate danger as the fog seemed to have stopped moving, and the fog restricted the spell.

Yansen stood up as he spoke,

"So then let's begin the first step of our plan."

"First step? What is it?" One of the people there asked.

Swoosh!

There was a flash of brightness in the room before a head was sent flying.

"What are you doing, Young Master Yansen!" The fellow clan members of the Man whose head was sent flying were furious.

"Calm Down, you bunch of morons. Look who you've brought here."

When they looked closely, they realised that it wasn't their clan member but someone else. The Man had disguised himself using Illusion Magic and posed himself as a clan member to attend the meeting and provide intel to the Dark Legion.

"Hmph! Dark Scum, such courage to actually infiltrate the meeting. Looks like the Dark Legion haven't been taking us seriously enough. Kill them all."

More heads sent flying, and the room became full of blood.

"Shouldn't we inform the Light Legon about it?":Somebody asked.

"Hahaha… No need. They are already listening to our conversation. It's just that we haven't killed them as they seem to be on our side."

Some guys gulped saliva as Yasen roamed his eyes around the room. He then walked towards the door with his clan members as he said,

" We will take our leave now. The plan has been decided. And also someone, clean the room. We won't want our future meetings to be held in a smelly place would we"

The weaker Clans were left with a bitter taste in their mouth. It wasn't a meeting for them. Their suggestions weren't even thoroughly assessed.

Inside a dark room full with only a sliver of light coming from above, a silhouette was angry.

"Damn it! Those power-hungry bastards and that fog. Spoiled my entire plan." Controlling his anger after some time, he gave an order to someone.

"Give a Black Quest. A quest to find out the information about the fog and the activity of the Clans.."

"What about the difficulty of the quest, Sir!?"

"Difficulty?... Make it a SS rank. No, make it a SSS rank mission."

The man seemed to be shocked as he asked.

"Sir, I don't think that this mission should be ranked as a SSS mission."

"No, make it SSS rank. And announce it all over the Legion."

"And what about the rewards, Sir?"

"The rewards…. Hehehe… It's..."

Shortly afterwards, an announcement was made in the Dark Legion that shocked everyone.

"Looks like it will be an easy grab for me." Mizar chuckled. What he started had come to benefit him.

"But I will have to prepare something that looks deserving of such hefty rewards."
