Chapter 8

Troublemaker Savant…

Sending everyone a look as I took in the group, I noticed the missing bushy haired goth chick. Leaving that for later, I stood to the side to let the group in, but I stepped forward once it was Ron's turn to enter the room.

"Sorry, but you have to go." I told the teen right to his face blocking his entry to the room.

Ron scowled at me for a bit before huffing. "Come off it, don't be a git."

Yeah, unfortunately for him and that long bearded bastard, I didn't need or want spies around for what was about to happen next.

"Not being a git," I remarked with a smirk. "You're just not allowed in right now, so beat it."

Then before he could react or say anything, I slammed the door shut in his face. A flick of my wrist had my wand in hand weaving privacy and locking spells upon the door. I turned around and noticed my Grandad rolling his eyes as he tried to hide a smug look.

Ignoring him, I waved my wand once more over the group, and of course Harry lit up like a fucking tree. Ted snorted before flicking his wand at Harry, the pin that kept his tie in place flew out and a few other bobs and trinkets. Harry did a rotation in amazement while I couldn't help rolling my eyes at Dumbledore's madness. At least I can give the man points on being paranoid, it just wasn't enough. Then again, with Snape reading everyone's mind, that might be his backup of backups if these listening charms didn't work.

While Ted was putting away the little things that glowed with illumination from the listening charms on them, I took a step closer as I spied something shining a faint blue. Letting out a frustrated sigh, I made a stopping motion to Harry.

"Alright, before we get started there is just one more thing." I commented as I dusted Harry's over robe. Before he or anyone could say anything, I pulled on the blue thread that was sewn into his inner robe.

Holding up the glowing thread really caught the attention of those in the room and they zeroed in on us instantly. Gramps launched out of his seat and Ted took a giant step over to my side. Ted took the glowing thread from my hands and ran his wand over it before turning to show my gramps.

Harry on the other hand was looking a little nonplussed with the whole situation. He looked around and anyone could tell that anger was boiling right underneath the surface. "Alright, you called me here so can someone tell me what this is all about?"

Ted and gramps were doing their own thing while Andromeda was talking with Nym and Susan near the couches. So I guess that just left it to me to explain things, well damn.

"Alright, Harry, here is a quick rundown of the current situation. Dumbledore fucked up with the troll situation and placed the school in danger, I killed them and was accused of using dark magic." I said while rubbing my chin. "Ohh, I called gramps and a law wizard to soothe the old windpipe, but with so many noble house kids in danger, it's causing a bit of a mess. From what I know Malphy has the school board in a bit of a bother and, if I am not mistaken, the head of the DMLE is currently ripping him a new one."

Gramps grunted before turning around, "Well, come on then, let me have a look at yea. That old goat squirreled you away too quickly for anyone to know what's what. Hmm, you have Lily's eyes, good for you lad, that'll help you be a lady killer."

Rolling my eyes, I walked over to Ted's side as he inspected the listening and tracking charms we took off of Harry's person. Ted was muttering to himself while a deca quill at his side wrote everything down. Pulling out my magic book, I checked on the chat function and found that Amelia hadn't sent anything asking where we currently were.

Accepting that for what it was, I decided to take my seat and wait for everyone to finish up their conversations before I started dropping the real stuff on them. If what I thought was correct, then Dumbles was in for the surprise of a lifetime. Honestly? It was best to strike while he wasn't trying to circle the wagons to protect himself. Malfoy will be here soon with his little death eaters and with Ameila running the show, the old man will be lucky if he escapes the minefield I am laying out for him.

Yet, the issue I was having was that this might be a one and done, because once the old man got back on his feet, he would surely bring retaliation. Dumbledore would still be in charge of the wizengamot afterall. Well, that was unless these pureblood assholes could get their shits together and out him.

While I was mulling all of that over, there was a knock on the door leading into our little area. Gramps turned towards the door in one smooth motion stepping in front of Harry and having his wand slide into his waiting palm. Ted did the same, but it was clear that his motions weren't as good as the old mans.

The tension ratcheted up so high that it fell to me to break it. Letting out a sigh, I walked to the door and opened it to find Ameila Bones of the DMLE with two Aura's behind her. A simple wave of her hand had them wait outside the room, but it was clear for any to notice how their eyebrows ticked up at the sight of Harry.

That would have been the noteworthy thing, but it was the large black man that took guard that drew my attention. Kingsley fucking Shacklebult was a massively built man with some keen instincts with how quickly his gaze shifted to me. He was a bald black man standing at six two easy. Hell, the size alone was just odd for wizards; and the fact that he was in shape said more than enough. Most witches and wizards were soft in the middle and relied on their magic to keep them hale and healthy.

Instead of backing down, I held his gaze and dared him to use legilimens on me. The large man snorted and averted his gaze while Amelia shifted to where I was and closed the door blocking my view of the outside.

Letting out a huff, Amelia turned to give me a look and a glare before shifting to looking at her niece with a smile on her features. Rolling my eyes at them both, I made sure that the door was closed before flicking my wand over her person. Amelia quickly and swiftly pivoted with her wand in hand, but she lowered it with the nonplussed look I had on my face.

Letting her see my bored look, I kept my wand down but still keeping it out, I spoke, "Well, at least you are magic sensitive; but please don't shoot me in my face, it's my best feature."

Amelia rolled her eyes at my crappy snark, but still gave herself the once over. That was alright because anyone with a little bit of sense would at least check for spell mechanics. Low and behold, there was one thing that's lit up like a fucking Christmas tree.

Everyone in the room watched with bated breaths as she pulled the glowing blue, lemon drop out of her pocket. There was a beat of silence as Amelia's brows furrowed before she started a string of curses that even made me blush.

Before Amelia could storm back out the room, Ted stood forward and had her drop the lemon drop into the security box. Harry was clearly still lost, but I could tell he was slowly putting things together behind those green eyes of his. Honestly, it didn't take a rocket scientist to know what the blue glowing represented and why it was so important to put them inside of the box.

Amelia glared at him, before relenting and putting the lemon drop in the box, yet once she did that she paced the length of the room. Susan only allowed her aunt to complete two circuits before pulling her to the side.

Shaking my head at the situation, I checked my pocket watch, finding the time at half past nine. Doing a quick calculation in my head, I figured that Quirrell should have made his escape by now leaving only Snape inside of the building. Now, I was starting to regret not taking the marauders map from the twins when I had a chance. Then again, I can always just ask an elf to quickly pop over and get me the map.

Clapping my hand twice to draw everyone's attention, I made a show of waving my wand around the room. The air rippled as a shimmering transparent screen milk-white in color strang forth with my will as it protected and shielded us, not just from eavesdroppers, but also those well versed in scrying spells.

A Ravenclaw special of course.

Smiling at everyone, I just couldn't help myself. "Now that we are truly secured, I believe it's time to get this little shin-dig under way."

Gramps sigh before sending a light stinging hex in my direction, "Alright then, get on with it boy. You've showboated enough for one evening."

Chuckling, I pulled out the trump card of all trump cards, Harry's medical check up from when we snuck out of the school. Harry looked at it, but I could tell that not even he knew what I had in my hands. Well, even if it was going to be a bombshell, I was also planning on making it up to him.

Pretty sure that there were still some Potter elves he could summon. Yeah, he gets to live an abusive household in return, gets a manner and a stuffy old man off his case. Pushing my wild speculations aside, I cleared my throat dramatically for the room.

Letting out a fake, put upon sigh, I held up the forms in my hands. "Well, let's get on with the excitement then."

The medical form levitated out of my hand, split into three copies before floating over to their respective owners. Amelia's eyes went up into her hairline and gramps had to clutch the chair he was standing beside. Andromeda on the other hand went a little red in the face. Ted on the other hand was stone fucking cold and I could dig it, that man knew how to judge a situation.

Waving the girls over, I went to Harry's side and took him to one of the far corners.

"Alright, welcome to my corner of bad ideas, who would like to go first?" I quipped as I looked around at the faces in my little circle. Nym cringed a little and Sue shared the same look, the only one that wasn't looking at me as if I was a mad man was Harry.

Shaking my head, I had to wave my hand at the two. "Oi oi, don't give me that look, I got this."

Clearing my throat, I acted like I didn't see the two of them roll their eyes at me.

"Alright, Harry, I want you to try something cool that will change your life." I said and had to smother the urge to roll my own eyes at the way the other teen looked at me. You would think with all that I had helped the little shit take care of that I would at least get the benefit of the doubt.

Harry mulled the thought over for a bit and while he was doing that, I could see gramps and the rest moving around in the room to discuss the medical examination form I had given them each a copy of. Shaking that thought away, I gave Harry a nudge. "Just call out and ask for any Potter elves."

Harry looked at me lost for a moment before slowly repeating what I told him. "Ask for a Potter Elf, why?"

Before I could answer or Susan could explain, there was an audible pop as a little four foot elf in a pillow case appeared. The first thing I noticed was the stag crest on his chest and the fuzzy grey hairs coming out of his ears.

"Masta Harry calls Potter elf?" The little elf said as he bowed low.

"YES!" I yelled triumphantly, scarring everyone in the room. "Ohh this is just too good." I chuckled, rubbing my hands together.

"Who is he and why did he say he was a Potter elf?" Harry questioned while looking at the magical creature.

"Okay, Harry, I need you to focus right now." I say brushing aside his asked question. "Ask your little friend to retrieve all Potter items for you and return them to the manor. Also ask for a list to be placed on a piece of parchment so you are able to read it."

Harry looked at me then looked at the elf who was wearing one of those super clingy expressions before relaying what I just said. There was a snap, and for half a second, I felt the magic flow out of the room and take hold. Half a second later it was all gone from my senses and I was back to normal wizard, but I was getting better.

A parchment appeared in the elfs hand and I realized that we didn't even ask the poor creature it's name.

"Shit," I muttered and that was immediately followed with a smack from the side. Turning to figure out who would do such a foolish thing, I found gramps staring at me with one gimlet eye with the other on Harry. Letting out a soft chuckle, I turned my attention to the little elf while Harry stood stunned with the parchment in his hand. "Sorry little elf, but do you mind sharing your name with us?"

The little creature stared at me with wide eyes before turning to Harry while bouncing on the balls of his feet. Harry looked at the little elf before shifting his attention my way, all I could do was nod my head. It was completely up to him on how he treated his servants, but I at least wanted to nudge things in the right direction.

Harry cleared his throat, then finally spoke with a calm and controlled voice. "May I get your name, please."

"Masta Harry asked for my name." The little elf swooned on the spot and I had to keep myself from facepalming.

"Yea…" Harry cleared his throat from the slight crack then tried once more. "Yes, I would like to know your name. Also how come you are a Potter elf?"

"Name's Sammy, masta Harry. And I's BE a Potter elf."

Letting out a chuckle, I moved to explain what that meant, but stopped as Susan took over the explanation before I could.

"Harry, most if not all of the older noble houses have little assistants called house elfs." Sue said calmly as she put a hand on my forearm to keep me replying with a snark. "They do most of the general household chores and upkeep of the homes. Sometimes they are also the ones to take care of the kids."

"Huh, Ron never said anything about owning a house elf." Harry muttered and we all heard him.

Nym did a little cringe, "Yeah, well the Weaslys have fallen very far from what they used to be."

"My daughter has a point and I don't believe that Ron knows the full extent of his family's history." Andromeda said with a nod of her head. "Even before I left my family we had house elfs for years upon years."

Ted nodded his head along with the words of his wife, "The only reason why we ourselves don't have a house elf is because they are expensive and we like doing for ourselves." Ted smiled a little. "It gives us more satisfaction when we do it with our own hands."

Harry nodded and I noticed gramps giving him a side look, brushing all of that aside, I let Harry interact with his elf while I looked over the parchment of Potter items. I skipped over the names of a few books, amazed that these things were lent out. It was clear that whoever had borrowed these knew their magic.

There were at least a hundred books all ranging from rituals to runes and advanced theories on casting. As I went down the list, I tried not to laugh as I noticed that it had two things listed. One was the invisibility cloak and the other was the marauder's map. Damn, now I don't have to figure out some Ocean's Eleven type situation to get it from the twins.

Once I noticed the interaction slowly peterring out, I decided to speak up, "Harry, I would recommend asking for the invisibility robe and the marauders map."

With me handing back the parchment, Harry took a look at the two items I was pointing out. He gave me one look while deliberating on my mentions before shrugging his shoulder. Yeah, he might as well since I haven't steered him wrong yet. Then again, I did have any number of plans now or in the future to betray him.

Hell, he is coming out of our engagements being a lot better off than he was before coming to meet me. He doesn't know it yet, but from the look Ameilia gave those medical documents. She was going to have Dumbledore's hide and those of this Aunt and Uncle.

Harry looked at the little elf, then asked for the items I pointed out. The elf pops away and then pops back with a massive grin on his face. I watched and waited patiently for Harry to look over the map which was blank and the invisibility cloak.

It was easy to see why he ignored the blank map to zero in and onto the cloak. Taking the parchment that Harry held out for me, I let him get on with the cloak while examining the map.

The face and back of it was blank of course, but that was a given since I hadn't spoken the password yet. Pulling a monocle from one of my many pockets, I fixed it over my eye and started to examine the map.

One of the first things I noticed was the layered security charm over the parchment. Now, that was an interesting bit of spell work. The right passphrase would give you option B while the wrong password gave option A. Even while they were making the defenses James and Sirius were little devils. Hell, there were at least four more wrong routes for someone to stumble onto while trying to unravel this thing, very nice bit of spell work.

What I found to be even more interesting than the security feature was the spell that was linked to somewhere off in the depths of the school. If I was correct then they had somehow gotten a link to the book of names and the wardstone. And honeslty, I have no clue on how in the fuck they were able to pull something like that off.

Letting out a sigh, I pulled out my magical grimoire and started to copy over the spells. Once I was certain about everything, I then activated the map. {I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.}

"Aye you brat, you have done enough already, you better calm that ass of yours down before I handle you like I do that old goat who's running this school into the ground." Gramps said while sending a smack into the back of my head. The monocle fell out and I caught it in time as I turned to give the old man a glare, which he returned with a roll of his eyes.

When I turned to give him a glare, I was surprised to find Amelia standing at my other shoulder while Ted was at her side. For some reason everyone was interested in what I was doing. Letting out a sigh, I couldn't stop myself from rolling my eyes at everyone. "Yes?"

Ted sighed and Amelia gave him a nice little elbow for his troubles. "We are just wondering what you are working on." Amelia said, making a motion to my grimoire.

Tilting my head from side to side, I mulled over my idea before answering her back. "Well, it's actually nothing new. I heard about the twins running around with a map of the school." I said and Ted and Amelia both gave a shocked look. "That was alright, but it was the name Padfoot and Prongs I heard them mention making me think that it wasn't their creation. So I bugged them and waited for my chance."

Shrugging, I kept the spell transference except the security one since my book had more than enough magical protections. "Besides the map of the school, I plan to update it with some of my own ideas." I muttered before activating the illusion array.

There were faint gasps around the room as a magical 3D map of Hogwarts appeared for all to look at. "This is my marauders map."

My feelings of triumph were dashed and stabbed in the heart as someone decided to stick their hands into the damn thing and play with it. Honestly, I wanted to smack myself for not expecting someone to do that. A flair of my will had the map shrink back down to a twelve inch model that hung before me for all to see.

"Please don't play with my magic map," I huffed at Andromeda as she played it cool as if she wasn't the one messing with the map.

"What can it do, what do you need to make one of these? Can't you reproduce this?" Amelia started to fire questions my way as she stepped in a lot closer to take a look at the magical hologram of the school.

"Not sure yet, but am pretty sure that I would need access to the wards at the very least of wherever you want a map of." I replied as I looked over the spell work that I tied into the school's system piggy backed off of the main marauder maps. I could already see so many improvements to be made, but this was a prepper stopgap for now.

For now though, I was going to settle for just one spell overlaying the hologram, and that was just your basic dark magic sensor. I knew that there was already one built into the school's wards. Yet, it was already clear that someone had deactivated that when they took control of the school's systems. It's not like they couldn't just use the friend or foe system to make sure a certain young wolf was able to attend classes.

A ripple of magic washed over the illusion of the school as four dark spots appeared at a few separate locations. The seventh floor, but I knew what that was, the third floor which was the defense room, most likely the dragon hanging overhead in that class.

I still don't get how no one realized that it was a dark artifact, but that was for another time. The last and fourth was located down in the dungeons, now that was an interesting tidbit I wasn't expecting. There were a few smaller ones, but it was easy to guess. The one in the room with me was most likely the orb I had in one of my inner pockets, while the small rat shaped one was obviously Pettygrew. Now, that last one rapidly leaving the school grounds on the other hand almost had me screaming out

Then I remembered that I had a piece of his soul not only in my pocket, but also trapped on the seventh floor of my school. He was fucked ten days from Sunday no matter how far he tried to run. Now, the fact that Snape was showing up as a dark artifact was more telling than interesting which meant to me that the little taboo tattoo he had carved into his forearm was more than just a signalling system for old Voldy face.

Amelia was the first to get the implication of the new shades followed by my gramps. She did a heel turn and I had to rush to stop her from getting her guards.

"Wait," I called a wall springing forth due to my magical will. "You can't just run out there and call Dumbledore on his bullshit."

The look she gave me was pure murderous, pinching the bridge of my nose, I tried one more time. "Look as much as it would please me to kick that asshole off his high horse, we have to make sure to take some precautions because once he leaves the school he is going to get Snape to dish secrets to him."

"Boy, explain yourself." Gramps barked and I had to pinch the bridge of my nose once more not to snap at him about the obvious.

"Dumbledore is going to find out because he is just going to hear it from Snape after he reads Harry's mind." I said with a sigh. "The guys a manchild with a grudge a mile wide against Harry"

Harry had what could only be described as mortal shock and terror on his face. "What do you mean Snape is going to read my mind?"

I let out a sigh, fuck me, why can no one keep up. "Snape tried to use silent ligimens on me a few times during the year, my shields are strong so he got nowhere."

"What!" Gramps, Amelia, Ted and Andromeda all exclaimed at the same time.

"Whats ligimens?" Harry asked, confused.

"Legilimency is the art of mind reading." I answered with a shrug.

Harry still looked mortified, "And he can just do that."

"Yeah, he can to an untrained mind, but that's only because he is skilled enough to use the basic variant without a wand to assist." I replied with a shrug. "It's not that hard really, it's just ocular based projection magic."

"Ocular what?" Nym asked, now showing that she was the confused one, but it was clear that she wasn't alone since the whole room was looking at me lost.

I could only shrug, "It's a eye based projection spell, but that's besides the point."

"And what is the point," Amelia asked, clearly not looking happy with the news.

"The point is that once we kick Dumbles out of the school, he will still find out about how it went down unless we can get rid of his rat with him." I shrugged, "if we can't, we might as well not strike."

"And how do you suggest we strike?" Andromeda asked a beautiful smile blooming onto her face. "You wouldn't be a true Slytherin if you didn't have a plan to get back at him for his transgressions."

Holding a hand over my heart, I faked a gasp for them to see. "How dare you accuse me of such a thing my fair lady, I shall have you know, that I am a man of good deeds and standing."

"Good deeds my foot, out with it boy." Gramps grumbled with a snort.

"You can use the fact that no one has graduated his OWL or NEWT subject to assure that he is sabotaging magical Britain as a whole in his effort to help the dark side." I revealed with a cruel smile as the illusion projection changed to a graph. "Since Severus Snape has taken up teaching at Hogwarts, you can see the amount of students failing out of potions has seen a steady incline over the years and those joining the Aurors steadily declining in conjunction."

Amelia took a hard step forward, eyes alight with fury, maybe I should feel sorry for him, not! The look on her face told me more than enough, it was clear that she was a half beat away from snatching the book out of my hand to examine the numbers. It was a good thing that a flick of the wrist gave her her own holo-illusion to look at.

"Max helped me gather the information and so did Ted, even if he didn't know why I was asking for it." I said with a shrug. "With the situation going on in the castle, I am sure that the Aurors are running not only ragged but you also don't have a lot of them to spare."

The room fell into silence so I continued to speak.

"This is not only a good time to get rid of both Snape and Dumbledore, but also get the Minister to up the funding to help protect the citizens." I said, my grin positively stunning. "And the great news is that you will have the entire Magical community on your side."

"And you think that it's that easy do you?" Ted asked with a snort.

"Of course, because we will have the one thing that they don't." I replied just oozing all of the smugness.

"And what's that?" Gramps asked and I could see Amelia already running the possibilities through her mind.

"Rita Skeeter in our pockets with no way off the leash." I replied as I slowly drew my wand.

Everyone turned to look at me like I had lost my mind.

"It's only fair that she would cooperate with the head of the DMLE since Amelia would have her dead to rights on breaking such important laws." I said before flicking my wand at the fireplace.

"What are you?" Susan asked before she stopped and her and everyone else's eyes went ridiculously wide.

Ignoring them, I cast an animagus reversal spell on the bug floating before me. Within the span of a second, the insect went from tiny and could fit on one finger to a lady garishly dressed wearing horn-rimmed glasses.

"Isn't that right Miss Skeeter?" I asked with a truly evil grin.

Andromeda sighed. "OHH, you are mostly definitely wasted in house Ravenclaw."

Snorting, I replied absentmindedly. "No true Slytherin would ever let himself be admitted to the house of the cunning, even Dumbledore knew this."

Author Notes

Sorry for the late chapter, mother nature decided to run up on me and ally her own version of an on sight ass kicking. I looked one way, then looked the other, then suddenly I was jumped from behind and got a face full of pollen.

If I knew that Mother nature had it out for my ass, I would have taken that day off and stayed home from work. Instead, I got beat by mother nature and her homie pollen and allergies.

She left me looking like a wreck, but I was in luck because the GF brought the homie Halls and Claritin with her to help me fight back.
