1 New Year, New Me

I was getting ready as I heard my dad yell, "Aven! Eric!, Get your asses down here you're going to be late!" I quickly buttoned my shirt and grabbed my bag running downstairs.

My father soon pulled in the school driveway as me and my brother hopped out of the car waving our dad goodbye as we looked at the giant school. "new year, new me" me and my Eric both said as we started walking towards the doors until a group of kids started running out the doors as kids were screaming and laughing.

I was in my English class slamming my head on the desk quietly. As the teacher walked over to me as she handed me my work and walked off to hand out everyone else's work. I looked at the paper and it was on my poem writing cause we had to do that dumb shit in this class. '72/100' "Good enough" I said as my friend who sat next to me and looked at my grade.

"Lucky" She said as she slumped in her chair. "What?" I asked confused as I looked back at my paper "Lucky I said, I failed" "How the hell do you fail Poetry-" I asked confused as hell. She raised her shoulders shrugging as some kid walked into class.

"Today we have a new student" Mrs. Bailey our teacher said "His name is Vexen, now everyone be friendly with our new student." Mrs. Bailey shooed off Vexen off to a seat and got back to teaching.

I looked at the kid as he sat right on my other side as he looked familiar. I shook it off as seeing the guy at the store before.

Soon enough class ended and i started walking down the hall with my Penny, The girl that failed her poem in class.

"I still don't know how you failed your poem" I said snickering. She hit me in the back of the head as I burst out in laughter. She hit me again as i chuckled. "Sorry sorry don't kill me-" "she scoffed as I wasn't paying attention and knocked into someone. I fell on the ground "Oof-" I said as I looked up and it was Vexen.

I stood up, "Sorry didn't mean to knock you over" the guy said as I patted my clothes down "It's okay, no harm done i said with a cheeky smile.

He stuck out his hand "Vexen, nice to meet you!" He said as I took his hand and shook it. "Aven" I responded with. "I had an old friend named Aven, What a coincidence" He said laughing a little. I chuckled as the bell rang "Oh, gotta go. See you Aven" he said rushing off.

I walked to lunch as I looked at everyone and walked out of the cafeteria. I sat in the school yard as I read a book listening to some music.

After a while a soccer ball hit the fence right next to me as I slowly looked up as a group of 3 guy and a girl walked right up to me. "Oh sorry that was supposed to hit you face." The tallest one said. "Already starting you shit on the first day of school huh?" I said lowering my book. "Looks like someone's desperate for another beating" I said smirking.

To explain who these four were, and still are the school bullies. I did not get along with them as no one really did. Last year I beat their leader Pat, to a pulp. And he came back for more this year.

The guy on his left was 6'2. His name was Every, he often screams at people to give him money cause he can't afford shit.

The guy with the girl attached to him in that ack was jackson. He was uptight about himself. he only talked about himself and he slept with all of the girls in the school. he was just in the group for being a douche.

The girl, I can't explain.

"Shut up Aven" "Oh look who remembers my name" I said back. his face started to heat up. "You fucking owe me fag" I flinched at the last word. "I don't owe you shit eddie" I said with a scowl "He spat on me as to which I wiped it off with my sleeve.

He grabbed his ball and walked off as I got up and put my book away and walked to the library for some peace and quiet.

I sat in there until lunch was over.

After school I decided to walk home as it wasn't as far as you'd think. I was walking with Penny as she was my neighbor across the street. We talked about what happened at school today and she went off as she saw a bunch of cute girls.

We both walked into the house as I greeted my brother Eric who takes the us usually as he waved back watching some Netflix on the couch in the living room.

We walked upstairs into my room as I opened my door and layed on my bed groaning.

Me and Penny watched some Netflix for a couple of hours as we both fell asleep. Penny falling halfway off the bed and me, I was upside down on the bed. don't know how it happened just happens.

I woke up to my mom screaming my name I fell off the bed "OW, FUCK!" I yelled "Aven get your ass down here dinner is ready!" I got up as Penny was snoring awfully loud. "Penny you fat bitch get out of my bed" I said loudly in her ear as she woke up somehow not falling off the bed "My fuckin' bed now." I pushed her off the bed as a loud 'Thump' Was heard. "Asshole" She said.

I walked downstairs as I looked at everyone at the dinner table and sat down as Penny left.

"You need to invite her soon" My mother says referring to Penny. "Yeah I know" I responded stuffing my face.
