1 The Message

**1957, Jarniah Ice Forest**

The blade pierced the man on the ground. "Advance, we can enter the cave," said the General. "Their defences were horrible, even the weakest among the squires easily slew those 'warriors' he continued. As they entered the cave, one of the general's archers caught the eye of a mage.

The archer shot the man down with ease. The arrow shot through the man's chest and stuck him to the wall. Blood gushed out of his wound and on the book that he held onto. The man's eyes went a bright blue and shun viciously.

"RUE THE WALKER'S RETURN, FEAR THE NIGHT HE RISES!" said the man before he died. "The Walker?" the General laughed. "Come on men, we have a victory to celebrate!"

**Present Day, The Inzang City**

"It's been 1300 years since the Walker was ever mentioned" King Idra mentioned. "For centuries we have secretly prepared for his attack and found ways to manifest abilities to do so."

"Let us celebrate our safety, our prosperity and our joy!" he yelled. Just as the feast was about to begin a messenger burst forth through the doors. "I have a message!" she cried. "A message for the King!" she continued.

" My name is Ophelia, I was sent here to tell you that the awakening test takes place today," she continued. " My Lord you are most likely to have already known this but this time the week before the children who were tested went through mana detectors and the readings where unexpected," Ophelia spoke to the King eagerly. "Maybe you might find t-the next H-Hamiru?" she said the name cautiously.

"How could she?!" murmured guests. They all knew what Hamiru had done for the King, but they also knew Hamiru was responsible for the killing of the Kings daughter and wife. "I shall go to the examination if they are interesting as you claim"

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! SLAP!!!

Xadoris slammed his hand onto the alarm clock. He had dreamt of this day since he was 7, over 8 years ago. Today was the life-changing day. It was his ability awakening day.

Abilities were decided on their nature, their build and their will power. There were Ranks too, they were the same for the humans and the beasts. -I being highest and VI being the lowest. VI was just a bit stronger than the average human.

Xadoris leapt out of bed and dashed over towards his wardrobe. He slapped on a dark grey beanie, black army pants and a red lumberjack- like, open shirt with a black tee on the inside. With that, he slid down the stair railing of his house and grabbed his ready-made P-B and Jelly sandwich. He called out bye to his maid and left the house.

**The Bus, Costark Avenue, 5 Minutes Away From The School**

"Tsk- Mom-less boy decided to show his face on this bus again," said a tallish guy. He made his way to Xadoris with two others and pulled away Xadoris's bag from him. "Stupid stan-" murmured Xadoris.

"What do you want this time?" he asked. "After school, gates, not there and it'll be bad" Stan sneered. "You sure you wanna go down that path Stan?" Xadoris mocked, "We have our awakening test today" he attempted to negotiate. "You think you can get away, think again," Stan yelled. " Sports field after school or suffer the consequences!" he said as he left with his head high.

**The School Gymnasium, Examination Room**

"Students!!" said the examiner as he clapped his hands. "Before we begin, I'd like to introduce you to our special guest!" The clamour in the room suddenly died down. There were about 400 kids there and among them was Xadoris. "I'd like you to meet... THE KING OF INZANG!!!!" he screeched in excitement. Roars erupted throughout the room. "Let us begin, shall we?" announced the examiner. "YESS!!!!!" the whole room replied in joy.

300 hundred students had been examined and at this point, only 13 had been shocking. Xadoris was next. He stepped up onto the platform and placed his hand on the black orb. "Your ability i- it seems you do not have an ability however there is something else I find," the orb remarked. It had a microphone so that ALL the students could hear.

"The information I have found tells me that you are the Fro-czzxzzzzzt Walzxxxzrrrrrrr" [BOOM] The orb exploded and left a plume of smoke. Everybody averted their eyes to Xadoris. "It couldn't have said Frost Walker, r-r-right my lord?" said the examiner. "HAH, Frost Walker, that puny insect, it couldn't be." laughed the King.

A new orb was brought in. Xadoris put his hand on yet again, dreading if it had said, frost walker. "Your ability is Black Ice, you can use this ability in any part of your body." said the orb in a monotone voice " You are-" the orb cut out of the microphone and linked to Xadoris alone," the Frost Walker"

**Gate, After School**

"Xadoris, Xadoris, Xadoris... You left before you could find out what power I would use to... DESTROY. YOUR. ASS!" Stan imitated. "You see Xadoris, I just received word that... I have a rank II ability!" Stan approached Xadoris. [CRACK]

Stan swung at Xadoris but felt something harder than rock. He looked to see a jagged icicle with dark swirls within. "AHHHH!" Stan roared as he looked down at his mangled knuckles. He returned his eyes to Xadoris's and felt as though he was staring into neverending darkness.

Xadoris's eyes went from a dark brown to a deep purple. He could feel it, the power surging through the icicle. Xadoris's power level was a V but felt like he had enough power to destroy a stone pillar.

He could feel the fear in Stan's eyes. [THUD] [THUD] [THUD] Xadoris had coated his hands with the ice and was sparking Stan out. "Yes, YES become a monster Xadoris!" echoed a voice in his head. "BECOME A MONSTER"
