38 Issue #6

When Jack got back to his room, he saw that Bean was sleeping on his bed. Besides, the little dog was a bird, a cat, and a frog wearing some pretty cool Thro cosplay.

'So the bird belongs to Falcon and that frog is either Thor's actual pet or a pet of Iron Man used to make fun of Thor. I wonder who owns the cat?'

Jack shook his head at them before he went into his bathroom and took a shower. When he came out, he was only wearing a towel. He then went into his closet and grabbed one of the 10 identical uniforms he had in there. Right after he got dressed, Jack's phone rang. The number of people who had his phone number could be counted on two fingers.

'Leah should be asleep at this time. Must be Emma.'

And just like Jack thought, when he walked over to check who was calling, it was indeed Emma. He picked it up and greeted her warmly.

"Hello, Emma. Wonderful morning isn't it?"

Emma could hear something different in his voice. She made a few mental guesses before saying the most obvious one out loud.

"My, my. Did our little winter spirit finally experience his springtime? You just met all your teammates but you've already seduced one. Or were you the one that got seduced?"

Having been caught so easily, Jack began choking. It took him nearly a minute to recover. He couldn't admit to Emma that She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel were the ones that came onto him instead of the reverse. He wouldn't know how to face the woman on the other side of the phone. So instead of answering her question, he blew past it.

"Anyway, what are you calling for so early in the morning?"

Emma saw through the obvious changing of the subject but decided to go along with it. She knew that Jack would have several things to do that day and must be tired from the day before.

"I'm just calling to tell you to be careful. You're no longer going to be dealing with random thugs with handguns. The criminals that the Avengers go up against are going to try to and have the ability to kill you.

Just because you are doing the hero thing now, if it comes down to it: pick your life over theirs. Even if you lose a place on the team. I would rather lose the intel and information you can gain than lose you, Jack. Got it?"

Jack felt warmth fill his heart. He loved to hear that Emma was so concerned about him.

"Don't worry. I'll make sure to be safe. You do the same," Jack was even more worried about Emma. He would have to face criminals in the open. Her foes attacked from the shadows.

"Hmm. I will. Talk to you later."

"Bye"

Jack hung up and looked at himself in the mirror once more. This was going to be his first day as a member of the Avengers so he wanted it to be special.

"Bean!"

The dog heard its name being called so it ran over and sat by Jack's feet

"What scent should I have today?"

'Pancakes with maple syrup on them and a side of bacon!'

"Peppermint? Sounds perfect."

Jack used his ability to change his scent and he now gave off the scent of peppermints. Bean looked at Jack as if he was looking at an idiot before he turned his butt toward Jack and walked away.

Unknown that his own dog was looking down upon him with disdain, Jack walked out of the room feeling proud.

The meeting took place on the 20th floor which was the top of the tower. Only a few of the other Avengers were present and sitting around the table. Jack found himself a seat and waited. Over the next 10 minutes, the rest of the Avengers showed up and took their seats. This was the first time that Jack was truly meeting all of the other members.

Once everyone was in their seat, Captain America started the meeting

"It is good to see everyone here. You have all been chosen by me personally to be Avengers because I believe that all of you either already are or have the makings to be the greatest heroes.

You all know the basics about who is funding us and who is backing us so I won't waste time with that. Let's talk about the squads. We currently have 4 squads of Avengers name Alpha, Delta, Kilo, and Zulu. Each squad will have its own leaders that will take command during operations.

First is Alpha Squad. I will be personally leading it. The members of my squad are The Thing, Invisible Woman, Thor, and Iron Man.

Black Widow will be in charge of Delta Squad. The other members of Delta Squad are She-Hulk, Jack Frost, Human Torch, Cloak, and Dagger.

The Kilo team will be led by Wasp. The members of the Kilo Squad will be Ant-Man, Mr. Fantastic, Spider-Man, and Luke Cage.

Lastly will be Zulu Squad. Hawkeye has been chosen to be in command The other members of the Zulu Squad will be Ms. Marvel, Falcon, Namor, and White Widow."

"Captain America! Surely you jest," Namor interjected immediately. "If it was you or someone stronger than me, I would not mind following their command. But you expect me to follow the orders of a mere archer? A king?"

"Pft! You want to lead a squad? You're an arrogant fool, Namor!" Reed countered before Captain America could speak up

"What was that, Richards! I know my worth. I'm not willing to be under someone else, especially one who is my lesser. You may be like that but I'm not!"

"Hmm. I know the right place and time. But since you have brought it up, I also wish to raise objections about the current team arrangements. Not about leadership but my team. The Fantastic 4 have been together for over half a year now and have built a strong rapport. To have us be on different teams is a waste of our talent!"

"You both are the newest members! What right do you have to demand a leadership position? I have been an Avenger since the beginning though, Rogers! I invented the particles and suit that made my wife what she is! Why aren't I being given a position as squad leader?" Ant-Man yelled out indignantly

The three men with the biggest egos (Yes. Even more than Tony Stark) each started yelling and arguing with each other about which one of them deserved to lead their own team. Most of the others were watching in pleasure, a few in embarrassment, while Captain America tried to stop them.

"Guys. guys. Guys!"

But even as he tried, the trio kept speaking over one another. While they were yelling at each other, an alarm went off and Captain America got a message on his communicator.

"Delta Squad. A group of SHIELD agents was sent on a mission to take down a HYDRA base. There has been an unexpected development and they need backup.

Your squad seems to be the only one not having any issues besides mine and I need to solve this here. You all will be sent there to help make sure all those agents make it out alive."

"No problem, Cap," Black Widow instantly agreed on behalf of her team. "Let's go guys and gals. We have a mission to complete. Let these boys argue over whose dick is bigger."
