Issue #5

(I just want to let you all know how much I fucking hate typing! Because I can see the entire future I have planned but have to type it all out to give myself and you guys a clear vision. I wish I could just upload what I think to this app without having to type it all out.

But seriously. We are in the top 100 within a week of being released. That is amazing. So as thanks, will be releasing another chapter rn(This one duh) and another later. Thanks for the support and love.)

"So how did your new team perform?" Emma asked Jack as she sipped her tea

The pair were in a pure white room with all white furniture. Exactly to Emma's taste. She was also wearing her Hellfire Club uniform. A corset, panties/shorts, and a cape. All white of course. Jack was still dressed in his Hellions uniform which made him stand out in the white room.

Jack took a sip of his tea while he processed his thoughts. They were... complicated.

"All of them performed well on the mission. The way they completed it... it made me put my guard up. Even Sharon and Yukio that I thought would have some reluctance when it came to killing. But each of them killed without a thought.

I'm not sure whether it is their conviction or experiences from before, none of them shied away from the bloodshed. I'm not sure whether I am overthinking this or not."

Emma chuckled at the confusion on Jack's face. During their training, he had been more and more confident in himself. Always thinking that he was in control, even when everything else would say otherwise.

"You are both right and wrong to be worried. Since the Club has made them their Hellions, of course, they must be willing to do what it takes to complete the mission. You should have been prepared for that.

But I also understand your unease. This is because you feel like you have no control over this matter. And unfortunately, you never will. Because as much as you don't wish it, you are currently a pawn and don't have to strength not to be.

So you must make plans. You need to have backups in place and be prepared for all situations. Make sure the number of people you truly trust can be counted on one hand. And you must be willing to compromise on certain things in order to achieve your goals. Understand?"

Jack nodded but was still absorbing the advice that she had given. She had given him the explanations and examples but Jack was lacking in experiences. Now he knew that being on a team full of people that were meant to be killers and trusting them all just cause he had beaten them was quite foolish.

"I need to get wiser. And stronger. And more experienced."

"And you will, Jack. Take your time in the Hellions as a chance to do all that. And once you do... join me in the Inner Circle. Or go out and find something else you wish to do. Just make sure you always remember your center."

Hearing these words, Jack was surprised. He always thought that Emma wanted him to join her in the Hellfire Club but these words shattered that.

'She says she wants me to be her heir but not as the White King? Then as what?'

Just as Jack wanted to ask for confirmation, Emma stopped him.

"Don't worry about it for now. Just focus on getting a bit better. I will make sure no one impedes you during your time at the academy."

Knowing that he wouldn't be able to pry anything from Emma's lips if she didn't want to say it, Jack immediately gave up.

"Whatever. Empath will probably try to assassinate me if he thinks I am sleeping any longer so I'm gonna go."

Emma laughed at this but did not deny it. Manuel was the one that she trusted the least as well. His powers caused a bit of mental instability.

"Alright then. I'll see you when you get back."

The white room began to crumble all around the pair. Piece by piece broke apart started at the walls until it reached the chairs and table Jack and Emma were on. The world turned to black so Jack blinked and saw that he was back on the jet with the other Hellions.

'Ugh. Astral plane conversations give me a hangover when I return to my body. I really need to find another way to do these.'

Jack was still inside the Hell-Jet with the rest of the Hellions after the assassination job they had just completed. He needed a private conversation with Emma so he contacted her psychically. But since his telepathy was too weak for a normal telepathic connection, Jack had to use astral projection in order to speak with her.

This was a very advanced but dangerous technique of telepathy that separated one's mind from their physical body. It was useful for using the full power of one's telepathy at a further distance as well as reconnaissance but it left the physical body vulnerable.

The jet got back to the school after midnight. Most of the team decided to head to sleep but a few of them wanted to stay up. One of those was, of course, Jack. He stayed in the training grounds before pulling out one of the various pistols that were located down there to try out his new skills.

When he fired at the dummies, Jack's skill was not bad. He was able to land 4-5 out of 6 shots on the targets. About half of these were vitals.

'This is better than I thought it would be. It seems that Adept is a broad rank. I wonder if I can rank it up on my own with effort or I need to kill those with better levels in the skills.'

After testing out his shooting skills, Jack decided to test his CQC skill against the dummies. He was able to hold his own against the level 2 dummies without using any of his powers which was much better than before. Jack's martial arts skills were very lacking so this skill more than made up for his deficiency.

By the time Jack was finished with everything, it was a little after 1 in the morning. Between flying for two hours, doing a mission in between such flights, and then another hour of training afterward, Jack was exhausted.

He went to his room and passed out on his bed soon afterward. The next day was awaiting him.
