The Tournament V

The Fiery Molten Ape and the Thunder Gale Ape stood side-by-side, as they faced the Faceless one. Looking at Sun Zan's two monsters, Ye Qin and Wang Tao knew that Sun Zan didn't stand a chance against his opponent.

It didn't matter whether he had one or two monsters, he would still lose to his opponent, due to the disparity in grade. The Thunder Gale Ape held its sword and moved along calling with it the wind and thunder.

The Fiery Molten Ape, started beating its chest, as the molten armor around its body began to glow crimson bright red. As the beating grew louder, the armor became brighter, while the temperature in the stadium rose at a rapid pace.

Facing off against the Faceless One, the molten ape must fight with its full strength. Only after it had charged enough, did it finally begin to move. With its large body, the ape leaped high into the air, and headed for the Faceless One.

As for the thunder ape, it had long begun its battle with its opponent. It's sword, clad in pure lightning, struck its opponent using its superior speed. Even though it held great speed, the power it held didn't cause much of a threat to the faceless being.

With the fiery ape's great power, they now had a chance to deal some damage to the opponent. The Fiery Molten Ape's fists rained down from the sky, while the Thunder Gale Ape's sword was clad in a fearsome coat of thunder.

Bang!

The molten ape's fists smashed the large body of the Faceless One. The thunder ape, slashed its wings, in order to clip them down. When the smoke cleared, one could see that the large monster with many pairs of wings was uninjured.

The same couldn't be said for its opponents. The molten ape's armor was shattered all over, while the thunder ape's sword had broken into pieces, its thin armor also cracked all over, as both apes were fine apart from that.

"So that's all I can do without the Great Sage." Sun Zan thought. The two apes quickly returned to his Monster sea, as the Faceless One was remaining along with the Demon Marshal.

Silence filled the stage, despite having two monsters, Sun Zan didn't last long against his opponent. In fact, the fight ended almost in an instant. Shaking his head, Sun Zan could only look at 'her' and await her answer.

The person Sun Zan referred to as 'her' was naturally the strongest student in his college, and also the captain of this year's War God academy representative. So far, she hadn't revealed her strength, while only few people today knew what she was capable of.

Especially so for Ye Qin and Wang Tao. It had been a year since they had last seen her. That year, her strength was already greater than most of the students here, now that she had entered China's greatest university, her strength should be dauntless by now.

The young girl stepped up to the center and took the stage. Her long white hair sat quietly on her back as she opened her mouth. As inaudible dialog was spoken, a black magic circle formed in front of her.

Roar!

An earthshaking roar shook the stage as soon as the magic circle appeared. Before a figure was even revealed, a strong pressuring force was emitted and shook the core of everyone on the stage.

A small dragon, only slightly larger than a rhinoceros, that was pitch black all around its body was uncovered. The small dragon, despite its small size, gave off an oppressive aura that was no weaker than what Ye Qin's Qiulong had given off earlier.

"It's leveled up by quite a lot, considering it's only been a year, the progress was fast. Not only that, she has another one of similar strength. Getting them this far, is almost as fast as Wang Tao and I." Ye Qin thought.

"Phew, it's much stronger than it was a year ago. It's good that we have gotten stronger since then, it'll be fun." Wang Tao muttered quietly.

"Hah? Another dragon? Since when were dragons so common? In the same year, two students with dragons appeared at once!"

"What are you complaining about? Isn't it a good thing for us to have stronger people? In the future, it will be far easier to take back our lands, use your brain a bit! You should be surprised, but don't be jealous!"

The Enigmatic Photon Dragon faced its opponents. The Demon Marshal crossed the void and instantly appeared right above the dragon. It's powerful space element allowed it to move quickly without much effort, its claws went straight for the dragon's head.

Just as its claw was about to land, the demon marshal only saw a black shadow, before it was sent flying.

Bang!

Contrary to everyone's thoughts, the demon marshal which had almost grasped its pray, was instead sent flying away. Nobody had seen what had happened, nobody but the principals and teachers of the universities, as well as Ye Qin and Wang Tao.

They had seen everything clearly during that moment. When the Demon Marshal's claw was just a few inches away from the Photon Dragon's head, its tail flung into action, a whip-like motion was lashed out at an incredible speed that was faster than lightning, to counter the upcoming claw.

In that instance, the tail whipped the marshal's fingers, and then pulled it down and lashed at its waist. Within such a short timeframe, all of this happened at once, resulting in what had just occurred.

As it was sent flying, the Demon Marshal quickly recovered, before it crashed. While it stood, blood was flowing from its waist. The Enigmatic Photon Dragon turned its head to face it, as a small energy ball was released from its mouth.

Whoosh!

The black energy ball, made up of two elements shot through the air, like a bullet towards the Demon Marshal. Seeing an attack coming, the demon moved slightly to the right, as its two claws came together and formed a huge ball of energy.

As it dodged the energy blast, the Demon Marshal crossed the void once again. Before it even appeared, the Photon Dragon turned and fired another energy blast, which was exactly where the Demon Marshal had teleported to.

The Demon Marshal fired its energy ball, which collided with the small black sphere, causing two clashing entities that resembled planets to burst.

Whoosh!

The small energy sphere released by the Enigmatic Photon Dragon delved deep inside the energy bomb unleashed by the Demon Marshal. Within the energy bomb, the small energy sphere passed through and vaporized the energy bomb, as it quickly blasted the Demon Marshal.

After finishing the Demon Marshal, the photon dragon turned to look at the Faceless One. Its wings flapped slightly, as it fired a small energy sphere.

The Faceless One flapped its three pairs of wings. A small gust, created from a single flap, seeped forward and dispersed the small energy sphere.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Three energy spheres were fired rapidly in succession. Each of them flew straight, but in a slightly different location, forming a triangle. The faceless being flapped its wings and took flight, as the spheres seemed as though they would pass right by, they suddenly changed trajectory and turned straight up into the air.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Two more spheres were fired with different timing from each other. The first sphere was smaller, while the second was bigger. The smaller sphere took flight, with the larger one trailing from behind.

The Faceless One moved its huge body and protected itself with its wings. The three energy spheres landed, creating smoke that covered everyone's sight. Similarly, the two spheres that came later too landed.

Bang! Bang!

The Photon Dragon took flight, with its incredible speed, it arrived within the smoke and made its move within the smoke. It wasn't until the smoke cleared, that everyone could see the results.

In the air, a large black ball could be seen. Looking at it, it was obvious that the ball was the Faceless One, curled up into a ball. It's previous human skin color and white wings had now taken a reverse and turned completely dark in color.

Under the cover of the smoke, few people had seen what had happened. It didn't take long for the smoke to clear, but it was obvious who the winner of the battle was. The Faceless One was curled up into a ball, while the Enigmatic Photon Dragon was back in its original spot as if it had been there all along.

While the battle was over, the Faceless One remained curled up into a ball. Surrounding its entire body, was a thin and transparent black energy. Ye Qin's eyes lit up as he noticed it.

"Interesting, it's evolving all on its own after a battle. Now, it shall become a true Hundun." he thought.

After a few moments, the Faceless One returned to the Monster sea while it was still in the midst of its evolution. Of course, not many people realized this, only Ye Qin knew what would happen the next time it was summoned.

Since the battle was over, the War God academy had beaten the Heaven's Gate. With the battle over, it would soon be Heaven's Gate and the Battle Temple to determine third place. Before the battle begins, Ye Qin had a job to do.

Outside the stadium, Ye Qin met the leader of the Battle Temple inside a private room. "Did you bring everything?" he asked.

The captain of the Battle Temple nodded; "It took a bit longer than expected, but everything is here. How confident are you?"

"100%." Ye Qin replied. He then pointed towards the large pot that was placed in the middle of the room. "Er, you aren't planning to…"

"Indeed." Ye Qin cut him off before he could finish his sentence. Taking the ingredients that were prepared, Ye Qin opened them and threw them all into the pot. Of course, he made sure there was water inside before he had begun, and also lit up the flames underneath.

Glob! Glob!

After twenty minutes, or so, he looked over to the bald monk. The monk nodded, as he summoned his partner from the Monster sea. It followed his instructions and jumped directly into the large pot.

Once it did so, Ye Qin placed the lid on top of the pot and watched the fire. Another twenty minutes later, the pot started shaking. Loud sounds from boiling liquid were heard from the pot. Purple gold smoke rose and seeped through the minuscule gaps that separated the pot and the lid, filling the entire room.

Fortunately, it wasn't a kind of harmful smoke, so the fire alarm didn't go off. Ten minutes of shaking later, the lid popped off on its own. Ye Qin picked it up before it fell to the ground and shattered, putting it into his storage space.

From within the pot, a terrible demonic and buddhist light could be seen at the same time. Overbearing opposing forces were contained within a single entity. The combined might of the two powers which had been incredibly powerful, enough to blow away mountains, has now become even more violent than before.

Jumping out of the pot, Ye Qin moved the pot away as he had a look at the newly evolved monster.

The Demon Abbot had now evolved, becoming much stronger than it had been less than an hour ago. Just by standing there, one could hear Buddhist scriptures being recited, and an ongoing 'ohm' sound at the same time. It's presence alone, gave off incredible power, capable of scaring away its foes.

Seeing its increased strength, Ye Qin nodded in satisfaction. "It's good enough now, but be warned, you're not the only one who got stronger," he told the monk as he left without waiting for a reply.

When Ye Qin returned to his seat, Wang Tao noticed the smell lingering from his body. Even though it was faint, he could still smell it nonetheless. Since he could guess what happened, he didn't say anything and awaited the next match.
