18 Sun Zhan III
As it came closing in on the Fiery Molten Ape, though it wasn't moving fast, it appeared as though it were walking slowly even at a speed of thirty kilometers an hour! The female demon's hands grew even darker in color as it reached the Molten Ape's stomach and pressed one of its palms tightly.
Roar! Roar!
With the other palm, Chen Jingyi's monster slammed down its other palm onto the same spot as it blew back the Fiery Molten Ape over dozens of meters whilst it crashed through some rubble lying around on the ground which halted it from being blown out completely.
Roar! Roar!
The two attacks by the female demon dealt devastating damage to the Fiery Molten Ape as the cracks in its armor became larger as it slowly began to crumble and fall apart on its own.
Crack!
After all its earthen armor shed off, the Fiery Molten Ape roared as it gathered both fire and earth element energy inside its mouth. Not only that, with its armor off, but the Molten Ape also became more nimble and agile as it ran on its feet coming closer and closer to Chen Jingyi's monster.
As it came closer, the energy gathered formed a large ball as it fired it towards the female demon.
Bzz! Bzz!
Shee! Shee!
The female demon laughed as it waited for the energy ball to come closer before it blasted a small energy ball from its palm. That same energy from the demon expanded in size as it reached for the Molten Ape's attack and completely neutralized the attack whilst its own one came brushing by the Fiery Molten Ape.
Roar!
After that attack, the Fiery Molten Ape was no longer able to battle. Seeing this, the other students from both sides withdrew their monsters. Just as the referee was about to call for the end of the match, Sun Zan said loudly, "Wait!"
"What's wrong, student Sun Zan?" the referee asked puzzled.
"I can still fight, don't call it off yet." Sun Zan replied.
"But your monster is down… What do you??"
Before the referee could even finish his sentence, with a flash of purple light, a yellow monkey that was much smaller than the Fiery Molten Ape in both size and weight appeared and replaced the Molten Ape on the field.
"Wha!..." the referee gasped.
"No way!!!! Sun Zan still has another monster?!" someone in the crowd yelled as he almost cracked his own voice from that.
"Incredible! Sun Zan will be famous in the future!!!" another student yelled.
"Sun Zan! I want your babies!!!" some female students screamed.
"..."
Suddenly, a recruiter from the War God Academy said loudly "An exceptional genius! To be able to have another monster means his soul is extraordinary! Sun Zan! Whether you win or lose this fight, the War God Academy will welcome you!"
The human soul. A source of power or energy which remains a mystery to humanity. Some may have doubted that it existed. However, now a thousand years later, all humans would believe in its power.
Throughout history, very few had been born with two or even three monsters. The reason for that was the human soul itself! When forming a contract with a monster from the age of four, the human soul would manifest as a source of power that takes in the contracted monster.
Those with exceptional souls would be able to take in more monsters and no known reason for that could be explained. Many believe that only those born with such exceptional souls were blessings from heaven that would lead humanity to a greater path.
In the past, a legend spread throughout humanity about a flower called the Soul Expanse flower that like the name implies could expand the size of the human soul which would enable them to form a contract with another monster.
Though this was just a legend and its existence was never proven.
Shortly afterward, the recruiters from Nine Peaks Academy shouted "We the Nine Peaks Academy also welcomes you with open arms!"
"So do we the Heaven's Gate Academy!" one from the Heaven Gate Academy shouted too.
"What? Are you picking a fight? I called for him first!" the War God Academy recruiter shouted at the other two.
"So what? It's not a first come first serve business! Sun Zan if you come to the Nine Peaks Academy, we will immediately place you in the genius class and provide you with an extra 10% of our resources!"
"What? Just 10%? We at Heaven's Gate will offer 20%!"
"Pfft! You want to fight with me using a measly 20%? We at the War God Academy will offer 40%!"
"What?!"
Hearing that offer, the other two recruiters wanted to puke blood while the War God recruiter gave the other two a sly smile.

"I was right wasn't I?" Ye Qin said.
"Of course, I knew it was possible when you said it the other day." Wang Tao nodded.
Mo Qiu sitting down turned around and asked "What? Ye Qin, you already knew this? How?"
Coughs*
Ye Qin coughed a few times as a bead of sweat slid down his forehead as he replied slowly "Err, I don't really know, cough*. I was sensitive in feeling the energy of people's soul power since I was little so I guessed."
Wang Tao wanted to laugh as he covered his mouth listening to Ye Qin's excuse which somehow managed to convince Mo Qiu since she didn't say anything afterward making Wang Tao frown slightly.
"Wtf? That works too?" he thought.

"I see.." the referee said in shock.
"The match is not over! Student Sun Zan is still able to battle, match resume!"
Sun Zan nodded as his lightning element monkey which was the size of a female human in height and had some thin limbs that lacked some power but were made up for in agility and speed.

Sun Zan's Thunder Gale Monkey has golden fur that spread throughout its body whilst some parts of its body had winged like armor that covered its chest, shoulders, wrists, ankles, and head. Its long tail that hung by its side was over one meter in length whilst the end of it is shaped like a bolt of lightning.
Standing proudly on the field, the Thunder Gale Monkey had a golden sword in one hand that was as long as its tail and in the other, a purple short sword that was half the length of the golden sword.
Ooh! Ohh! Ah! Ah!
The Thunder Gale Monkey cried as it lowered its body and took the stance of a martial artist whilst pointing its sharp weapons at Chen Jingyi's demon.
"Now that I look at it properly, doesn't it seem kinda similar to him?" Wang Tao whispered to Ye Qin.
Ye Qin whispered back without catching Mo Qiu or Tang Yaling's attention "Indeed, though it's future growth won't be as high as his."
"True, how can a king lose to its subjects." Wang Tao nodded as he paid attention back to the field down below.
Sun Zan's Thunder Gale Monkey took a step forward as the ground beneath it shook, that single step forward covered a distance of ten meters as it rushed towards Chen Jingyi's demon.
Woosh!
With a single swing of its two swords, it appeared behind the demon in the same stance as streaks of blood slowly appear on the demon's body.
Shee?
As deep purple blood dripped from its wounds, the demon's smile became wilder as it disappeared from its location and once again stood in front of the Thunder Gale Monkey.
Woosh! Woosh!
The two figures disappeared and reappeared in different locations throughout the field creating afterimages of their explosive battle. The endless barrage of fast-paced attacks from both monsters created a strong shockwave that blew back the crowd. Some people even had a new hairstyle because of the shockwaves!
Woosh! Woosh!
The fast-paced battle continued for a long time as streaks of different shades of purple clashed. Not only did streaks of lights materialized and appear in the air, but a metallic sound also resounded throughout the field.
After a while, the two monsters once again appeared at the center of the field becoming visible to the crowd. The Thunder Gale Monkey's armor had cracks all over whilst the demon's hair became shriveled however, no visible wounds could be seen. They then both jumped back towards the end of their respective sides as the Thunder Gale Monkey's golden sword glowed purple whilst the short sword glew green. The monkey then held the two swords together as the two weapons slowly fused together creating a larger sword with both green and purple lights.
The merged sword gave off an immense pressure as the Thunder Gale Monkey took the stance of a samurai with the sword held in both its golden hands. The female demon's palm glew dark pink as a small circular flow of demon element energy rotated within. That same energy rotated until it became completely white which made the energy ball appear like an eyeball.
"This attack will end it." Ye Qin said in the stands.

The Thunder Gale Monkey made the first move as it disappeared from its spot as the two-handed sword grew larger and larger in size until it almost reached the female demon. It then cut down at its foe with its mighty sword as Chen Jingyi's demon's placed its palm forward whilst the energy ball flew out from its hands and clashed with the giant sword.
In the midst of the clash, the sword appeared to have cut down the dark pink energy of the demon. However, before this could happen, the energy ball pushed back the sword as it grew in size whilst pushing back the Thunder Gale Monkey along with its mighty sword.
"Sun Zan is getting pushed back!" someone in the crowd shouted.
"Chen Jingyi is just too strong!" another shouted.
The demon's attack grew until it expanded to a size of ten meters in radius as the ground that it grazed by disintegrated into nothing whilst the attack completely consumed the Thunder Gale Monkey making it completely disappear from sight.
Suddenly, the dark pink energy ball popped like a bubble as the golden Thunder Gale Monkey's armor completely shattered whilst large wounds appeared throughout its body as well as the color in its eyes were lost. It then dropped to the ground forwards like a true warrior as the two monsters returned to their master's respective monster sea.
"Winner, Chen Jingyi!" the referee said through his mic which resounded clearly in the ears of the crowd and entered their hearts.
Chen Jingyi left along with her team members as soon as she won while Sun Zan smiled bitterly as he stared into the sky. Once the match was announced to be over, the bright sky suddenly loomed over with patches of dark clouds as the sound of thunder rocked whilst heavy rain fell into the stadium.
"The remaining matches will be delayed until the rain clears up! Everyone return to your rooms!" the referee said in his mic as he ran away from the rain.
The students and teachers of other schools left the stadium with haste whilst Ye Qin and Wang Tao stayed behind under shade to watch Sun Zan who didn't move from his location even after he had lost for a while.
"Boss, should we?" Wang Tao asked.
"..."
"Let's go, with a personality like his, he will be back in no time." Ye Qin replied as the two brothers slowly walked to their dorm rooms while trying not to sound edgy.
