9 A Familiar Figure
As they left the cave and stepped back onto the platform, it started moving back down towards the cave exit. While they were standing on it, the hundreds of monkeys all cried out once more before disappearing slowly in large groups leaving behind just the treetops whilst clouds began covering the entire room.
Shake! Shake!
Rumble! Rumble!
Walking back through the cave once again, the two boys noticed the drawings on the cave walls were slightly different to the first time they passed by. The once white drawings that appeared to be like chalk or paint are now slightly golden while purple-coloured clouds covered some of the drawings throughout the cave giving it a cloudy feel.
Step! Step1
As they left the cave and took a step outside, the cave entrance was blocked off automatically by an unknown force.
Rumble! Rumble!
As if the cave were trying to hide, the purple mist started filling up the space around them whilst the floating islands and waterfalls slowly disappeared into the blue skies. Leaving the strange place, the boys called out their monsters and took flight as they watched the island disappear from their sight.

"Boss, there's still a while left, should we head back now?" Wang Tao asked.
"..."
After pondering for a brief moment, Ye Qin replied "No, let's keep searching for monsters and get stronger before we return. I want us to take the top two places in the exam."
Wang Tao looked off into the distance as he said softly "The top huh, of course, a small place as this cannot contain us for long. Only when we show the world what we are made of are we truly men."
The two then flew off far away from the Monkey King's island as they searched far and wide throughout a twenty-kilometre distance.

Spending two weeks flying throughout the Abandoned Lands, Ye Qin and Wang Tao managed to gather a majority of the required items to evolve and upgrade all of the former's monsters. Though they spent a while, the boys didn't manage to find any materials required to increase the grade of Ye Qin's dragons to the Rare grade.
Not only this, but Ye Qin's twin dragons also managed to reach level 19 and the Monkey King reached level 12, while Wang Tao's Blackgold Python Tiger reached level 22. With this, the boys were almost certain they could take the top two places whilst Wang Tao also managed to learn the necessary knowledge to easily score full marks in the written exam.
Now, with just over a week left, the two boys spent it trying to search for evolution materials that aren't for themselves, but rather to sell and increase their budget for the future. Over the few weeks, the seven mysterious orbs showed no reaction whatsoever even when the two spent some time studying them every day.
Ye Qin and Wang Tao spent the remaining few days making a return journey and got a bit of XP and materials on the way back. However, they didn't think a monster even stronger than the Blazing Elephant would appear in such a weak region.
Roar! Roar!
Off in the distance, a huge treant monster ravaged throughout the lands creating a path of destruction and waste whenever it went. Ye Qin scanned it and couldn't help to exclaim in shock seeing its overwhelming stats.

[Description- a treant that spent thousands of years growing itself, becoming the overlord of its region and race. Its body is incredibly tough making it impervious to weapons, even if a piece were to be chipped off, it can instantly regrow it using its enormous life energy]
Ye Qin and Wang Tao stayed far away in the skies and kept a distance as to not be discovered by it. The former looked far into the distance by synchronizing himself with the Monkey King enabling him to use it's abilities to an extent.
Ye Qin noticed this new function after successfully forming a pact with the Great Sage whilst the meteor located between his two eyes started shining the first time it happened accidentally scaring the crap out of him.
Looking forward, he saw a small white figure flying close to the Overlord Treant causing him to sweat for that person with such guts. Seeing that figure, Ye Qin thought "I wonder what it takes to grow *alls as big as that person to go up to such a monster by themselves…"
Squinting his eyes and zooming in on the figure, he noticed that it was actually a girl! A girl with long white hair that reached her buttocks faced the Overlord Treant whilst standing on the head of a black dragon.
"A dragon type?! Looking at it closely, it's even stronger than the Blazing Elephant! Also that figure... It seems familiar, where have I seen it before?" Ye Qin thought as he checked the dragon's stats.

"That's hella OP!!! But is it enough to face the Overlord Treant?" Ye Qin thought as he kept watching. "Huh boss what are you looking at so intently?" Fatty Wang interrupted.
"Oh right, let me share my vision with you." Ye Qin replied.
During his experiments, Ye Qin realized he could share his vision with Wang Tao enabling them both to see the same thing at the same time, making it incredibly useful for team battles.
The sole white-haired girl standing far into the distance, on her pitch-black dragon stared off at the Overlord Treant as it flapped its four wings. The Overlord Treant continuing its mayhem turned to face the small dragon fluttering its wings near its eyes and spoke without moving its mouth.
"A Dragon? How can a great being such as a Dragon submit to a human! You're a disgrace to our kind!"
Roar!
"What the, that tree can talk?!" Wang Tao exclaimed.
"Monsters with a lifespan of over 10000 years gain spiritual wisdom allowing them to speak the language of humans. This tree is obviously just slightly older than that, it's not surprising that it can speak." The Great Sage said next to the two boys whilst hovering on its cloud.
"I see." Wang Tao nodded as they continued watching.
The Enigmatic Photon Dragon stared at the Overlord Dragon and roared scaring off nearby monsters. The white-haired girl above it patted its head as it flew in closer, dragging its wings together allowing it to fly more precisely at faster speeds.
Moving in closer, avoiding the vines spewing from the Overlord Treant's hands, the black dragon fired pink balls of energy like blasts continuously at it like a machine gun.
Roar! Roar!
The Overlord Treant, taking damage continuously, planted its hands into the ground as huge spears made of incredibly hard wood pierced through the ground and tried to plough away at the black dragon. However, the dragon easily dodged every attack coming at its way whilst continuing its attack on the tree.
The Treant seeing that its attacks were not working became enraged as its body became darker in color as it blew spores of black mist from its mouth around it making it almost impossible to see
Woosh!
Flap! Flap!
Flying upward, the black dragon didn't look away as it charged up an attack and waited until it had gathered enough energy before firing just like Wang Tao's Blackgold Python Tiger's dual Gold and Ice elemental ball.
Woop! Woop!
Woop!
Zzzzzzz!
Bzzzz!
The energy gathered formed a large ball the size of a small mountain after a few minutes, the treant hiding itself in the black mist ridiculed the dragon as it continued waiting for its attack to arrive.
Pah!
The Enigmatic Photon Dragon fired a bomb made up of the Dark and Energy elements into the center of the black mist that covered a vast area of over three kilometers.
Woosh!
The energy blast soared through the skies, though it looked slow, it actually flew at speeds faster than a regular cheetah could run over 1000 years ago!
The Overlord Treant summoned a huge wall made entirely of wood and shielded itself from the huge energy blast. However, it still couldn't completely block it off as its huge body slowly moved back and dug further and further into the ground whilst it dispersed some of the energy into two other directions right behind it.
Woosh!
Flap! Flap!
The landscape changed entirely as the areas that were hit by the energy bomb vaporized into nothing whilst the Overlord Treant's body got stuck deep into the earth.
"..."
"..."
Whistles!
"Boss, she's really strong huh. I wonder when we will be that strong." Wang Tao couldn't help but say.
"I don't know, but one day we will eventually get there and surpass even that." Ye Qin replied as the trio continued watching the battle.

Growing tired of the fight, the Overlord Treant quickly regrow its destroyed body before unleashing a frenzy of undodgeable vines and caught the black dragon in the air. It controlled the vines and slammed the dragon down onto the earth along with the white-haired girl sitting on it.
Bang!
A huge cloud of dust blew around the crater in the ground as a black dragon and white-haired girl covered in blood lying on the ground. Seeing this, Ye Qin quickly called his Golden Dragon and flew off without notice making Wang Tao have no choice but to follow him at their greatest speeds.
