First Encounter

It's been one year since Percy been on Silka Island. He and Zed has been training his devil fruit to the point where his teacher feels comfortable to test his abilities in real world combat. In addition to training his devil fruit, Zed made sure to finish training the last 2 of the navy martial arts, rankyaku and shigan so that Percy can study the final of the navy martial arts, rokugan. It was difficult for Percy, there were plenty nights where he felt like giving up. His devil fruit was unlike any other, there was a voice in the back of his head whispering to him that he should just kill every one he meets including his teacher.

He did not appreciate that. In fact he mentioned that to Zed, his teacher laughed and told him that it's part of his responsibility, reigning in those voices.

"Oh Sengoku-san how are you today ZAZAZAZAZA" Zed laughed into the den den mushi.

"Hah, I'm tired Zed" Sengoku sighed. "How is Percy doing? Kong and I are still curious on his progress."

"Oh Percy, he's alright. Right now he's about as strong about a commodore and rear admiral. He needs experience, he only practices so I cannot say for certain."

"I see, that's not too bad. Has he learned haki yet?"

"Hell no! We barely had time to learn about his power and rokushiki, yet alone training his body. How the hell do you want me to teach him haki with only one in a half years?"

"HAHAHAHA true true, my bad Zed. Any way you job is to escort Percy to get some experience against some pirates in the Grand line. There is a nasty little group of pirates that just entered from the South Blue calling themselves the Elliot pirates and I want Percy to take care of them."

"Ha-fine I'll let Percy know. Oy! Percy! Get your shit together! We're setting out!"

"Yes Sir" Percy said in the background.

Four days later a marine battleship was sailing in the the first half of the Grand line or what many called paradise. This is is because the second half, the New world is so treacherous, that this part seems like paradise compared to the latter. Percy and his teacher were on said battleship and were staring at the ocean thinking about their training experiences over the past year or so.

Percy was deep in thought

[I have some idea on the direction on the development of my powers, I just need to polish them in the future. Hopefully this battle can solidify some of my ideas and I can formulate my own battle strategy in the future.]

Zed seemed to come out of his stupor, "Percy, the higher ups are very curious about your development, as you know, your devil fruit is the same as Rocks D Xebec. If you want any freedom in the future, you need to prove to them that you have the strength to back up your wish."

"I understand" Percy said solemnly.

He was not an idiot. Of course Sengoku was going to monitor him. How could he not. Therefore, Percy was going to crush everything in his way for his first mission.

"What do we know about the Elliot pirates?"

"Not much, bunch of brats who think that they're hot shit because they slaughtered their way into the Grand line. They don't even have a devil fruit or haki. ZAZAZAZAZA. You are allowed to do as you see fit. This is an evaluation of your powers from Sengoku and Kong, I am already aware of how strong you are. I know you are already powerful enough to crush them."

"Thank you sir."

They reached an island during the middle of the night and the marine ship docked onto the harbor.

"Zed, you think I should wait till tomorrow because if I go now it will be to unfair for the pirates."

When the marines on the ship heard Percy called Zed without his honorific everyone winced, no one called Zed that. Zed didn't mind. He got used to it, they stayed together for a year on a island by themselves, using honorifics all the time would have been in poor taste.

"Nah, it's their fault if they are unprepared for what is to come. Blame themselves if they have no one on guard duty."

Percy nodded at his instructor and jumped onto the pier and headed into town looking for where the pirates were sleeping.

He headed to the nearest bar and opened the door. Everyone turned and looked at him with their eyes winding. He looked down upon himself and noticed that he still had his navy uniform on and grimaced. Of course he forgot, what an idiot. His master was probably laughing his ass off at the ship right now. The people around him started to get up when Percy started to talk,

"hold up everyone, I'm only looking for the Elliot pirates. If you can point me out to them, I'll be on my way."

There was a brief pause in the room before everyone started to sit down. No one wanted to waste their buzz messing with the marines. Percy nodded his head before heading to the barkeeper.

"Barkeep, as I said, where is the Elliot pirates?"

"Sir, I don't know." the barkeep responded while looking anxious. Percy noticed that he fidgeting around and Percy was not sure what was going on. He looked around and noticed that 2 men were staring daggers at him and when he stared back, they got up and went outside.

Percy turned back around and asked again,

"are they threating the town?"

The barkeep keep silent and shook his head, he wrote something down and handed it to Percy. He read and it said to him

*middle of town next to the fanciest house. Elliot pirates have taken the mayor's wife and son hostage with all the children in the town. Please help.*

[This got a lot more complicated] Percy thought to himself. The original plan was to suck everyone around them into nothingness and crush them and be done within 5 seconds. Now this job required much more subtly.

Percy headed to the targeted area but instead of going on foot, he instead traveled through darkness. Yes, one of his new found abilities is to travel through anything that was dark, be it shadows or at night. This made Percy the perfect assassin, he was able to kill his opponents at any time during nighttime. This is why he was reluctant to fight the pirates right away, it was not a true demonstration of his abilities if he fought now because it was not fair for them.

Either way though, Percy was inside and he had a job to do.

[There are 60 pirates in this mansion and 70 hostages, not too bad.] Percy thought to himself. He was walking through the darkness as he was inspecting his surroundings as he was figuring out the best point of attack against the pirates. [Hmmm, the captain should be.... that guy.] Percy pointed at a man with a rather large belly with 4 guns on his belt and a tricorne on his head. [He is surrounded by booze. How is he a captain?]

Percy mustered up his courage, this will be his first time killing. He has never done this before and even though these men have done some truly horrendous things, killing is still killing. He prepared himself and shouted in his mind at the 60 pirates,

[kuro yari] (black spear) all of the sudden the night was pierced by screams of men being stabbed by smoke coming out of their bodies. Percy invented this technique by combining shigan with his devil fruit. Especially at nighttime, shigan became one of the most lethal attack move available to Percy making him a deadly assassin.

Percy appeared out of nowhere staring at the pirates writhing in pain as they were screaming at their gaping wounds in their chests. The captain fared a little better than his crewmates.

"You little shit, what did you do to us?"

Percy looked at his mercilessly. Only what you did to other people, just paying it forward I guess.

[Shigan]

Percy used his attack again and again until the captain finally died after the fourth black tendril pierced his skin. By then the women and children had already woken up and were terrified up the black-covered Percy.

"Relax everyone" Percy said reassuringly. "My name is Percy and I am from the navy I was sent to rescue you guys."

No one was calm after they heard that, Percy did not expect them to, his fruit was evil after all, he sighed and walked away. He got out his den den mushi and called his teacher,

"Zed."

"What took so long? Chickened out? ZAZAZAZAZA."

*sigh* "No...." Percy started to explain the situation to the admiral. "and that's why I took longer than expected, have some men come over and rescue the women and children, you know I'm not good with this crap."

"ZAZAZAZAZA alright. I'll send some people over, hey at least you didn't receive any damage and it was easy right?"

"I think I need to go on another mission, this wasn't enough for me to experiment with for me to figure out my fighting style with sir."

"Yeah, I thought so."

"So I got good news and bad news about that. What do you want to hear first?"

"Good news."

"Good news is that I will be accompanying you on one more mission, the bad news is that after that, Garp is taking over and you're heading to the New World for preliminary haki training ZAZAZAZA."
