Friends With Benefits. The Google definition is

(used as a euphemism) a friend with whom one has sex without a romantic relationship or commitment.

I guess you could say they are right. But some people just don't have sex. Some just make out. Some go to first base, or to second, just depending on the age.

 And who you are dealing with. Now, I have met a lot of people in life. Some arrogant self-absorbed assholes. And some really nice and caring people.

We all have our fair share of people who are WAY too judgemental.

 The ones who think they are all that. And most of the time, the truth is that they are just people who are so sad and depressed with their life that they have to make others feel bad.

Let's talk about my EX best friend Izzy Lawson.

I was 16 when I asked her this question.

 Now, by this time. I was already in a friend with benefits. But that's a story for another time.

 I asked Izzy what she thought of a person who is involved in friends with benefits. Now before I tell you her answer, here is something you should know about Izzy. 

She is a stuck up rich bitch who thinks daddy is gonna buy her everything. But what she doesn't know is that her daddy is a cheating bastard who likes to screw his secretary.

But she had to make the most snarky comment to my question.

I remember her words like it was yesterday.

"Anyone who starts friends with benefits is a lonely whore. They are so sad and depressing that they can't even find themselves a boyfriend to screw. My mom tells me that sex is only for people who love each other. And a person who gets themselves involved in friends with benefits just needs somebody to love them."

What a snarky comment right? Like what the hell does she know? She's still a virgin so she doesn't know shit.

But I truly can't say bad things about the comment. 

Cause I use to think the exact same. Until my 14th birthday party. No, I didn't lose my virginity on my 14th birthday. 

 As I said earlier friends with benefits can mean multiple things. Sex or just making out.

And that's what it was. Just making out.

6 YEARS AGO

"Come on. It's just a dare, do it." Izzy said.

"I'm not going to kiss him! He's my best friend." I said.

"It's just one kiss. 5 seconds minimum. He's a 14-year-old boy. I don't think he would mind." Izzy said.

"Are you okay with this Logan?" I asked him.

I didn't want to do anything without his permission since he had a girlfriend. His girlfriend Minnie is a very nice person. I just don't want him to cheat on her.

"It's fine. Minnie won't mind. As long as it's a dare." Logan said.

I thought about it for a second and he is right. Minnie loves Truth Or Dare and what Logan said made sense. As long as it was for a dare, it didn't really matter.

But Minnie also isn't here to interject.

I did invite Minnie to the party, but she had to go visit her sick grandmother in Texas. 

"Whatever," I said.

Izzy and I were sitting on the love seat that was across from Logan, Michael, and Meredith.

Michael is Izzy's boyfriend and Meredith is another girl in our group. I stood up from the couch and walked over toward Logan.

This wasn't my first kiss. That's not what I was worried about.

I was worried that this might affect our friendship somehow. Which I didn't want.

Logan and I have been best friends since we were 5. We met at the playground and became inseparable ever since.

"Hurry Up!" Izzy said quickly getting impatient.

"God Izzy. Shut up." Meredith said.

"Whatever Meredith. Just hurry up Aria. We all still have our turn. Just sit on his lap and kiss him. I told you, you only have to do it for 5 seconds." Izzy said.

I turned to her and nodded.

I finally was standing in front of Logan. He seemed a little tense.

"Are you sure?" I  mouthed to him and he nodded.

I placed my legs on either side of him so I was straddling him.

Minnie would not like this at all. 

"Let's just get it over with," I said leaning in. I closed my eyes and seconds later I felt Logan's lips meet mine. 

He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer.

From that 5 second kiss turned into a full-on makeout session. I don't even remember how his tongue got into my mouth. I just felt our tongues battling for dominance.

"Love Birds," Izzy said tapping my shoulder.

I pulled away from Logan.

I turned to my head to her but Logan still had his hands around my waist.

"Luckily Minnie wasn't here to see that," Michael said.

Minnie, right.

I quickly got off of Logan and took my seat back next to Izzy.

"Damn Logan. I thought you were going to suffocate our girl Aria." Meredith joked.

Logan rolled his eyes.

"Please don't tell Minnie," he said.

"Your secret is safe with us," Izzy said.

"Now who is next?" Michael said.

"I am," Meredith spoke out.

"Truth or Dare?"  Izzy asked.

"Dare," she said

"I dare you to tell Minnie that Logan just made out with Aria," Izzy said.

Fucking bitch!

"Meredith don't!" I yelled.

"Oh shut it. It's a dare." Izzy griped.

"And it's MY birthday. Please don't Minnie." I begged.

I looked over to Logan who was looking like he was about to have a heart attack.

He really liked Minnie and I know he wants to be with her. Izzy is trying to ruin that. For reasons, I do not know.

"She's right Izzy. It's her birthday. She gets what she wants." Meredith said.

Meredith is wrong actually. But Meredith is more my friend then Izzy. 

Nobody truly likes Izzy in our group. But we are all to scared to tell her the truth, she would ruin us all at school. As well as my parents would never speak to me again.

My father works for Izzy's father. 

That's actually how I found out that her father is having an affair. He actually has a son. But Izzy doesn't know about him.

"Whatever," Izzy said. She laid back into the love seat.

"Aria. It's time for your friends to go home." My mom said.

I nodded.

"Can Logan stay over?" I asked her and she nodded.

We all said our goodbyes and Logan and I headed downstairs.

"I'm sorry about Izzy. I wouldn't' have kissed you if I knew she was planning to do that." I said as we sat on the couch.

"It's not your fault. She is just a bitch. She really hates Minnie cause Minnie stands up to her. Se would do anything to get rid of her." Logan said.

He was right, Izzy HATES Minnie.

"So about that kiss," I said.

I knew we had to talk about it. We aren't good with things unsaid.

That's why we work so well together, cause we are so alike.

"Yeah, we need to talk about that don't we?" He said.

"Definitely," I said.

"Look, I'm just going to admit it now. I really enjoyed that kiss Aria. You and I both know it." Logan said.

He's right. I've only kissed about 5 people. Mostly due to dares. But 2 were from my actual boyfriends. But luckily I am single now or Logan would be in a fight tomorrow.

"What does it matter if we both like it or not? You have a girlfriend Logan. Who you adore and she definitely adores you." I said.

"But, look. I don't want to ruin anything that we have. But how about we just mess around for a bit." He said.

"What do you mean by mess around?" I asked him.

"Like make out." He said.

"That's cheating Logan. Minnie is my friend and I wouldn't do that to her." I said.

"It's not like she's ever going to find out. And it's not like we are going to have sex. So what does it matter?" He said.

"I'm not going to let you cheat on her Logan," I said.

Logan rolled his eyes and grabbed me so I was sitting on his lap.

"Kiss me now. And if you don't want then fine. But I want you to kiss me." He said.

It shouldn't be that hard right? I've done it before.

Less than an hour ago actually. But I knew deep down, that if my friends weren't there, then something could have happened between us.

"Fine. One kiss. But only to prove to you that I don't want to get into anything messy." I said.

He nodded.

"Whatever you want." He said before kissing me.

This kiss wasn't the same as before.

This kiss was rougher. Like he was trying to prove a point somehow. LIke he was trying to show me what it would be like to make out with him daily.

I know I don't want him to cheat on Minnie, but how could I say no?
