6 SIX
Plutos sits on the sofa in the lounge and gets comfortable as he speaks to the two blue beings in the projection.
PLUTOS
"Hello there, Men. Sun. I take it Lord Kai Talafan Has left for a short period."
SUN
"Yes. he has."
MEN
"We will be watching over you for the time being while he's out."
SUN
"Only if you really need it though. But we know you can handle it just fine."
MEN
"Plutos is a quick thinker after all."
SUN
"So what are you calling for? Another update?"
MEN
"For a lazy bloke, you work fast."
PLUTOS
"Yes, yes. You don't even know half the struggle I had to go through to get this far so soon. At least made an acquaintance that can help me learn of this planet's nature. There seems to be a lot… and I emphasize… A. LOT. Of things that I need to understand about this world. And I still don't know what it is about this place that made him think it was worth watching. I went through all of their daily information and history of the place and so much detail was left out and made the mysteries of this planet annoyingly vague."
MEN
"That sounds about right."
SUN
"Seems like you found what made this planet take Kai Talafan's interest."
PLUTOS
"Huh? You mean the vague mysteries?"
MEN
"Uh-huh."
SUN
"This planet has the most interracial population in this current universe since it's literally in the center of the traffic."
MEN
"So, with that in mind, Talafan-sama wanted to find out if there are any other species out there that have been accommodating the planet as they please."
SUN
"As such, you should try to figure out what you can discover in this sector you're in."
PLUTOS
"So, let's just say I have done that and found myself in a pinch since I've been here."
SUN
"Did you break something?"
MEN
"Also where are your brothers?"
PLUTOS
"Well first of all, no. I technically didn't break anything. And, secondly, Hypo told us to spread out to cover more ground since this sector is very massive."
SUN
"Oh?"
PLUTOS
"Hypo has taken refuge in the southern region. Thermo is up north. And I reside here in the east. The west is basically abandoned, so we chose to keep our ship there."
MEN
"So what trouble are you in, Plutos?"
PLUTOS
"Nothing I can't fix at this moment. In fact it is currently in the process of being resolved now."
SUN
"Feh. that's no fun."
MEN
"Oh well. Keep up the good work. We'll let the supreme Kai know of your current situation when he returns from sector 5.
PLUTOS
"Ah. tell those three I send my regards when you get the chance.
SUN
"Will do."
The projection stops and the large case closes. Plutos stayed seated on the sofa now irritated after his talk.
PLUTOS
"I swear, those "angels" are little devils in disguise. Trying to pick a fight with me. They always know how to get on someone's nerves. What's Miu doing right now?
Meanwhile at the Kosuke household, Miu and Matsuda stood by the door after sending Officer Kosuke off to work.
MATSUDA
"Well. that went better than expected."
MIU
"Yeah. Now we just need to pray that Mr. Kosuke really doesn't get it tampered with."
MATSUDA
"Ooh. yeah. That is gonna be a problem. We better talk to officer Flute and make sure it goes smoothly."
MIU
"Yeah lets do that. Mrs. Kosuke! We're going to the station! We'll be back later!"
MRS. KOSUKE
"Be careful out there! Why don't you invite our neighbor to go with you?"
MIU/MATSUDA
"Huh??"
It's close to noon and Plutos is hovering over the neighborhood thinking of what to do next while looking at a projected map that appears on a thin wrist band he put on.
PLUTOS
"For the heavens, this city is much larger than I anticipated. So many rundown places as well yet nothing is being told about them on the network. I wonder if Miu knows something… hm?"
An alarm beeps in front of his map and suddenly shows the front of his door. Miu and Matsuda were standing in front of his front door. Plutos became curious about what they wanted but he had a job to do. He soon gets an idea and decides to return to greet them.
At Plutos' house Miu knocks on the front door for the second time. Matsuda was leaning against the wall next to her looking through his messaging his Officer kosuke through his phone.
MATSUDA
"I told dad to Hand that device to Mr. Flute if he runs into him. Doubt he'll listen but it'll get him thinking for a while before we get there."
MIU
"Yeah, okay. I hope Plutos is okay with walking with us there."
MATSUDA
"Why wouldn't he be?"
MIU
"Uh! Who knows? I was just wondering. After all, I still don't know that much about him."
MATSUDA
"Uh-huh. Is he even home right now? I mean sure it hasn't been that long since he was at our place but…"
Plutos lands on the pathway to his door quietly so he doesn't alert them to him being in the air.
PLUTOS
"Well I was out for a bit but I could go for a tour."
Miu and Matsuda look out to the pathway at Plutos startled by his sudden interjection. Plutos smiles at them innocently.
PLUTOS
"May I ask where exactly we will go?"
MATSUDA
"Uh… yeah, hey there. We were gonna ask if you would like to go to the Police station my dad works at. We just wanted to make sure he actually got that thing you gave hilton the right person. You're free to come with and it's on the way to the shopping district."
PLUTOS
"The shopping district?"
MIU
"Yeah. we can show you all the good places to go for groceries and stuff. Maybe after we can go to the game center later. What do you say?"
PLUTOS
"That sounds like a fun idea. I was in need of some things anyway."
MATSUDA
"Sweet! We should get going soon, so we can make the deals and sales. You need anything before we head off."
PLUTOS
"Not that I can think of. Shall we?"
MATSUDA
"Yeah. let's get going."
MIU
"Kay."
The trio leave Plutos' house and head down the road talking about current news and old news. Plutos would point out some of the rundown buildings, asking Miu and Matsuda about what had happened to them since he couldn't find anything about them on the new site on his device. Matsuda told him that most of them have had records of taboo incidences like murders and "accidental" suicides.
MATSUDA
"Most of these were caused by that new tech agency that made that chopper that caused the accident."
PLUTOS
"... wait. What?"
MIU
"I didn't know that. How did all of these go down because of that place?"
MATSUDA
"I heard that one of the high forms is in charge of that new tech place. They were trying to make room for more development places and for some reason most of the device shops here decided to move to that new location. Think they went there to sell their parts to the company, but that's just my opinion."
PLUTOS
"What does that have to do with this place being a deathtrap?"
MATSUDA
"Majority of these places got shut down and in turn a lot of people lost their jobs here. It was a big deal since one of the bought out places was the main billing company here. Once it was bought out it instantly went bankrupt along with those the other places that were bought out, but not before people lost all of their resources to them. It was a seriously heavy plummet in the economy of this area and half the people here ended up with no future left. About half of them took their own lives and the lives of their families. Someone once completed a whole genocide attack on the leaders of the fallen companies that took everything from them before the police arrived."
PLUTOS
"Dear Kai! That's horrendous!"
MATSUDA
"That's actually not the worst part, but it's best to ask the locals… if they're willing to tell you, that is. Everything I just told you is what day told me after the files were recorded in the office."
PLUTOS
"... Here's a question. How did it not end up in local news? There must be somewhere that it was recorded."
MATSUDA
"... This is just rumors and whispers from the station but, either the local casings were bribed or the one casting that reported this section got "removed". Whatever that means. Basically they were just cleared of the evidence and stopped all records in this area. I guess by the hot shots that own that new tech place."
PLUTOS
"... tell me what is that place called?"
MATSUDA
"I think it's called Core. C-O-R-E. Core technical industry."
PLUTOS
"Is it an acronym?"
MATSUDA
"Nope. That's it. I don't think it stands for anything. Though, to be fair, no one has bothered to ask about the place. Not like they will even bother to see anyone after this place became some sort of ghost town."
PLUTOS
"... why do I feel like something is wrong with this story?"
MATSUDA
"You're not the only one trust me. Miu and I were the most worried about this case since CORE was built last year."
MIU
"CORE wasn't a popular company to begin with since most of the small products they made were either stolen ideas or defectives. It just recently started becoming messy last season. This part of town and that chopper incident is probably just the beginning."
PLUTOS
"actually, I was more concerned about why no one has stopped them yet."
MIU
"They are."
MATSUDA
"Not as fast as they should be but we can't do anything that can really help except ask and tell."
PLUTOS
"Hmm…"
They make it out of the rundown area and cross the street to the library.
MIU
"If you ever feel like looking up anything that might not be on the net you can always find old records in the library. You might even get an idea about what you wanna do later on."
PLUTOS
(mutter) "I would be more interested in learning it from the station records."
MATSUDA
"What??"
PLUTOS
"Would it be possible to try my hands on learning the patrol routine?"
MATSUDA
"Patrol…? No way you want to be a cop."
PLUTOS
"Is that a problem? I do have some training from the military back home home. You could simply say I'm a Veteran looking for work."
MATSUDA
"Uh-huh… well, if you say so. We're here."
The trio enter the police station and are greeted by Officer Flute's son, Alto, who smiles as soon as he sees them, but the smile instantly dies as soon as he sees Plutos. Miu notices Alto and ses the frustration grow in his expression. She looks at Plutos and he seems to be plotting something wicked. This didn't bode well at all.
PLUTOS
"Hello there, young namekian."
Alto suddenly jumps at Plutos and flies past Miu and Matsuda and out the door landing on the other side of the street. Miu And Matsuda are so confused and dumbfounded by his sudden attack. Plutos had dodged the attack before anyone had noticed and put his hands in his pockets. His tail sways and wraps around his legs to hold it still. He didn't seem happy about suddenly being attacked. He did feel Alto's hostility towards him though, which made him more annoyed than curious.
PLUTOS
"Now that was quite uncalled for, don't you think?"
ALTO
"Hmph. my bad."
Alto stands in a fighting stance ready for another attack as if hoping Plutos would go for it and take a stance as well.
ALTO
"Your power was just too tempting not to try."
PLUTOS
"So, is this how Namekians greet strangers here? How unsightly."
ALTO
"Only if they're stranger than us."
PLUTOS
"Well, I'm sorry to disappoint but-"
Alto suddenly appears in front of Plutos, grabs his shirt at the chest and shoulder and throws him out the door behind him past Miu and Matsuda again then rushes after him out the building. Matsuda fell back onto his butt and Miu looked out the door in shock at what she was seeing.
Plutos lands in the middle of the road and jumps to the side to dodge Alto's attack. Alto had made a crack in the concrete then takes his stance again. Plutos lands gracefully in front of a shop where many people were gathered, scaring most of them away to the corner of the walkway. The shop owner panics and ducks behind the counter shivering as he sees Plutos standing right in front of him with his shoulders just peaking over the counter.
PLUTOS
"Now just hold on for a moment-!!"
Alto charged at Plutos again and started throwing a flurry of punches at him to most of his vital points. Each punch missing their mark as Plutos backs away and dodges them. He back into a street pole then hops on top of it and jumps a good distance away from Alto to no avail when Alto's arms suddenly stretch across the street to grapple at him. Plutos uses his tail to catch one arm and pulls one of his hands out of his pocket to catch Alto's other arm. Plutos was very agitated at this point.
PLUTOS
"Will you stop swinging at me for five minutes?"
ALTO
"Tch."
Alto tries to pull his arms out of Plutos' grip with no luck.
ALTO
"Heh. I got one out of your pocket."
PLUTOS
"If that's the problem, you could have just asked. Also, namekian, do you really find it wise to start a fight in the middle of a busy street like this. Your unruly, boneless body is becoming a hindrance to traffic."
Plutos yanks back on Altos arms and releases them, letting them fling back at Alto and throwing him off balance. Plutos puts his hand back in his pocket as his tail whips behind him in annoyance and rises over his head.
PLUTOS
"Hmph."
Alto starts getting irritated that his provocations weren't working. Officer Flute suddenly rushes Alto from behind and knocks him to the ground with his elbow then restrains him in a police hold. Miu steps out with Officer Kosuke and Matsuda and gets Plutos' attention. Plutos walks to them and stands close to Miu as if showing he was being shielded. Somehow Miu could feel that wasn't the case at all. She was right think so.
FLUTE
"What the hell do you think you're doing to a guest, you idiot!?"
Every onlooker's eyes widened at how fast Flute got behind Alto only to knock him in the head.
ALTO
"D-da`~d…"
FLUTE
"Don't you 'dad' me. What the hell are you thinking attacking someone out of nowhere. I didn't raise you to be so rude."
Plutos' nerves ease up a bit while he listens to Flute lecture Alto until he hears something disconcerting that pisses him off.
FLUTE
"You're supposed to ask first, remember? If he rejects your challenge then he's not worth your time because he is admitting he's weak."
PLUTOS
"Excuse me, but the person in question is currently trying to enjoy a tour around town, not start fights in the middle of the road. And no one rejected anything, let alone asked for permission."
Flute picks up Alto and makes him bow in front of Plutos. Plutos wasn't impressed.
FLUTE
"Apologies, visitor. My son did not mean to offend you any. He simply was overly excited to see someone with potential."
PLUTOS
"That doesn't excuse him for attacking someone he just saw walk through the front door of a police station."
FLUTE
"That is indeed true. However, I would like to ask you to be benevolent and forgive this ignorant son of mine."
PLUTOS
"Hmph. be grateful I'm in good company today."
Plutos' tail wraps around Miu's legs gently without touching her, but she notices what he was doing and simply cringes a bit at it creeping around her.
PLUTOS
"I came here for a walk around the area and wanted to speak to someone about this station."
MIU
"And we can go do that now! Come on, Matsuda. Let's help our friend get acquainted with the rest of the unit inside."
MATSUDA
"G-good idea! Let's get going!"
ALTO
"Wait a minute."
Miu and Matsuda cringe from alto stopping them from taking Plutos away from the scene. Plutos simply gives him a side glance.
ALTO
"I will formally apologise to you… but only if you accept my challenge to a fight right here."
PLUTOS
"... I will not fight you here. As I've said before, I am simply trying to enjoy my time with this tour, since I just moved here. Especially since you've yet to introduce yourself as a namekian warrior should."
Plutos walks into the station with Miu and Matsuda. Inside the station, the whole room was filled with curious and wary eyes from the other officers. Plutos didn't care about the attention, but the unwelcomed feeling made him think something wasn't right, so he steps closer to Miu and starts messing with his small device to distract himself for a while. Miu and Matsuda notice him doing something on the small device in his hand.
MATSUDA
"Hey, what's that? Is it like the thing you gave dad this morning?"
PLUTOS
"Not really. This one only has my home surveillance. I thought I should check to see if it was working since I just Installed most of the cameras this morning. It's not done though since I seem to have missed some blind spots."
MATSUDA
"Whoa… so this is the interior of your house? It's super nice? How long have you been in town to get all that set up?"
PLUTOS
"About a few weeks. If you include the time I got lost my first day."
MATSUDA
"Ah. right. You said something about that before. What exactly happened for you to get lost?"
PLUTOS
I was out and about for a while after separating from my brothers to get my bearings. Next thing I knew, I was wondering in the dark looking for the device I gave to your father. Speaking of whom…"
Officer Kosuke walks out of one of the side offices with his commander holding the device in an evidence container. It was safely packed away surrounded in foam and a thick plastic cover sealed over the box with tape.
MATSUDA
"Wow. He really took good care of that device."
MIU
"Well, it is evidence after all. Mr. Kosuke."
Officer Kosuke sees Miu and Matsuda in the center of the entry with Plutos standing beside them watching him curiously. Plutos' staring made his face turn pale with fear. Plutos notices his fear and gives him an innocent smile.
OFFICER KOSUKE
"H-hey, kids. What are you doing here? Heheh…
Flute and Alto entered the station entry while Officer Kosuke spoke.
MIU
"Not much. Just giving our friend a tour of the town, he said he wanted to see the station and check out the patrol routines when someone has the time."
OFFICER KOSUKE
"P-patrol??
OFFICER FLUTE
"I can do that."
Everyone looks at officer Flute who held Alto by the shoulder as they walked in. Alto was glaring at Plutos with a sour expression. Plutos returns his glare with a menacing aura that made Alto shiver in cold sweat. Officer Flute felt the same tension but held his ground to continue.
OFFICER FLUTE
"I hope you are willing to appease this old namekians curiosity of you in the meantime?"
PLUTOS
"I think I'll take my chances walking."
MIU
(Whisper)"*GASP* Plutos!"
PLUTOS
(Whisper)"I can't stand namekians. They always try to ask for a fight with me Like I'm an easy target or something and it pisses me off."
MIU
(Whisper)"Why??"
PLUTOS
(Whisper)"Haven't the slightest."
Alto takes a few steps closer to Plutos making him feel even more uncomfortable than he already was.
ALTO
"We'd be more than happy to escort you around town, sir. It'd be our honor to show you around."
Plutos could see the eager look in Alto's eyes that exposed his real intentions for pressing the offer. Plutos was finally on his last thread of patience for the two namekians as he frowns in disgust. Miu steps in between the two hastily. She could see the sparks flying as the two glared each other down.
MIU
"Come on now, Plutos. Let's go see the rest of the city. Uh… see you guys. Matsuda, do something about Mr. Flute."
MATSUDA
"R-right. H-hey~, Alto. How you been?"
MIU
"Let go, quickly."
PLUTOS
"My thoughts exactly."
Plutos and Miu leave the station and hurry down the road. Matsuda starts questioning Officer Flute about what they were trying to do with an east islander.
MATSUDA
"... Please tell me you have a really good reason for trying to pick a fight with that guy? Like may look strong but he's probably just the kind of guy that likes to work out, you know?"
ALTO
"No. he's strong. You probably can't see it, but he has the energy of a master. Someone like him has got to be the best when it comes to fights. Despite his laidback appearance, he definitely has experience."
MATSUDA
"Hm… well, he did say he has military experience. Maybe he's been trained for battle?"
ALTO
"Battle?"
FLUTE
"Like a war?"
MATSUDA
"Uh… you know, now that you say that, that does sound kind of odd. I'm actually curious as to what he did before coming here."
Alto smiles wide, excited and eager.
ALTO
"Whatever it is, it doesn't matter. That person is strong. And I am just itching to test his strength."
MATSUDA
"Yeah, sure. Though I don't think that's a good idea if he's as strong as you say he is."
FLUTE
"Huhu. He's probably stronger than that."
ALTO
"Oh? I might be digging myself a grave if that's the case. We'll have to wait and see."
MATSUDA
(whisper) "He says, still smiling as big as ever."
Outside, Plutos and Miu continue down the road on their own.
MIU
"Are you okay? Plutos?"
PLUTOS
"I'm well. I just hope to never run into those two namekians again."
MIU
"You know you keep calling them that, but…"
PLUTOS
"Do you not know the different races that live on this planet of yours?"
MIU
"You make it sound like everyone is from outer space."
PLUTOS
"... *sigh* My poor ignorant Miu. Of course they are from another planet. In fact, they had their own planet filled with those boneless slugs."
MIU
"What about your race? Frost demons right? What are your people like?"
PLUTOS
"I'm actually happy that you remembered. Not to toot my own horn, but we Frost demons are quite superior in every respect. By nature we are born to be cruel natured creatures that are capable of rivaling gods, but have the courtesy not to do harm to those weaker than us. Which to be fair would currently be most of the galaxy."
MIU
"Gee. way to boast, buddy. So if you're born to be cruel by nature, why are you here trying to be friends with someone that's, in every essence, weaker than you?"
PLUTOS
"Well, you did make my life a bit easier here on this planet. That should prove a fair point. Hmph!?"
Plutos grabs Miu and jumps to the other side of the street and glares at the person that was in their place.
ALTO
"Heh. I didn't think you would be able to dodge that. I was even hiding my presence and ki level this time."
PLUTOS
"Like that has anything to do with your obvious killing intent. I can still feel it from here, you know."
MIU
"Wha?? What just...!? What!?"
ALTO
"HAHAHAH! Yeah true enough. Though to be fair, you've been giving off nothing but wicked energy since you entered the station."
PLUTOS
"Hmph! Like an arrogant weakling can even attempt to try and intimidate me!"
MIU
"W-whoa! Whoa whoa whoa!! Wait a minute! Calm down, both of you! Alto, Stop provoking him! What are you thinking!?"
PLUTOS
"If all you want to do is fight then look elsewhere. I don't have the patience for you, slugs. Nor do I intend to indulge you."
ALTO
"Why not? Scared I'll embarrass you in front of your new friend after that little bit of boasting you did earlier? Heheheh."
PLUTOS
"Now you're just trying my patience, namekian."
Miu could feel the air around her get warmer as if the temperature around her and Plutos was the only spot that was changing.
MIU
"What?? What's happening??"
Alto's eager expression soon started to fade to nervousness. Unlike Miu, he could see the energy Plutos was emitting getting stronger and more violent. Sparks started to crack around him as his eyes glossed over from anger.
PLUTOS
"Tell me, namekian. Have you ever lost a limb?"
ALTO
"What??"
Without a second to spear, Plutos was immediately behind Alto with Alto's arm suspended in the air and off his main body. Plutos had used his tail to remove Altos arm in one single movement. Alto now feeling the pain slowly looks at his shoulder only to see an empty sleeve drenched in his blood. As Alto slowly falls into panic, Plutos dangles his arm over his head then drops it in front of him. Alto instantly passes out from the shock and drops to the ground. He was out like a light without a single sound. Plutos turns around and glares at the now unconscious Alto.
