1 Fragmented Souls

Year 1437 of the System Calendar.

"I understand you miss your child, but Necromancy is a forbidden form of magic. If the other Elders knew you would be executed immediately my Dear, besides, even if you succeeded it would only be a Ghoul."

The woman sat on her couch with a disinterested expression on her face, But as her father finished his lecture she tilted her head upwards and spoke clearly.

"Necromancy is forbidden by the Laws of man, if the gods forbid it it would have been restricted by the System, and anyways I'm not trying to bring back his body, I'm trying to bring back his soul Father."

The Elderly Man's face paled at his daughter words. She had truly gone insane at her child's death. He steeled his heart and looked at his daughter again, taking note of the desperate undertones in her eyes.

" Interacting with souls is something only the system is allowed to do, and that is only because it has authority over reincarnation, not even the Primary God of Darkness is allowed. If you continue with this folly you will not find any assistance from me. Good Luck in avoiding the Templar once they know what you have attempted." He stated this clearly, leaving no room for discussion, yet as he walked towards the door he faltered at his daughters words.

"I will not say I will succeed, but if there was the slightest chance that you could bring back brother from the dead, you wouldn't have hesitated in the slightest Father. "

She stood up as well, but headed towards a set of stairs leading down towards her lab, never once looking back.

Three weeks later-

The woman had lost all traces of the dignity she had held when she talked with her father, she was ragged and dirty, yet she was still attempting to perfect the ritual to call her sons soul back to the Mortal Realm.

"I call upon the souls that lay in heaven, and beseech thee to allow the return of my son"

Two months of different chants and invocations had produced an increase in intelligence, but most importantly, no success or Skills. She was prepared to work for years if necessary, but she was still disheartened to have no successes in Soul Calling.

As she stood there contemplating the next chant, she heard the familiar cry of the Templars. She was hit by a burst of inspiration and began to chant.

"I call upon the fragments of the original gods, guide my son back to this mortal realm and ressur..."

A extreme amount of pain rose from her frontal cortex, bypassing her Pain Resistance Skill, but rather then be discouraged, The woman was elated. This was a symptom of mana hollow, and caused her to believe it had worked. And indeed, Infront of her was a glowing orb she believed to be a soul was flickering. Tears began to fall from her eyes as she looked at the fruits of her Labour.

And she cried no more, for the Templars she had heard were here for her, and her blasphemous usage of the original gods name was more then enough to convince the Templar she deserved death. One of the Templars looked towards the "Soul" and reached to touch it, before the soul started glowing with a myriad of colours before exploding.

The fragments that remained drifted into limbo, the resting place of souls, where souls would either be sent to One of the other Realms, or be reincarnated on the mortal realm. As they drifted in limbo, 4 groups of other fragments flew towards them.

Dark red, Turquoise, Yellow-white and Silver.

These four colours gathered around the transparent fragments of a child soul, and they began to merge.
