1 Prologue

Dark clouds whirled in the sky, carrying heavy rain and thunder as they passed. The streets outside were devoid of people, only here and there could you see someone standing under the cover because they weren't able to run away from the rain. It seemed as if a tornado would suddenly form and destroy everything in its path - the winds were that strong. Normally, nobody would be crazy enough to stand outside in such weather.

Yet there was one man, seemingly around 25 years old, standing in the courtyard of his house and looking at the sky with calm eyes. As thunder occasionally roared, his eyes would fill with uncontrollable excitement. Feeling the beating of his heart, he would become even more excited.

He never found out why this was happening. Ever since he knew about himself, thunder would always make him excited and itching for something. As if he was not complete without that something. Needless to say, he never told this to anyone, for humans are chaotic creatures. Who knew if he'd suddenly become a 'psychiatric case' if he talked about that. Yet, funnily enough, every human had something illogical that excites them.

Lightning flashed, illuminating everything in its surroundings, including this lone man standing soaked wet in the heavy rain. As he watched lightning jump from one point to another, he felt a strange feeling inside his heart, as if something was calling him and yet he was unable to reach it. The man glanced at the sky another time and felt intense longing, something totally unexpected. But before he was able to do anything, his eyes subconsciously turned to the sky one more time and then his vision filled with endless white, as if white flames devoured him.

When he realized what happened, a surge of excitement instantly followed, and then turned into anticipation, exhilaration and finally settled on madness. He found himself lying on his back, ears ringing and his entire body tingling. Occasionally, his muscles would twitch, causing his limbs to jerk uncontrollably. What he could see with the periphery of his eyes was a charred skin with branch-like white patterns spreading across his body, as if some kind of tattoo. He knew full well what this signified.

He was struck by lightning.

Normally, you would expect someone in his place to be afraid, despairing and trying to scream for help. However, in the case of this man, that was the last on his mind.

His head was full with strange thoughts: "Finally. I finally know how it feels, ahh... This is marvelous. This is life!"

Disregarding the fact that he was dying, critically injured and only a tiny bit away from passing out, he felt the adrenaline in his blood. He focused the entirety of his attention to the irregular beating of his heart and his thoughts, as if he was merely the observer in this body, not the one residing in it. He felt dopamine release in massive quantities, but he didn't notice the irregularity. What was irregular here is that a human was able to precisely measure something like the quantity of dopamine released. Whether this was a side effect of lightning strike or not remains unknown.

While he was still conscious, the man slowly closed his eyes and imagined a vertical third eye opening on his forehead. He practiced meditation every day, imagining the process of 'cultivation' he read in novels, even though that wasn't possible in this world. He recalled the descriptions of soul, the principles it operated to and its meaning. Thinking about all of that, he imagined his soul rising from his dying body and imagined opening all three eyes, two regular and the third one vertical.

As soon as his three eyes opened, he was stunned. He couldn't believe what was happening. He was floating above his dead body and saw pale light blue dots rising from it and occasionally merging into a bolt of electricity. However, this miniature lightning was illusory, something not belonging to the physical world. His eyes fell on the plants in his garden and astonishment once again took place. There was a mist-like gathering of shiny little dots circulating around them. The once boring world suddenly became more vibrant, rich and interesting.

His eyes finally rose in the direction of the clouds and he felt indescribable terror from them. However, followed by this feeling of terror came another familiar feeling - excitement.

Suddenly, the longing he felt just a while ago appeared once more, but this time far stronger and slightly different. This time, it felt within his reach, even though he wasn't sure how to reach out for it.

He focused on that feeling and found the reality around himself warp as the world he was familiar with disappeared and another, unfamiliar but much more amazing world appeared before his eyes.

There were two silhouettes standing in front of his soul and observing him with great attention and something else in their eyes. One of the silhouettes had a flowing white hair, pure white like an angel and a pair of purple eyes. The other had a long black hair and her eyes were of different color. Her left eye was green while her right eye was purple. The two forms before him were both female, looking around twenty years of age. However, both of them were beautiful.

The white-haired girl turned to the black-haired one and said: "It seems like you won this time. *sigh*". The black-haired girl patted the white-haired girl on the head and then said: "Mm. I told you that I'd win. But even if I did win, you still don't lose out much, do you?"

The white-haired girl pouted and then complained to the other: "A-although that's true, but you still benefit more than me. After all, you will be together with him all the time and I can only have him to myself when we're together. That's unfair, I want the same treatment as you!"

"Silly girl. Come on, let's not waste any time here, let's proceed according to the plans."

The black-haired girl showed a kind smile on her face and then closed her eyes while spreading her hands. Some strange incantations resounded throughout the entire space as her form turned illusory and then morphed into two brilliant spheres of light. One sphere was fully green, while the other was fully purple. Those green and purple spheres seemed like the cores of their respective worlds, spinning with high velocity and absorbing everything around them while competing with the other. Even the world started twisting, as if it would be absorbed entirely any moment.

The green sphere suddenly shot towards the man's third eye and embedded within it. At the same time, purple sphere flew towards the white-haired girl's forehead and nested there.

The white-haired girl smiled and appeared in front of the man, grabbing his right hand and putting it in the position of her heart. Her purple eyes gently closed as green mark appeared in the middle of her heart, like a seed of life.

Seeing that, the man also took her right hand and placed it in front of his heart. The next moment, a purple seed appeared in the middle of his heart as well. The girl looked frightened when she saw that. It was unexpected that he'd do the same as her, but it was far too late to do anything as it already happened. Before either of them had the time to say anything to the other, the world finally violently twisted and everything returned to calm as the two disappeared in the form of two shooting stars and shot in a certain direction, as if guided by something.

Two stars flew through the universe, mutually attracting each other as they rotated, which resulted in a spiral-like trail wherever they passed. One star left a strong, vivid green trail while the other left a powerful purple trail, like a purple nebula, yet both of them had a divine radiance, as if the colors themselves were purple and green variant of golden flames.

Passing near a black hole, the green-purple pairing of stars suddenly accelerated as two rays of light shot out from the black hole. One of them had an ashen-white glow that contained a rainbow-colored seed, while the other had a pitch-black trail with a clearly visible stars in it. The seed made of stars seemingly contained all the stars of this universe within it. Both of those rays of light flew towards the two shooting stars and each of them flew towards one of the stars, but when they were only a meter away from the shooting stars, a strong green glow shone from the green star and both of those rays of light got sucked into it.

As if angered by that event, another pair of black and white rays of light shot out from the black hole and pierced the space itself, appearing right on top of the violet star. This time, the black and white radiance with pitch black and pure white cores in them got absorbed by the purple star and the green-purple pair of stars trailed off into the distance, but now along with the initial green and purple trails there were four more - ten-colored rainbow, starry black, radiant white and pitch black. It was an amazing sight to behold.

As the final gift, the black hole pulled on the two stars as they disappeared from this space forever, only to appear on the other side of the black hole, the entirely different universe. With this, a cracking sound was heard, like a broken glass, and after a short while everything returned to silence, only a black hole that was there previously was nowhere to be found.

With that, the tale of the two shooting stars that signified a world-shaking change began.
