3 Birds of Feather

Xia stood up and pulled Asura with her towards the outside of the tunnel. The cave was cold so there's no use staying in it, let alone they had to find food as soon as possible if they didn't want to starve.

Xia: "Let's go find something to eat and make clothes. I just hope it's not winter outside..."

Asura: "So, do you know anything else besides what kind of world this is?"

Xia's hand slightly tightened at that question and then she stopped in place, turned around and looked straight into Asura's green eyes. Her small rosy lips parted several times but nothing came out, as if she was thinking about whether to answer or not.

Asura noticed her mood and suddenly said something that caught her unaware.

Asura: "What are you hesitating about? Didn't you two already spend my entire lifetime watching over me? I just want to know the complete story and details."

Xia's pupils contracted as she stared blankly at the pair of green eyes full of kindness. There was no hostility in them, only pure love. She couldn't believe her eyes. When she paid more attention to his eyes, Xia felt like they were an endless abyss, able to see through anything in the world, no matter how complicated it is.

Xia: "Y-you knew?"

Asura made a silly face and smiled: "Not really, I just guessed. After all, your other half said that she won, didn't she?"

Xia once again trembled, but this time for another reason: "How are you so sure she's my other half?"

Asura: "Hm? Well it's obvious no matter how you look at it. Both of you look the same, have the same source and only difference is that the source was split in two and formed the two of you. When your other half merged partially with me and partially with you, I guess it was in order to preserve the state of separation like before. If my guess is right, then you two couldn't merge for some reason so you chose this solution. The only thing I can't figure out is why you chose me out of so many others..."

Xia's shock gradually subsided as she listened to his narration. She never imagined he had figured out so much.

Xia: "Heh. It seems we didn't pick wrongly..."

She took another look at Asura and then brought his hand to her face and started rubbing it on her cheek, which would appear very strange if someone saw this scene. After a moment or two, she brought that hand to her heart and pressed it against her chest. Right at the moment Asura's hand reached her chest, Xia noticed his hand twitch slightly and he became embarrassed after that.

Xia: "Hehe, what are you embarrassed for? It'll take another ten years for something to grow here. Right now it's just skin and bones."

Knowing that he was seen through, Asura turned completely red, even his ears weren't spared.

Asura: "I..."

He tried to say something in his defense but he couldn't think of anything.

Xia: "It's alright. After all, aren't we lovers now?"

Asura: "Even so, I never had this kind of experience in my last life. It's overwhelming."

Xia looked at his embarrassed face and giggled while thinking: 'How cute'.

Asura suddenly looked at Xia with bewildered expression and hurriedly said: "Y-you just thought 'How cute', didn't you?"

Xia's eyes narrowed because of her smile and she nodded, which made her even cuter.

Xia: "The fact that you heard my thoughts is because of this."

As she said that, a stream of images appeared in Asura's mind from nowhere. He was surprised and excited. This kind of telepathy was something he wasn't familiar with, how could he not be excited?

Xia's 'this' manifested in his mind as a scene from a while ago, where he took her hand and planted it in the position of his heart. The purple seed that formed inside was a gateway for Xia's consciousness. If she wanted to transmit her thoughts to him, she just had to focus on it slightly. He knew this because her thoughts about how to utilize it also came in with that scene.

Asura quickly tried by thinking something and focusing on the green seed planted in Xia's heart. In reality, the seeds weren't truly there but just imagining their existence automatically connected them together.

Asura thought: 'There's a thing I don't understand. Are we biological brother and sister in this life because we were formed from pure energy and were not born the ordinary way?'

Xia's eyes showed surprise and when she thought about it. She indeed didn't know the answer to that question.

Xia: 'I think we aren't blood-related because we weren't born from the same parents, but in a certain sense we are soul-related brother and sister since we are connected through our souls, right?'

Asura: 'Soul-related sister... Ahhh... that sounds nice. I always wanted to have a sister.'

Subconsciously, he recalled the certain types of videos related to that - the non-blood-related brother and sister loving each other with 'extra steps'. As his thoughts ended, he noticed that Xia's face turned fully red. He was at first confused and then a scary premonition appeared in his mind.

Asura: "D-did that... my thoughts... y-you s...saw?"

Xia nodded awkwardly and quickly leaned in his embrace in order to hide herself. She didn't forget to console her 'soul-related brother' in the meantime.

Xia: "It's okay to think about that. I... I was just caught unprepared! Don't be embarrassed."

Asura's face matched the color of her face at this point and he didn't know what else to do besides bringing his arms up and pressing one around Xia's back, while caressing her hair with the other one. The scene looked like he was the one consoling Xia, not the other way around.

Asura: "I'm sorry... I didn't know it'd happen."

He put his hands on both of Xia's shoulders and slightly pulled to separate her from him, intending to look straight into her eyes while explaining. As he just began to do that, various scenes flashed in his mind and left him speechless. In the scenes, he was some kind of villain that assaulted his own sister while she was resisting, but both of them were grown up like the time where his soul first appeared before Xia. The scenes told him that they were blood-related siblings in that life and they did the unspeakable thing. But he was the bad guy there, yet his sister wasn't resisting. He felt exactly what her thoughts were at that time. She was enjoying that. So it turns out she was a pervert as well.

The scenes ended and Asura made a surprised face as his brows arched and his mouth curled into a villainous smile. He quickly pushed Xia away but didn't let go of her as she started panicking and flailing her hands around.

Xia: "N-no! Don't look at me, I-I-I didn't want to show you that. I-I... I want to die!!!"

Xia was forced to cross her eyes with his again and even though both of them were completely embarrassed, Asura was grinning with a smile that was not a smile, as if he wanted to say: "So you're a fellow pervert too.". It didn't only end at him wanting to say that as he accidentally transmitted his thoughts over. This caused Xia to start struggling even harder but then suddenly he hugged her again and kissed her forehead like a caring brother.

Asura's thoughts appeared in her mind again: 'As you previously said, let's wait another ten years and then the time for that will be ripe. For now, let's just focus on things before us.'

Xia tightly pressed her hands around him, not wanting to be separated again, whether out of embarrassment or something else, she didn't know. Both of them quickly sealed off the mental path between each other as it was far too embarrassing not being able to control their thoughts and calmed down after they felt a chilly wind pass through the entrance of the cave.

Xia finally let go and separated from Asura after taking a bit to calm down and then looked him in the eyes again. Besides kindness and love, there was another thing in those green eyes, the 'you know I know' thing. When she noticed that, her small face pouted and she started hitting on Asura's chest with her small fists.

It didn't hurt at all, she was just showing her distress that way.

A faint giggle came from above her and then an already familiar voice sounded: "Alright, I'll stop. Don't be mad."

Xia: "Hmph. If it wasn't for you who first did it, I would never have showed you that side of me! You should make it up to me, an apology is not enough!"

Asura: "Eh... alright."

Xia: "Ah? You really accepted it just like that?"

Asura: "Well, It truly was partially my fault, but now we're both more comfortable around each other, aren't we? Besides, now we know that we're both fellow perverts, hehe."

Xia: "Hmph! Shameless."

Xia remained silent for a while and then turned her cheek toward Asura, while pointing with her slender tiny finger to it.

Asura smiled and kissed her on the cheek and after that on the forehead.

Asura: "There, is that enough for now?"

Xia: "Hng! You're getting away with it this time, but since I'm a kind girl, I'll forgive you."

Asura looked at her petite form that was pretending to be mad and a chuckle escaped by itself.

Xia pouted once again and didn't want to be made fun of anymore, so she quickly grabbed his hand and continued pulling him towards the cave entrance.

Xia: "Come, let's go! You've been longing for this all your life, haven't you?"

Asura: "Mm. Let's go."

The two carefully crawled up the tunnel that was pointing away from the ground, which was normal since the shooting star fell from above. It took them a little bit of effort to climb up since it was extremely slippery because the star dissolved everything to the finest detail so now it looked like a mirror. There was nothing they had to hold on to, so they relied on each other acting like a support until they reached the outside.
