9 The Fat Rat

Hmm, what do I do? I have a strange feeling about these rat men.

Maybe...I don't have to kill them. At least, not yet. I can always come back....

That must be why he gave me the shadow jump spell.

I decided to give subterfuge a try. I would investigate first, attack later.

On the other side of the rat men was another tunnel. This tunnel had numerous shadows and was just the right distance away.

Shadow Jump! -10 mp

Instantly my body moved. I was exactly where I envisioned. Teleportation is amazing. I'm pretty sure I always wanted to be able to.

It was....so....Freaking...COOL!

Despite being in a dank, smelly dungeon I was already having a good time. Sneaking around can be fun, and exiting.

Had they noticed...

The guards continued their strange pacing, but did not see me.

Sweet! Moving on!

With the combination of Ninja's Resolve and the breathing technique my mana regeneration (out of combat) is now over 190%!(including natural stat modifications like wisdom)

I watched my mana bar go up by 5 mana per second and smiled. Two seconds and it was back to full.

My spells and abilities may not be super strong, but they can be used a lot. Which I found to be really cool.

Sweet! Moving on!

The next room was exactly like the last. Dank, dusty, smelly, and equipped with two starving, weakened rat men.

Why are they all so weak...

What is going on..

Shadow Jump!

I teleported to the next shadow and moved on, going deeper into the dungeon.

The next room had a fork in it, dividing the way. There was two more weak looking rat men pacing by the torches.

So...left or right?

I went down the left path.

Shadow Jump!

The feeling of teleporting was super cool. It almost made up for losing so much free xp.....almost.

With full mana I could shadow jump, wait one second, then jump again. Then three seconds later my mana would be full again.

Using this strategy I began to move quickly through the dungeon. Each room was the same. Two starving rat men paced about, drooling while looking at each other like food.

Creepy..

I pressed through ten rooms...then fifteen....

How big is this place?

The next hallway led to a large cavern. In the center was what appeared to be a large sofa on top of a mound of trash. There was a really fat rat man laying on the couch. Rune covered stones were stacked together to form a doorway that glowed with a green luminescence, much like a portal. Standing before the throne was a human with a large buff looking rat man looming over him.

I mentally prompted the game to give me all the information it could.

[Corrupted Gluttonous Rat-Man][Boss][Level ???] Hp-[???] Abilities [???]

[Corrupted Right Hand Rat Man][Elite]Level -[8] , Hp-[200], Abilities [???]

[Villager]-A villager from the Kasha clan.

The fat rat boss could easily be heard yelling at the human the moment I arrived.

"BRIINNG ME FOOOD!" He bellowed.

"There is no FOOD!" The human man yelled. "YOU ate it ALL!

" ENOUGH OF YOUR INSOLENCE!" The Boss Rat screamed.

He nodded to his right hand rat. The buff rat grabbed the human and like a rag doll tossed him into the portal.

The man screamed and fell out the other side covered in green luminescence. This green soon turned to black and the screaming stopped. The black substance began to twist and shift until the shape of a rat man could be seen.

The transformation complete, the rat man(villager)turned and bowed to the Fat rat.

"What are your orders?"

"HAHAHA! It never gets old! " The Rat Boss laughed. "I have run out of space, and I'm hungry so go kill number...27...and bring me the body. Since your new I'll let naw on the bones when I'm done. HAHAHA!"

The rat man bowed his head and began to leave. " As you wish Master."

I couldn't believe what I had just heard, and had seen. I was so angry! Such atrocities should never exist!

I felt like rushing in and stabbing that stupid thing over and over!

Something stopped me, calmed me.

Common sense.

I realized I knew nothing about his abilities and he was at least 5 levels higher than me. He also has a level 8 elite as his bodyguard. Even with my cool sword and Abilities I stood little chance.

I was no longer having fun.

I couldn't believe all the rat men here are villagers being controlled by that Fat rat. No matter what I had to save them.

This is just wrong. Turns them to rats and then doesn't even feed them!

I decided to start by stopping the new rat man, who was coming right for me.
