Kowalsk ran like a desperate crazy, he did not want to give up, but he could not get away because besides being very tired, he was hurt and hungry.

While his pursuer was in great shape, perfectly healthy but very hungry.

Except for hunger, the discrepancy between them was huge.

Kowalsk was 49 years old and until two years ago he was in full shape because he had served a few years at his country's army and since then he had never failed to exercise.

His body once muscular, with biceps and pectoral of causing envy in many gym big guys, now it was just a shadow of what had been before.

Despite this he could still be fleet, but his short breath did not give him any advantage.

His pursuer was only 2 years old and was almost at the height of his forces.

He was quick and slender as much as a serpent could be, with the difference of being much bigger than one and as if this was not enough, he had a great breath and by chance he flew very well.

Then the creature took a rushing flight taking Kowalsk by the shoulders and with his sharp claws pierced him immediately, making blood squirting at will.

The old former soldier shouted so hard, which ended up drawing the attention of other winged creatures that were nearby.

The Kowalsk pursuer was caught by surprise by creatures equal to him, except that they did not have his experience in air combat.

Still he ended up being hurt, then to defend himself better opened his claws releasing his future meal that rolled ravine below screaming and cursing in disconnected phrases.

After a few seconds of pain and agony, all Kowalsk could realize is that he was in the middle of a lot of garbage and rot.

The creature that had not yet sketched any attack reaction to his opponents, seeing Kowalsk trying to get up to get away, with a quick open of the wings and a predominant alpha scream, scared them and again plunged to recapture his prey. After all she was hungry and for days she had not had a decent meal, she would fight later through the territory or would simply rest after the meal.

Kowalsk knew he would not have another chance like that to escape.

For a long time he had discovered that luck does not hit twice on the same door.

Then ignoring the pain of his perforated shoulders, he rose as fast as he can and again began to run as a desperate.

The fear of stopping in the claws of that creature was very large and the biggest reason for this is that first, that kind of creature used to play with his meal and only after shattering little by little, eating slowly only to bring more suffering and agony to the unfortunate victim hunt.

Kowalsk had already witnessed this kind of scene many and many times, and in all of them he had arrived too late to help.

Good times those he still had his long-range rifle, but still he always arrived too late.

Generally all he could do was to alleviate the suffering of the agonizing victim, which left creatures somewhat disappointed to see that his prey no longer suffered.

Kowalsky knew the means to enter, eliminate and leave a place without leaving his traces to have passed there.

And the main one, he always maintained a good and safe distance and preferably against the wind

But unfortunately, one day he hesitated and arrived too close to the creature's lair and when he fired, for the relief of his victim, the creature spotted the flash in the rifle pipe and in less than half a minute he had been discovered.

With great cost he managed to escape with his life but to his bad luck, his finger he used to tighten the trigger, turned into dessert for the creature that has since been hunting him from time to time.

And thinking of all this, Kowalsk continued to run and even knowing that his chances were minimal, he no longer wanted to give up.

His body moved with difficulty and at every step he gave, heavier he felt as his blood gushed in large quantities staining his old military jacket.

He did not feel his arms anymore, after all the venomian poison rang in his veins and threatened to darken his view by changing the scenery drastically.

However his hearing was still good and he listened perfectly a mixture of a caw and a roar coming toward him.

He also managed to distinguish the beating of frantic wings and the sudden braking of them just behind his back.

Still, Kowalsk continued to run, staggering but not stopping.

He felt his escape was almost useless, but he was a warrior and even if he lost his legs, he would not give up.

He suddenly felt a nibble in one of his legs.

Then he fell and this time did not get up, just smiled with a victorious air on his face.

He would die happy because he knew he was the only one who had given so much work for those unfortunate creatures.

He came to kill some of them when they were still puppies, as easy as stealing a lollipop from a child.

But after they began to grow exaggeratedly, no ammunition he stored, he could penetrate the leather of those beings.

It was thinking about it that made the sketch of his smile became bigger, he would actually die but those puppies of a bad thing he had eliminated, would not cause suffering to anyone else.

Kowalsk was crawling blindly and did not even know where to go.

He had lost all his sense of direction and the injuries that had on his shoulders and legs, soon there would be no more blood in his punished body.

Not knowing if he was going or returning to the creature, he crawled for a few more yards without realizing he was going to meet a manhole with his half-lid away.

And listening to the noise of the deadly wings approaching to take him to his final ride, Kowalsk stopped and as the claws touched his back forcing him to the floor, he was on the tip of the lid of the manhole.

At that moment, Kowalsk felt that the soil shuddered and because of the long time of manufacture and sudden weight pressure, the manhole lid broke, leading him to a dark underground gallery.

The beast disappointed for lying on lunch again, not understanding what had happened still squealed as if she was complaining, but soon hit her great wings and came out flying, looking for something she could eat.
