14 Chapter Fourteen

Alex looked at the petite girl beside him. She'd fallen asleep as they drove through school to their apartment. He let his eyes trace every line and turn of her face. He'd always found her beautiful, inside out, he still did.

She was all he had left. He would protect her with his life. He owed her that much. He sighed looking ahead.

He loved her, but he'd never confessed it out loud though. She was way too good for him. Every time she smiled, everything seemed a little bit brighter.

Her eyes were the most beautiful shades of brown he'd ever seen. And he found himself being swayed every time he looked into them. There were still some things he hadn't told her, he didn't think she had the heart to bear the truth.

Alex parked in front of the apartment building. Students came in and out of the huge infrastructure, talking animatedly as they did so. It was evening already.

He got down from the car and came on to the other side of it. He opened the door.
