12 Chaper Twelve

Alex opened the door to the cozy café. Adriel looked around in wonder.

This one looked even nicer than the one close to the halls. They took a seat near the glass window.

Rose looked outside, beyond the words staining the glass window. Even with the streetlights, it still looked pitch black outside. She felt Alex's hand on hers.

"Are you okay Adri?" Alex asked in concern. She tightened her hand around his.

"I am. Thank you for being here. I don't know what would have happened if I didn't have you here with me." She said sincerely.

"You don't need to thank me, thank God. I'll do all I can to keep you safe." He replied. His words touched her beyond words.

"For the brief moment that we were together. Jayden tricked me into thinking that he loved me, that he cared about me. I thought I had friends. It was all a lie. You're the only one who's been there. You're the only real person in my life that I can trust." Adriel said. A look of pain crossed Alex's blue eyes.
