4 To The Guildhall

Chapter Four: To The Guildhall

~ The Next Day ~

I had to wake up early as I had to go to Guildhall and apply to become an Adventurer. I freshened myself, had my breakfast, and I was set to go.

Thanks to that one-month training, I am finally Mid-Green stage, which means I am not in C-Class. Not bad, not bad. I guess I am too genius for this world. That's when I remembered something, "Tch," some so-called 'GENIUS' who boasted themselves for skipping classes and all, "Sigh," I am still jealous of them in a way or so.

Not that it matters cause this time, I will boast, "Hehe."

I reached the Guildhall and entered in.

I think this is my first time entering Guildhall with the intention of becoming an Adventurer. After entering, I walked towards the Guild reception.

{Guild reception, where you ask for help regarding missions or problems related to the adventures. This is also where you register yourself as an Adventurer.}

"Hello, Sir, I am Olivia. How can I help you?" The recaptioned introduced herself and asked me.

"I am Arturo Kei, and I would like to apply to become an Adventurer."

"Sure, So would you like to give the test and get your Guild Rank (GR in short) or start from the zero?"

[Explaination]

In Guild Hall, there's a system called GR or Guild Rank, Starting from D -> C -> B -> A -> S and each rank as three sub-point ranks, that is; D1 -> D2 -> D3 -> C1 and so on till S. S-Rank doesn't have sub-point rank. You get these ranks either by giving a test (Test, where you will fight one of the guild's higher up and depending on your performance, you get your rank) or start right from zero and that is D1-Rank.

"I would like to start from the zero," I replied.

"Okay, Sir, I would like to know some of your details so that I can register you, and please provide your citizen card as well."

{Citizen card, an identity card of an individual (Including children). Though you need to update your Citizen card every ten years.), each Kingdom has its own unique Citizen card.}

I provided Ms. Olivia with my details and all. And minutes later,

"Sir, would you like to check your mana stage?" You can pass too." She asked me.

I already know my mana core stage, so I guess I will pass.

"I will pass," I answered.

She, Ms. Olivia, handed over my Adventurer's pass to me and said, "Okay, Sir. Here is your Adventurer's pass. Please be sure not to lose it."

{Adventure pass: A pass with details of the Adventurer in it. The details are imbued with mana.}

After handing me over my Adventurer's pass, she pointed towards a notice board. She said, "You can take or accept the missions from the Mission Board, and before you start, please verify once with the Guild reception.

"I see. Thank you for helping me out." And thus, I walked towards the Mission board.

Let's see what all missions we got here. To be honest, I would just take missions that will help me get stronger. And that's when my eyes fell on a C-Rank mission. I took that one from the Mission Board and read it.

"Kill the goblins lurking near the Hillford town." That's what is written on it.

Goblins, huh? From my perspective, goblins are just like humans, but monsters with not so much intelligence and knowledge, need food to survive, lust for pleasure, Choas, or torture for enjoyment. They even have their own language, I guess, and their own ranking system among them.

Well, whatever, I will take this. Ahh! I need to verify it with the Guild reception too. I took my mission to the Guild reception, and I am allowed to do it now.

The moment I entered the Guildhall till I left, Ms. Olivia continuously called me 'Sir.' When I was just 14. But I am surprised; they allowed me to do a C-Class mission when I am still D-Class. Lucky me….

Well, Well Well….. I just remember that I need a damn weapon. I don't even have a wooden sword… "Sigh" And here I am, an 'Adventurer'…..

I turned around and started searching for a blacksmith shop or weapon shop. I was specifically looking for a shop which won't cost much.

After searching for minutes, I finally found a shop. I walked inside, and the moment I entered, I saw a dagger. I walked towards that dagger and picked it up.

Damn! This one is made way too perfectly.

*Kreen*

I heard a wooden door opening and heard, "A customer?" A man, aged around 30-35, questioned.

"Yeah, I was looking for a weapon that doesn't cost much," I said.

"I see." He replied and saw me holding that dagger.

"Do you want to buy that brat?" He asked me.

"If only I could."

"What do you mean?" he replied.

"Isn't this costly?"

A brief moment pause, and that man started laughing, "No-No, it's not."

"Seriously? You are not scamming me, right?"

"Why would I? Do you really think if anyone would like to enter this shabby blacksmith store?" Man said.

That's when I looked around the shop, yes it was shabby…

"Indeed, it is shabby…." I replied.

"You don't need to be this honest," He sighed, "So would you like to buy it?"

"Sure, if I can afford it."

Finally, I have a weapon now, all thanks to that man. Wait... I didn't ask his name, "Sigh," well, next time, I guess.

I walked towards the station to get onto a carriage that would be traveling to Hillford. If I remember, Hillford town lies east of the Sapein Kingdom and near the Great Mountain.

[Explaination]

Towards the East of the Sapein Kingdom lies Orientem City and Hillford town. You can even find the Great Mountain that divides the Elvian Kingdom (Kingdom of Elves) and the Sapein Kingdom. Hillford town was recently developed into a town.

My first mission includes traveling, huh? This should be an easy mission except for the traveling part since it takes six to seven hours to reach Hillford town. In between, this carriage might stop at the Orientem City. Well, I will just take a nap and refresh myself.

~ Five Hours Later ~

I reached before the expected time. Alright, then I will go meet up with the Mayor.

___________________________

I entered the Mayor's Mansion and walked into Mayor's room with permission to enter. As I entered the room, I introduced myself, "Sir, I am Arturo Kei, an Adventurer."

Mayor stands up with contentment.

"Are you here for the mission we put up in the Guildhall?" He asked me

"Indeed, I have come here for it." I took out the mission request page and showed it to Mayor.

Seeing that, Mayor said, "Okay, I shall fill you up the details we know about those goblins."

After hearing the details from the Mayor, I walked out of the mansion.

So those goblins haven't done anything, which means they are just the leftover goblins who don't have any leader. And this Mayor also knows about the goblins quite a lot. My body is stiff because of the traveling.

I stretched my arms and legs,

He might have thought which Adventurer comes for a mission without any body armor or protection, Well that's me. "Hehe." It's not like I am confident or something like that. It's because I am poor and can't buy that equipment.

___________________________

I reached the forest Mayor mentioned. Now I from the information I got; They suspect that those goblins live inside a cave. So I need to look for a cave.

{The Great Mountain is covered with a dense forest around it, so it's easier for monsters like goblins to live.}

Finding a cave, eh? Aha, I can use that.

I sat down on the ground and closed my eyes. Seconds later, Here they are…. Oh, that's a lot of them, considering that they don't have a leader yet.

{Each being in this world has mana inside them. With the help of sensory magic, you can find anyone if they have mana inside them. But what Art uses is not sensory magic but something similar and inferior to it.}

Now, Now… It's time to hunt some monster down.

I used wind over my body and dashed forward. I see two of them in 10 meters. As the distance closed in, I slashed both of them down.

Oh my… Did they notice me? Not that it matters. Once again, I dashed in. I continued killing them until none of them remained.

I got out of the cave. Ahh! It's finally done. Since I have got time, shall I explore this forest? I might find some more low-level monsters.

I was about to run deep into the forest, my eyes fell on the emerald pendant, and I stopped.

I guess I will stop here and return. Like what if I find some higher monster and die? So I should go back and get my reward.

I decided that I would return back and let Mayor know that I was done with the mission. But before that, I need to get proof.

{proof of something related to your mission so that after completing that, you can get your rewards.}

So I once again went inside the cave and tried to get something for the proof.
