12 Floor-5

Chapter 12: Floor-5

I left the room and decided to walk around here and there and pass some time. Minutes later, walking down the streets, I met Layla and Chloe.

"Oh, Hey Art! If you are not busy, wanna join us? Layla and I are going to have our lunch in the restaurant we ate yesterday." Chloe said. I haven't eaten anything since morning; I guess it's not a bad idea.

"If you are okay with it, then gladly."

Then it was decided that we would have our launch there, looking at them and the bags they were holding. They went shopping. Upon reaching, we took a seat most comfortable for us.

"So, Art, what were you doing till now?" Chloe asked me.

"Did some training and thought I would wander around here and there and pass my time," I replied.

"And that's when we met you, right?" and I nodded.

We ordered our food, and meanwhile, waiting for that, Chloe asked, "Hey, by the way, Art, you have a sister, right? Can I know her name?" And that's when Layla, who was kinda quiet this whole time, said, "Chloee, you shouldn't suddenly ask someone something like that."

"No, it's fine. I don't really don't mind saying." I said with a smile on my face.

"See Layla? Take it, easy girl," she said.

"My sister's name is Eleanor, though we call her Eli most of the time."

"Eli? Aww, that's a cute nickname she got."

"I know, right?"

Our lunch arrived, and we started having while Layla and Chloe talked among themselves and in between also talking to me so that I didn't get bored.

They are so caring…

After lunch, they went back to the Guildhall, and I continued wandering around.

Again a few minutes later, I heard my name being called out.

"Art!" Someone shouted, and this voice – Oh! It's Daniel. I turned around and saw him waving and running towards me.

"What you doing all alone?" he asked me.

"Noting, I just had lunch with Layla and Chloe, and now I am just walking around," I replied.

"Lunch with girls, eh? Lucky!!" he groaned.

"Is that so?"

"Of course!! Well, keeping that aside, I have been meaning to ask you something." He spoke.

"Hmm?"

"Yesterday, when those werewolves attacked us, you said there was someone else who was waiting for us, right?"

By asking something, he meant about yesterday, eh?

"Yes."

"I, not just me, but we all wanted to know, but yesterday in the heat of the moment, we all forgot. So instead, I will ask. Can I know who it was?" Daniel asked me.

"Oh, that, it was their leader, Alpha," I answered.

"And you killed me, right?" he slightly sighed.

"Yeah," I answered, and suddenly he started laughing.

"You are indeed interesting, Art. Like killing an Alpha all by yourself and also without any scratch on you?"

He then stopped laughing. No – not just stop laughing, but the tension between us increased.

"Hey Art," he called out my name in a slight voice, "If I ask your mana core stage, will you answer it? Since many of us don't want to reveal ours and also we never mentioned ours."

"I seriously don't mind answering," I replied.

"So…?"

"It's a dark-yellow stage."

"Damn! Dark-yellow stage? When you are just 14?" he screamed out of shock, I think?

I didn't say a single word because I didn't know what to say.

"Well, I won't say that you are some sort of genius since I don't know how much effort you put into reaching this stage. But I really think you are not amazing because of your colour stage. Instead, you are not scared and willing to move forward no matter what happens. At least that's the feeling I am getting whenever I watch you." Daniel said, a tint of a smile and sadness on his face while looking down the ground."

"Well, I will be honest here. I am light-green, just a stage behind you." With that tint of smile and sadness disappeared, he confidently told me his mana core stage.

"Daniel, can I too ask you something." He replied, "Go ahead."

"Why did you become an Adventurer?" I questioned him with a straight face.

"Adventurer, eh? Because it's boring to do things like getting into the military and all. Well, I am not criticizing anyone. But I wanted to be free, and I wanted to explore this world. I feel like this is not the end; instead, it's just the starting of everything. Don't you think so, Art?" Daniel smiled.

"Yes, I do think that way." I agreed with him. "Explore, eh? I, too, want to explore this world just like you, and sometimes I feel scared because of that. But if I get scared now, I might regret that a lot in the future, and I don't want to regret anything this time." When I said this, Daniel stared at me with a serious face.

"Huh? Did I say something wrong?"

"Art, are you sure you are 14? Cause sometimes I feel like you are older than me too."

"And what if I said I am actually older?"

"I won't be surprised."

I started laughing so did he.

We then started talking about other random things, and without knowing, we ended up right in front of the Guildhall. And then we went back into our room.

If I ever wanted a brother, I would want someone like Daniel. He is kind of cool, and I wish I could contact them until the end.

Do I get scared? I just realized that I am no more scared of them, right? Is it because I hate them so much? Or is it just that I cannot get scared after what I have seen in my past life.

~ The Next Day ~

It's our third day hunting in the dungeon. I guess it's either our last day or the second last day for hunting.

"So, let's go?"

As James said, we all entered the dungeon once again.

You guys might have a doubt about monster respawning, right? Monster respawning happens only in this dungeon and not in other dungeons. It's because of the Dungeon boss of this dungeon. Each dungeon has a main boss or the final boss who actually rules the dungeon. In my previous life, Naomi killed the final boss of this dungeon. Since I was not there with her that day, I didn't have much idea about the final boss, but she said it was a demon. So, if we kill that demon, this dungeon will become just an empty dungeon.

We are now at Floor-4's portal that will take us to Floor-5. We passed the rest of the floors without any problem.

By the way, there's also a restriction on using the portal. And the restriction is that only five can pass through a portal, and once five passes, the portal deactivates for the next one minute. That's also the reason why only five of them are allowed in a party.

Floor-5 in this dungeon is slightly different from the rest of the floors. Floor-5 has different rooms, and each is connected to one another.

Minutes later,

We heard the voice of low orcs from a different room, so we lurked in, and yeah, it was none other than three low orcs present here in this room. I had my doubts that they would be a group with a leader.

We decided to take these three low orcs without making any loud sound.

Chloe used "Freeze," and Daniel used "Fire-pierce," I used my sword to kill them.

{Freeze: It freezes the target/targets (depending on the caster's ability, the radius increases). Tier-3 spell.}

{Fire-pierce: A sharp fire whip shot at the target. This can one-shot the target (depends on the target). Tier-4 spell.}

We took down those low-level orcs without any problem. We then again lurked into a different room where we heard the voice of low orcs. And we found a group of ten low orcs with a leader.

"So, what's the plan? "Daniel asked.

"I got a plan. Would you like to hear it?" I spoke.

"If it is your plan, I won't mind," Daniel said.

"I see," I smiled.

I shared my plan with them, and they all agreed.

It's time to hunt some orcs.
