11 A Surprise Attack

Chapter 11: An Ambush

We have been walking for continuously ten minutes straight. "James, are there even any monsters in this dungeon?" Daniel asked him.

"Well, they need to be," James replied, but yeah, it is really quiet here.

We continued walking.

"Is that a gate over there?" Chloe pointed out. We all looked in the direction she pointed.

"Indeed, it's a door," James replied.

We walked towards that gate and stood in front of it. "That's a huge one," Daniel commented, and James asked," Want to go inside?" to us.

We nodded in agreement to James, and Daniel and James pushed the gate. They opened it, and we all entered, and it's a room-like structure. As we were looking around the room, "Stay close, okay?" James said.

Is that a soldier statue? Weird, why are there statues inside this room. No sightings of this room were mentioned in the guide, though.

Through my peripheral view, I saw something moving. I immediately turned around but didn't see anything unusual. Was it my imagination? I continued looking around the room, and I was not wrong.

"Wind Step," using it, I instantly got near it, and I smacked it heavily and destroyed one of the statutes.

"What happened? Why --" I interrupted James and shouted, "They are not your normal statues. They are actually golems." And soon, other statues started moving.

We all fell back to a single point, and the statues started moving towards us like puppets.

{Golems: Golems are actually one of the guardians of the dungeon. They either guard a particular room or passage. They are the weakest guardians of the dungeon.}

James uses "Aggro" and pulls the golem's attention. Daniel was ready with his fire element, and Chloe & Layla watched our backs.

There are roughly twenty of these golems, I drew my sword, and we were now ready to destroy these stones. Minutes later, we defeated all the statue golems.

"Is everyone okay?" Layla asked us.

Daniel waving back at her, said, "Yes-Yes, we are all fine." And also, we searched the room, hoping to find something useful. But after searching for thirty minutes, we couldn't find anything. And the reason we took thirty minutes is so that we don't miss something important here, well we even took a small break of 5-10 minutes. We then decided that we would return for today.

We started walking back towards the portal of Floor-4. I wonder why they didn't the werewolves attack us while we were on Floor-3. I mean, they should know that we were in there. I have a bad feeling about this thing. I even talked about how easily we got past Floor-3. They too agreed, but I guess they were all on guard, so I don't have to worry about that.

And the reason I haven't told them about my ability to sense the life forms because I might be wrong too. And as of now, I am not sure if I can actually sense the higher treats, so I don't want them to rely on me when I cannot confidently help them.

After reaching the portal, one by one, we passed through it, and I was the last one to pass. By the time I passed through, everyone had left the safe area.

{Safe area: A small area in which monsters cannot come in.}

Suddenly, I sensed someone attacking Daniel. I pointed my finger used "Wind-shot." And that's when I realized.

{Wind-shot: A ranged attack spell, which acts as a wind bullet. Tier-2 spell.}

"Guys prepare for the battle; we are surrounded by the werewolves," I shouted. They were surprised but, they were fast enough to retreat back together.

And I can also sense someone not among this pack of werewolves; I guess I have to go and greet it.

"Leader, I have a request. Can you guys handle these werewolves? There's someone who is waiting for us ahead." I asked for permission to leave the battlefield and go somewhere else.

"Can you solo it?" James asked me, and confidently I replied, "Obviously."

"Alright, then you can, Chloe, back him up." And Chloe nodded in agreement.

"I will be going," saying that I dashed through the werewolves. Two of them are looking out for me, and from the back, Chloe used, "Ice-shot" which hit them, and I easily passed them.

So passed the werewolves, leaving them to those guys. So, the one who is waiting for us is inside a cave, eh?

I walked inside the cave, and the one who was waiting for us was none other than the leader of werewolves, Alpha himself, huh?

{Alpha are those who act like the leaders for the werewolves.}

"I don't care if you are the leader of your small group, nor do I care what you monsters try to do. But you all tried to attack the group I am in." I spoke.

My anger was building up, and I released my bloodlust. I wanted to kill this Alpha from the bottom of my heart.

"You dare to look down on us humans? But right now, you are scared just like you need to be." I drew my sword and, in an instant, used "Art of Flame Sword – Single Slash." A fierce slash of fire, and he was cut down in a single strike.

"Worry not. I will kill each and every one of you."

Sh*t! I just lost my control for a moment. "Sigh," I should learn to control my emotions better. Well, this one is dead. Now, let's head back to those guys.

I rushed back, and James shouted from there and asked, "So did you find the one you were looking for?"

Oh, they are all fine, Hush!

"Yes, I did, thanks to you."

We poached werewolves' skins, not all but some.

{Skins of werewolves are best suited for making clothes.}

We then decided to go back for today. Later that day, after returning back, we went for dinner together.

We talked about where we were from and about our family. Then James & Daniel got drunk. They started talking about their love life and how they got dumped later on. I enjoyed talking to them. If I remember, I never did something like this in my previous life. By the way, I am the youngest among them. James is 22, Daniel is 19, Layla & Chloe are 17.

After dinner, we were back at our own rooms (Rooms inside the Guildhall), and we decided that for just tomorrow, we won't be going for any hunt so that we could enjoy. James is an outstanding party leader, and I would love to go hunt with him in the future.

Since I had nothing, I slept.

~ The Next Day ~

I woke up early since I have been kinda waking early morning for a week. "Sigh."

Why did I even wake up early today? There's nothing I can do. Wait, why don't I do the training that I did under Miss Enya. I got an idea. For an hour or so, I will do the physical training, then do some meditation, and yes, I will try using Ki enchantment.

~ Hour Later ~

Yes, I am done with physical exercise. So, moving towards meditation.

Yes, meditations are essential for magic users. And that's because it will increase your mana usage efficiently.

{Through meditation, one can improve his mana usage. And doing so will help you fight against someone stronger than you.}

All you need to do is play with the flow of your mana inside your body, right from the mana core. While I am at it, I will consume the remaining mana crystals.

Yet again, after an hour, I was done with my meditation and mana consumption from the crystal. Now it is time for Ki enhancement.

But before that, a small break….

As you know, Ki enchantment is about concentrating your Ki at one point (Like your hand, leg, or any part of the body). Ki will continuously flow inside your body without breaking its flow even when you keep on concentrating your Ki's flow at a point. But the concentrated flow will break once your concentration breaks. So, it all depends on your concentration level. And yeah, you can use Ki and mana at the same time. Just think mana outside your body and Ki inside your body.

But using both Ki and Mana for body enchantment will actually be a waste since you add Ki's and Mana's body enchantment. So, you can use Ki's enchantment at one point and mana's enchantment at another point, but again, that's not at all easy.

~ Minutes Later ~

I am done with the Ki enchantment too. For today this much is enough. Will take a shower and head out, and then wander around.
