Aftermath

Within an alley out in the suburbs a young boy was playing with the 'dog' he had rescued from being killed and eaten by some cruel people, receiving a beating in the process.

It was also while his body was hurt and playing with this friendly 'dog' that a voice like soothing thunder pressed into his ears.

"Ave Torum." These words rang within his mind like a bell, looking towards the sky all he could see was a rift, a massive rift, something he had not noticed before.

Swiftly deciding to seek shelter he picked up his new friend and ran to the local dump, his 'home.'

By the time he arrived the screaming of people was reverberating all around him, even this far out in the dump he could still hear their screams of terror.

"What the hell is going on?!?!" Terror too swept him up, the little one in his arms also seemed to be affected by the screaming and started squirming and whimpering in fear.

"Master Orem, or god to all of you, has tasked me with giving you all one last message, he can no longer protect this world, and so as his last gift, I will bestow you all the ability to become stronger!" Then was when a voice tore through the sky and landed within his ears, confusion riddled his mind though not for long as a golden light descended upon him and the little 'dog.'

"So comfortable!" The light once it had entered his body immediately radiated a feeling of comfort, but their still was a lingering feeling of grief within him for some unknown reason.

Looking towards the sky the boy was worried, he was never a believer in god or anything of the sort, however for some reason he felt extremely worried for this being in the sky.

"Summoning: Forbidden Requiem!" The voice once again split the sky, and in the next moment an innumerable amount of skeletons descended upon the area surrounding him like a tide.

"Wha--!" In the next second however the feeling of comfortableness took over and he was sent into unconsciousness.

The creatures all around him seemed to not care, though not a single one of them touched him or the 'dog' simply going around, the feeling of pity emitting from within their hollow skulls.

Within his unconsciousness a small flame lit up the darkness, "Whats that?" the quiet echo of steps rang out within this world of darkness, the boy coming closer every second.

"Shadow Squire, you have chosen a unique profession indeed." Once he was close with a small move of his hand he touched the fire though it did not burn, but instead it was rather comforting, though in the next breath the flame spoke and a surge of knowledge appeared in front of him, the fire turning into words and images.

"Sha...Shadow squire?" Astonishment colored his voice, the sheer surrealness of the situation rooting him to the spot, though he did not survive this long by freezing.

The voice from before said that our 'god' had decided to sacrifice himself and then he said something about giving us strength, then the light and then darkness, the light must be this fire and the power must be what this fire gives us, and I have been given whatever this Shadow squire thing is, I mustn't squander this, He thought taking less than a breaths time to organize his thoughts.

"Then let's take a look!" Just like this he delved into the knowledge given by the fire.

So then to be short, the information is basically that this fire, the profession fire, is a gift given by our go-, protector, and he gave us this because he could no longer protect us, this fire lets us get stronger, the more powerful the flame is the more powerful the person and the higher the chance to class up, Thinking up to here he took a moment to organize his next thoughts.

Then I have been decided to be a shadow squire, essentially a summoner and swordsman mix, the skills I received from this profession should not be more than a regular summoner or swordsman would get, that is, if the basic profession are balanced, and as for the skills, Soul Requiem and Soul Blade, these two skills are yet to be tested so their power is unknown, With this he had also organized his thoughts on his profession.

Then the method to become stronger, so cruel, you must take other peoples profession fires and integrate them into your own, essentially the more you kill the more you get, and all of this is through chanting like some cult, Finally he had also set his destination for strength, through bloody slaughter.

"Seems everything will never be the same will it, Buddy." His consciousness began clearing up, his mind and body waking up to a more refreshed feeling, power flowing through his every fiber, speaking to the 'dog' that lay next to him.

"The world is dead, Master." Surprise and confusion shot into the boy like a hurricane as the 'dog' spoke.
