22 Brother Nanfeng

"CEO Lu, what a pleasure to meet you here," Jiang Jinnan put on his most flattering smile as he looked at Lu Nanfeng.

"I am here today with my fiance to celebrate our four year anniversary of being a couple. It is an honor to meet you today, why don't we invite you for a drink?"

Lu Nanfeng looked at the two of them, his eyes full of anger. "So you two were together even before Lixue went into a coma?" he asked gently, his voice like a spring breeze, but carrying with it unimaginable strength.

Both Jiang Jinnan and He Huiling looked at He Lixue with shock. Had Lu Nanfeng just called her Lixue so intimately? What was the relationship between the two of them?

Lu Nanfeng saw that their expressions turned ugly, and he walked past them and sat down opposite He Lixue. He reached out his hand and caressed her head gently, adoration was evident on his face, as he said. "Have you had time to look at the menu? What would you like to eat? You can order anything; I will give you whatever you want."

He Lixue knew that Lu Nanfeng was doing it on purpose. He wanted to show He Huiling and Jiang Jinnan that she also had a backer, and she felt fortunate to have Lu Nanfeng as a friend.

"Brother Nanfeng, I looked at the menu, but I was not sure about what I wanted. Why don't you decide and surprise me?"

Lu Nanfeng heard her call him Brother Nanfeng again, and he was quite pleased. This was not a bad way of being addressed.

"Sure, I will pick some dishes, and you can eat as you please," he said and waved his hand. A waiter arrived right away, and Lu Nanfeng ordered a wide variety of dishes.

Jiang Jinnan and He Huiling were standing by the side, frozen like two statues; they did not know what was happening. He Lixue had become an ant in front of their feet now, but somehow she had jumped all over Lu Nanfeng's head? She even called him Brother Nanfeng!

"So Miss He and Mister Jiang, I am sorry, but I need to entertain my little Lixue. I do not have the time to spend with you, and honestly, I don't feel like it would do me any good to have a relationship with someone who is known for having backstabbed and robbed their own family member of all her wealth."

Lu Nanfeng was not at all polite, his words were rude, and he was clearly standing up for He Lixue, making He Huiling and Jiang Jinnan feel immensely shameful and also angry.

But no matter how angry they became, they dared not erupt in front of Lu Nanfeng. Even though they had taken over everything from He Lixue, and had become a well-known name in the upper-class society, there was still quite a distance between themselves and Lu Nanfeng, who stood at the helm of the country. He was even known as a king of business both here and overseas.

Unsure of how to salvage the situation, He Huiling and Jiang Jinnan were just standing there and observing how Lu Nanfeng was showering He Lixue with affection.

No one would believe it if someone said that they did not have any relationship, but how on earth had their relationship evolved to what it was now? One has to know that she had only been awake for only a short time!

During this short amount of time that she had been awake, she had somehow managed to latch onto the most eligible bachelor in the entire country.

Looking at the weak He Lixue, He Huiling frowned. Then she took a step forward and looked at Lu Nanfeng before she sighed and said regretfully.

"Dearest Cousin, I understand that you are frustrated with how things are now. It is hard to accept that your fiance had left you when you woke up from your coma, I can imagine the blow it was to your heart, but that does not mean you should try and drown your sorrows with another man.

"Think about how weak your body is now; are you truly able to withstand CEO Lu's advances? Do you think that you can survive it?

"Don't gamble with your life; you should accept reality already. Jiang Jinnan is now my fiance, and you have nothing more to do with the upper class of society. Just accept it and live a peaceful life.

"You also don't want CEO Lu to be in a tough position. With such a weak body, is it even reasonable for you to be out and about? You ought to consider your own position, not to mention, the fact that you are sleeping around even before your body is healed. This will leave neverending sorrows for you in the future."

He Lixue looked at He Huling as if she was an idiot, and just as she was about to retort, Lu Nanfeng put a finger on her lips in a seductive way.

"I do not need Miss He to worry about me and my dear's affairs," he said. "I am naturally not going to harm her in any way. You make it sound as if she has prostituted herself to me, but the truth is that she is my dearest darling, my little treasure. Don't try and smear our relationship just because you cannot understand something as pure as us.

"And about Mister Jiang. I am sure that my dearest Lixue let go the moment she woke up. She is not the kind of woman who will hang onto something that does not belong to her; she will willingly let go since you chose to betray her.

"So please, do not worry about He Lixue in the future, I will make sure that she lives well. I will give her what she wants and protect her from anyone who wants to harm her. You should be more worried about yourself and your current bad reputation. It is not an easy task to solve, but it seems that you are still in the mood to go out to eat."
