10 A deal

A bright light flashed and she was blinded for a few seconds. When the light disappeared she noticed that she was still on the chair in the interrogation room. However, this time she was unbound. She was in her sixteen yer old body with with four figures standing a distance away from her staring at her. Rye, Layna, James and a short, built man with a domineering aura. They had made her re-live her memories! She could't hold back her emotions, tears flooded her eyes. " WHY?!"She yelled, she lifted her hands to her face miserably, "Why would you do that?" The volume of her voice reduced significantly.

James and Rye took a few steps forward but Layna held them back, reluctance flashing through her eyes. They both stopped with a hint of unwillingness. James then looked at Jenny with a compassion she had never expected to see in those hard, hazel eyes. He scratched the back of his head while he tried to find the right words.

"Jenny...w-we didn..."He was cut of by a cold voice that was deeply laced with authority.

"Listen girl, cut the attention seeking pity show. Your just a little crybaby stuck in a body that you clearly do not belong in!...You should probably know that this place isn't a nursery." It was that man.

Rye and Layna looked at him with mortified expressions while James was gritting his teeth as he glared at him with evident malice. Jenny looked at the man with disdain and offhandedly dried her eyes.

"BANE!" James roared as he stomped towards the man," You saw...you saw it all and all you want to do is spout out such insensitive words!" James gritted out as he threw a punch at the man in rage. The man smirked, blocked the punch, grabbed James' arm and hurled him to the ground. Thereafter he smugly sat upon his fallen opponent and faced Jenny once more. He was clearly strong.

"I've been told and I've seen from your pathetically pitiful memories that your name is Jenny..." He paused but not for an answer but to give Jenny a nasty grin.

Coldly, slowly, he spoke, "We were unable to access a large part of your memories. It's a ten year gap starting from after your geezers died and ending when you met Nina and those brats.I need to know...what happened. Tell me."

Jenny smirked at the man, Then looked at James who was still a chair to the man but stubbornly refused to give up fighting or look away from Jenny.

"Why should I speak to such a brute." She asked looking at James who stopped struggling upon her words and a smirk broke out across his face. " We may be prisoners, but even prisoners have the right to be kept away from filthy trash." She stated, pointing her chin towards the man on top of him. " Why are you letting it stay on you? The stench will kill you." She continued.

Rye and Layna gazed at the two with humour. However, it did not last for long as Layna shook her head, cleared her throat and moved towards the man who was holding in his rage.

"Bane. I don't think she responds to... whatever you did." She stated with a coaxing tone," Why don't you get off the child and start over? You know the boss won't take any failures."

Bane gritted his teeth and after a few tense seconds, he nodded grudgingly. He then stood up, freeing James from his clutches.

"Whoa! It's humanoid trash." Jenny said sarcastically as she finally looked at Bane.

Bane let out a strained sigh," I'm only doing this because I have to...my name is Bane, so stop calling me trash you squirt."

Jenny smirked even more," The words that came out of your mouth since I met you were trash, so I, like any other human being with intelligence on this Earth, used my intellect and came to a conclusion that you were just a pile of..." Jenny paused, " TRASH."

Bane gritted his teeth even harder, to a point that Jenny could also hear it from where she was sitting a metre away. Layna examined the two than moved to stand between them. She first turned towards Bane and gave him a meaningful look, then she turned to Rye who was holding back his laughter but immediately sobered up when his eyes met Layna's cold ones. He understood what she wanted him to do.

He walked towards Jenny and stood before her resolutely." Listen. Jenny. We're sorry, it was meant to be a happy one but...we messed up...sorry." he said full of remorse.

" I know this is a lot to ask, but can you please hear him out? Then you can leave if you want." He coaxed.

Jenny examined Rye and saw pure sincerity but Jenny did not respond, she only looked away from Rye and straight at Bane. She sighed." What do you want Bane!" she questioned resentfully.

Bane looked at Layna and Rye with resentment for achieving something he could't. He took a deep breath," I'm sorry." he said with feigned sincerity," Now, tell me everything. How you hid your memories, what's in those memories, and most importantly, who you really are."

Jenny smirked. " I don't want your trashy apologies" Everyone paused. " However, I've decided...Let's make a deal." Jenny continued without hesitation.

Bane smiled smugly," Fine, what is it little girl?"

" My family and I will live here and I give you all the information you want." Everyone was startled. Was getting information this easy? Jenny looked at Bane scornfully. What would he do?
