4 A small wager!

A week left, I smiled while admiring my brother's gifts.

After the TV show ended, I decided to call my best friend James because I am soon moving away, I know that my brother will not give up that easily.

As I planned to use my WP to call, but WP rang before I could call.

To my luck, it was James who was calling me. I took the call and heard: Hey Phoneix!

My answer: What's up?

James: Wanna hit Game Center, I heard Legsenna will fight against Tarkada.

Me: We can go, but Tarkada, will win anyway.

James: Probably yea, I will be below soon, come fast.

After those words, James closed the WP. I looked at myself and found that I am ready to go, I just gotta take shoes.

After I put my shoes on, I went out of the apartment, and to the nearest elevator, when I reached below I found that James was already waiting for me with his yellow Ranger car, one of the newest models.

When I got in the car, James smiled and told me: Finally, next time please run.

I just nodded.

James: Why so quiet today?

Me: My brother got promoted.

James: What's bad about that?

Me: Gotta leave soon, next week to tell the truth.

James: Where going?

Me: Planet Red Night.

James: That's a good place, far better than Earth, you can't find any greenery on earth anymore, even water is brought from other planets.

Meanwhile, James started to drive to the Game Center.

James: And Red Night is still a pure, and mostly unexplored planet. If you want I can come with you, my dad would welcome it, my older sister also works on that planet.

Me: You seem like an expert now.

James: Well sister annoys me almost every day, to call me there.

Me: Well then you can come with me and give your sister good news.

James: Definitely, she will be happy.

James looked at my hands and arms and said: New tools I see.

I smiled mysteriously.

James: Did you make a contract?

Me: Yes.

As we talked we soon arrived at the Game Center, its place where young people hang out.

James: Damn no where to park, I let you down here, damn match is too popular, luckily I rented a spot at parking building, but it's a bit further away.

Me: See ya. I will buy drinks.

James: Get me Frost Volcano.

I got off from James car and moved to the Game Center, it was a gigantic building, you could say, that two times of football field.

But in the Game Center, you can play Virtual games, and watch Mutant fights, or other popular programmes. The building may be big, but everywhere I look I see people going in and out, mostly in, because soon a match will be held, not in this arena, but it will be hologrammed in this arena as well.

As I went inside, I thought that today's match seems to be far more popular than usual, it was really packed here. When I got to the counter, I asked for two drinks, I got myself Apple fruit juice, and Frost Volcano for James.

Frost Volcano is a good drink, but I don't like the freezing effect afterward, and it tastes like mint.

After that, I went to the arena, we usually sit always at the same spot or near it, to find each other easily, all our friends usually sit near our spot.

We aren't the only ones, others do it as well.

When I got near my spot, I saw it was taken, luckily I saw James other friend waving at me, I went and sat near him.

He said: Yo, James coming as well?

I said: He will come, I don't drink Frost Volcano.

He: Are you betting?

Me: No, just watching.

He: But Tarkada will win, why not?

Me: Share will be canceled or small, I would rather bet on the opponent, even if I lose.

He didn't bother me anymore, and I was happy because I found him annoying like always, I haven't even bothered to remember his name, I know it started with Y.

Soon after James came, he told us Hi. I gave up my seat to James and sat one to the left, to get James middle, because the gambler wasn't my friend.

I don't like him, because he loves gambling, and I got beaten mistakenly by his friends. He lied that I had his cash, which he owned to his friends. I ended up in hospital, later my brother came and messed them up. After that, they avoid or don't talk about anything related money, expect that gambler duck.

It feels like he doesn't remember, but I know he knows.

As I remembered that bad day, I got angry, I was planning to call my brother and see if he can send him to prison for a day.

Before I could make the call, James spoke: Phoenix, you not gonna bet?

I looked at him and told: You too? Fine, I will bet on Legsenna, there is no winning chance with Tarkada.

James: I bet on Tarkada, but you are right, I will only get my money back without any extra.

Me: That's why you gotta sometimes try your luck.

James: Sure, sure, even Yark bets on Tarkada.

Me: Well we will see.

I opened my WP and connected it to the Game Center, I bet all my free cash, in other words, this week's allowance on Legsenna. It wasn't all my money, I but every week a quarter of my allowance is on another account, for emergencies or big purchases.

But I still haven't bought anything. At first, I dreamed of buying a spaceship, but later, I just kept collecting.

On WP I moved screen unitly I found todays fight betting poster, I clicked on it to open the betting page.

After I confirmed my bet, I looked at James and told him: All done, we will see who laughs last.

James spoke: Don't worry Food one me later.

He had that smug smile, what winners make when they watch losers struggling.
