' Mary Geoise, the holy land where only World Nobles and their slaves can live. It's beautiful. ' The anime didn't do the place justice. Every building was a mansion built out of stone that shimmered in the daylight.

And the constant mist surrounding the city only enhanced its beauty, but underneath it all, a sinister work was at hand. There was no doubt in my mind that that slave labor built this supposed holy land.

" Take the bitches to the regular prison, but the boy stays with me. " The Maines saluted as they took the Gorgan sisters away, but I couldn't spare them any more of my time. The interest Shalria had taken in me was scary. The world nobles weren't supposed to treat slaves this well.

I escorted Shalria right up to her mansions gate before I was taken around the back and thrown into a stone shed.

My hands cuffed to a wall, and the only thing that lit the room was a small lantern. Instead of tools and hardware, all calibers' torture devices filled the room, casting ominous shadows from the candlelight.

With the cold stone floor and the thin clothes on my back, I was sure that I would freeze to death, but eventually, my brain forced my body into a dream world.

The next morning wasn't any better. I was ruefully awoken by Shalria's servant, who almost had to drag me as I wasn't in the mood when I saw where Shalria was. A pit of despair formed in my stomach, a full-on gladiator ring.

Shalria was in a VIP box overlooking the ring. The sadistic look in her eyes did not help my nerves at all.

With no introduction, the Marines threw me into the ring. Now at a much closer level, I could see iron bars built into the ring walls.

I could hear the roars of various beasts inside. Luckily in my panic, I spotted a rack filled with weapons.

Running over, I had just enough time to arm myself with a katana when I heard gears' grinding as one of the metal doors opened.

The felt awkward in my hand, but I would have to learn fast. My first opponent wasn't what I had imagined. Ten furry black balls bounced out of the cage and into the ring. My beating heart considerably slowed as I sighed in relief.

But as soon as I let my guard down, the balls started to shake and quiver before pouncing towards me. Woefully under ready for the attack, the balls of fur struck my sticking to my body like glue.

A second later, I could feel then bite down on my flesh and start sucking away at my blood. Fueled by anger, I ripped off the annoying beast throwing them away, leaving behind what looked like needle wounds.

I didn't have much time to tend to myself as they came right back for me. Prepared this time, I used my sword's flat face like a bat hitting the ones I couldn't dodge far away.

But my brute strength did little to help me. The furballs seemed to be impervious to blunt damage. Bouncing off the walls of the gladiator pit, it wasn't long before they built up enough momentum to be a black blur in my version.

On the scarce chance, I was able to hit one of the monsters. But the impact felt like a three hundred pound man named Raquice shoulder checked me.

When the buggers did hit, which was most of the time, I fell to the ground. I didn't know how much blood I had to spare. I felt cold and weak, which was not a good sign.

I had dropped my sword in exchange for having to hands to rip off the furry bastards faster.

The furballs sensed my weakness and went into a frenzy. There was no way I would die here like this without reaching my thirtieth.

Something seemed to click inside me, and even though I couldn't see it, my eyes started to glow. Running over to the katana, I grasped it with two hands as the bloodsuckers pounced again.

A brief vision played across my eyes, telling me exactly where the beast would be. With very clumsy swings, I was able to strike each ball.

For the first time, I heard them squeal in pain, which was music to my ears. Still thirsty for blood, the furballs bounced off the wall again, rebounding straight for me.

My body moved like a leaf in the wind, only dodging the furballs at the last second and turning every which way.

When the opportunity presented itself, I grabbed one of the furballs and squeezed, popping it like a pimple.

It wasn't long before I had exterminated all ten of the furballs, leaving me soaked in blood. It was all worth it, though, ' I thought it was supposed to be more challenging than this, Kenbunshoku Haki is it because of my refined soul. Haki is supposed to be a spiritual power, which could be related to soul power. '

My vision started to swim and I stumbled falling to the ground, ' This sucks. '

Groaning I woke up in a pool of my own blood my hands unbound this time, my wounds still bleeding.

Ripping pieces of my shirt I roughly bandaged my wounds the blood soaking through my clothes in mere seconds.

Crawling over to the corner with the candle in the hope of being warmer I activated my Kenbunshoku Haki.

I need to train I barely survived today, and right now I could move or I die from blood loss so training Haki was my only option.

While it drained me slightly it was in some way relaxing, I could sense everything in a one-meter radius around me. I didn't know this was an application of Haki but it might have been because of my soul.

Time seemed to warp from my perspective, it only felt as if I was training for a few minutes when the door to my cell opened again.
