9 Chapter Nine/Mr. Dimples

-=Lauren=-

I woke up to the sound of my cellphone ringing. Pulling down my covers, I grabbed my phone.

Jason.

What an abso-fucking-lutely gorgeous way to start my day.

I stared at the screen for a while, memories flashing through my head.

**Flashback**

"Happy Anniversary baby."

"You still remember it?"

Says a very happy looking Lauren.

"Of course I do. We have been together for 5 years now."

He smirked at her pulling a red colored velvet box from his pocket.

"Oh my God. What are you-"

"Will you marry me, Laur? Will you be mine?"

He was on his knees stretching out his hands, the ring in his right hand and it's container in the other. Lauren bend down on her knees and broke into tears of happiness.

"I thought that you'd never ask. Hell, I will. Thank you Jace."

"I love you babe."

"I love you too."

**Flashback ends**

I wiped off the stray tears that had made their way down my cheeks, sniffing once or twice. I got ahold of myself, throwing the phone on the bed and jumping in the shower.

I pulled over a blue T-shirt and acid washed jeans, doing my hair in a high pony tail. I jogged downstairs.

"Good morning Ma."

"Good morning, honey. Stacey is still in bed can you go get her?"

"On it, Mrs. Moon."

I pushed open the door and the sight of a very peaceful Stacey laid before me. She was the sweet child of mine.

I settled myself on the brink of her small bed and gently shook her.

"2 more minutes Mommy Ren"

"Wake up buttercup."

"Just a minute, I promise."

She said groggily.

Kissing her forehead, I pulled over her blankets and returned to the kitchen.

"Let her sleep more mom. I'll get going, no time for breakfast."

My mom looked at me and nodded.

"I knew that you would be in a hurry. I've packed a light meal for the both of you."

I smiled at her.

...

-=9.00 am =-

"Hey Jinnie."

I chimed as I entered the hospital room.

"Hey you. I'm hungry. Sis needs food."

"Here to your rescue, mi amor."

I popped open the plastic container that had some kind of sweet smelling porridge in it and passed it to her.

"Aren't you eating?"

"I'm full."

"Good."

"I'll be leaving you then. I've work to do."

She whined while I shut the door behind me.

-=10.30=-

"I'm here. Were are you?"

"The last seclusion of the East wing, 2nd floor. Hurry up."

I made my way to him and sat down on the fancy chair on his opposite side.

"What do you want?"

"I've made myself clear Lauren. You and my daughter."

"I'm not giving you that."

"Babe..."

"If there's nothing else, I'll get going."

"Huh wait."

"I've come here to let you know that we are over, over for good."

He let out a bitter laugh as I turned on my heels.

Not wanting to have another conflict with him, I rushed to the parking lot, towards my van. Just as I was about to get in, he grabbed my hand and twisted it painfully.

I hissed at the pain.

"I mean no harm Laur, be good."

"Shut up you cur."

He tightened his hold as I continued glaring at him.

"She could just let you be taken away by the police and let you rot in the jail, mister."

I turned my gaze at the owner of the voice.

He was a tall guy with striking dragon eyes. He wore a neatly tailored suit with a black tie hanging loosely around his neck. His brown hair was done in a clean middle length bowl cut over the undercut.

Raising his brow he nodded at me and gave my annoying ex a glare that was enough for him to loosen his grip on my hand.

"We aren't done."

He stalked away.

"Thank you for your help, sir."

"No worries."

"I'm Lauren. Glad to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too Lauren, I'm Namjoon."

I extended my hand. He smiled at me as two dimples poked on either side of his face.

Waving him a goodbye, I drove towards my office building.

-=11.45 am=-

I knocked at Taehyung's door before pushing it open.

He looked over at me, extending a boxy smile.

"Good morning Mr. Kim."

"I thought we were over it, Lauren."

His eyes softened.

"Hey, I was just messing with you. Coffee?"

"Could use one."

"On it boss."

I made my way to the coffee machine in the giant kitchen. Just as I was about to turn around, I found that the place had a fridge of my size.

Damn these rich people.

I pulled it open discovering a couple of neatly stacked eggs, veggies, fruits and a whole bunch of groceries.

I decided to make him a french toast cause I could bet my pay that he'd have had nothing.

I grabbed in a pair of chopsticks, his coffee and turned back to his cabin.

I crossed path with Mrs. Hee.

"Good morning Lauren."

"Morning Mrs. Chan."

"Having an early lunch, my dear?"

"Nope, the boss is on an empty stomach. Wouldn't want him to throw tantrums, early in the morning."

I grinned.

She nodded at me as I continued walking away.

I balanced both, the plate and the coffee and opened the door with my right hand.

"Here you go, Tae."

I chimed.

"Thanks Lauren. I'm starving."

"You could've just ordered something, silly."

I threw me a smile as he started digging into his toast.

Just as he was about done, someone knocked at the door.

"Come in."

He barked.

"So the grunt's just for me eh?"

"How would I know that you'd be knocking when the door is closed, Lauren."

"Well, sounds right. I don't know."

He threw his hands over his head as the person knocking the door entered.

"Hey hyung."

"Good morning Taehyung."

I whipped my head around just to find him- Mr. Dimples.

"You?!"

"Hello Lauren. Glad to meet you again."

"Morning Mr. Namjoon."

"How do you both know each other?"

Tae asked curiously.

"He- He shooed away a mad dog for me."

I smirked.
