11 Chapter Eleven/Preoccupied

-=Lauren=-

"Alright then. See you later boss."

"See you, Lauren."

I shrink back in my chair, skimming through Taehyung's to-do list. His email inbox was as clunky as always with tons of junk, business deals, rookie admissions and personal emails. I forwarded the important mails arranging the rest alphabetically. I was particularly drawn to Mrs. Kim aka Tae's mother's email.

~"Dear Taehyung,

Do not obliterate the date that I have arranged for you. Ms. Jun will be waiting for you to arrive at her mansion at around six, evening.

Behave well. Good luck.

Love,

Mom.''~

I forwarded him the message and continued with arranging his schedule.

-=Taehyung=-

I mentally face palmed myself after reading my mother's reminder. She had come up with some new 'Ms. Jun'. Groaning, I dialed Lauren and requested an audience. Hearing a familiar knock, I grunted softly.

"Hey Tae..."

"Lauren."

"What do you need me to do, boss?"

"Have you arranged the meetings for today?"

"Well ahead of time. Check your inbox."

"Thanks. I need you to personally deliver apologies to Ms. ...what was it, Hyun?"

Suppressing a laugh she replied,

"Ms. Jun. On it. Do you want me to buy flowers or something?"

"Fl-Flowers? Ngh...not necessarily."

No wonder you are still unmarried.

She giggled.

"Out at once, Ms. Moon!"

Rolling her eyes, she got out of my sight.

-=Lauren-=

I turned over the flowers in my right hand to the left and knocked on the glass doors before me.

"Who's this?"

Barked the speaker.

"Lauren Min here. Mr. Kim has asked me to deliver his apologies to Ms. Jun..."

I trailed off.

Seconds ticked by as I heard a creak and the door flew open. Out strode a petite woman dressed formally and a poker face latched upon her hard features.

"Ms. Jun is expecting you."

Gently nodding I made my way to the directions assigned to me.

The door was kept open and a lady stood at the very end of it, clad in a blue suit, behind a mahogany table. Typical.

"Good evening Ms-"

She turned about and my mouth hung open in shock.

"Biyu?!"

"Glad to meet you too Eun Jun."

"It's Lauren, now."

I smiled, faintly.

Biyu was my best friend from college. We had lost contact after graduation, as I made my way back to Korea.

"You work for BigHit?"

"So, I do."

Nodding her head, she motions me to take a seat.

"Mr. Kim is unable to attend to you today-"

"I know. I was just about to ask Leila, here, to send him an email myself."

I gave her a questioning glance.

"To say the least...I'm preoccupied."

"Who's it?"

"Someone special...take a seat, please."

"Alright, mind telling me about them?"

"Maybe...Anyway, how did you end up at BigHit anyway? The last time I saw Eun Jun, she'd been plotting some nasty plan eh?"

Biyu sipped her wine.

"Too much work..."

We spent an hour or so catching up with each other.

As I turned around to leave Mi called out for me.

"Lauren?"

"Hm?"

'I missed you."

'Me too hun, me too.'
