25 Thirteenth Vow: Flashbacks

The sunlight entered Victor's room through the spaces in between the grey curtains. Morning came and Catherine is still sound asleep with Victor who is using her chest as a pillow. The AC was on blast but their cuddling warmed their bodies and their friendship.

Victor opened his eyes and lovingly watched Catherine's sleeping face. Long eyelashes and lips slightly parted moved him to awe. Waking up next to Catherine is one of his little joys in life, even before.

He continued to look at his darling until it is her turn to wake up. "Stop staring at me Victor." She moved to the side. 'Wait, what the?' He hazelnuts orbs are fully opened. 'I need to get back, I totally forgot about Grace.'

She got up until Victor held her hand. "Where are you in a hurry to leave? Is something wrong?"

"I need to go home. Grace must be so worried. I forgot to call her!" Victor titled his head. "I answered your phone when you were asleep inside the car. I told her you'll be sleeping here."

"Oh."

"Yeah so, why don't we get back to what we were doing earlier?" He patted the bed. "Fine, but I'll leave before 8:30." If Victor had a tail, it would be wagging happily. They enjoyed the comfort of each other's arms.

A flashback of the past.

"Victor, it's time to wake up! It's already 7:30. You haven't showered yet." A 15-year old Catherine pestered the sleeping Victor. "Five more minutes." He grumbled underneath the covers.

Catherine placed her hands on her hips and thought of a way to wake him up.

Ping!

She knew what to do. Clearing her throat, she whispered on his ear. "It's time for you to get up Victor." The 15-year-old knew how he disliked when she did that. He would turn beet red and throw his pillow at her.

Little did she know that he only did that because he has to calm his pounding heart. On the outside he would act annoyed and ignore her the rest of the day. Deep inside, he can't shake the feeling she stirred within him.

Victor eyes opened the second she finished her sentence. He took his pillow and launch it at her. "Stop that, Rosie!" She laughed and hugged him close to her chest. "You are so cute Victor!"

"Alright, since you're fully awake now, breakfast is ready downstairs."

Even his ears were as flushed as his face, he got up and went inside the bathroom to take a cold, icy shower. "That is too much for my heart to handle." He slapped his cheeks and tried to calm his nerves.

He got down all ready with his bag and saw Catherine nibbling a waffle. He took a seat next to her and took the food on her plate. They were used in sharing a lot of their stuff. She didn't mind it at all nor did Victor.

Victor hated sharing. He hated it so much that he won't let other people borrow even the most little of things like erasers. There were instances that he had to give them what they want and right after, he would throw them away.

Catherine had that privilege. Only she had that honor.

After chugging down the waffles and pancakes, they went to school.

They were always together. He would glare at any male student approaching Catherine. She wasn't all that social with others but some boys would still try to talk to her because she is pretty. The girls in class envied her for being close to Victor.

Three girls pushed her on the locker. She searched for Victor but she remembered he had to go to the teacher's office. "You trash! Why are you so close to Victor huh? I bet you're leaching off his money." The leader smirked.

"You are really disgusting you know? Just because you hang out with him, it doesn't mean you can ignore the rest of us." Catherine tried her best to remain stoic but on the inside, she was crying. She didn't know what to do.

"I-I didn't ignore any o-of you. I-I am ju-" One of the girls cut her off. "Ju-just wh-what?" They all laughed at the way she mimicked Victor's best friend. "What the heck did he see in a stuttering trash like you?"
