14 Seventh Vow: First Date II

Her hazelnut eyes widen in shock. Victor is there, along with three other women she doesn't know. 'It is best to turn around and wait for them to finish.' As she turned around Grey has his gray orbs fixed on her. He mouthed the words, "Head to the right, stop by the fire extinguisher."

Catherine nodded and obeyed. She found it strange how she just followed him. Soon after, Grey is there with her. "Seems like your best friend is a little busy. Why didn't you approach him?"

"I don't like interrupting conversations I'm not part of."

"Hm... Seems rational enough. Alright enough about him, how about we go out to eat?"

Catherine and Grey walked towards the other exit. "Why is it every time I'm with you we go out to eat?" They got inside his car. "I know you like eating the best so why not?" She tittered while fixing her bag at the backseat. "Uh huh, you know it. Why didn't I see you earlier by the way?"

Grey took a U-turn and made their way to a diner he goes ever so often. "I was busy with managing the department and my useless group mates. Heck, one of them said that they can't do the project all because they had to go to this important party. How selfish."

"Yeah, pretty selfish... For an excuse that's very awful. How about the others then?"

"The other one, I worked with him for two times and he's awful at reports. He just copies and pastes everything. No bothering himself reading through the text so, if you ask me, he is also as awful as the first one. My other groupmate is fairly decent but still can't make deadlines."

"What awful group mates."

"Tell me about it..."

They arrived at the diner and sat to the far corner near the window. "This place is pretty quirky. The menu looks good too. I've never been here before though." Catherine examined the menu and thought at which food can meet her budget. "Yeah, I've been a couple of times and this place is pretty good. The chicken special is great."

They ordered and waited for the food. "You know being with you isn't half bad. Just talk to me when we're alone. The people you have been with will probably gossip about us, and I don't like that."

"Ho ho ho, if that's how you phrase that you want some alone time with me Cathy, come on now, don't be so bashful."

Catherine glanced at him with bored eyes. "No Grey, just no... Hanging out like this, is how do I say this... Pretty good I guess since, Trigo literally had me drained. You know, I think it's your first time talking to me about your problems."

"Prepare yourself then therapist, you'll hear more than that. Next time, let's go see the movies. The next three weeks is gonna be hectic for me. I'd like to spend more time with my walking therapist then." Catherine rolled her eyes. "Taking me out to eat is my wage isn't it?" She said halfheartedly.

"Yup, please do a better job then." There was a pregnant pause and they both laughed it off. A waiter in black brought the food and set it down on the table. "Your food ma'am, sir."

"Thank you." They said in unison.

"Jinx."

"Jinx again."

"Real mature Obelia."

"I'd say the same for you Kingsley."

"Ah, whatever let's eat." They gobbled down the food one by one. Starting from the main course then to the dessert. They rambled about their day, some embarrassing moments, facts about themselves like what is their favorite color or favorite drink. The atmosphere felt like a first date.

They got out of the establishment. Catherine just couldn't stop herself from laughing at Grey's horrible attempt at making jokes. It was a dad joke gone wrong. Grey cheeks tinted a visible pink hue. To Catherine, it is absolutely adorable. "Stop laughing Cathy, it's not even funny anymore."

"You should've seen the boy's reaction. It was hilarious. I should use that joke on Grace some other time."

"Don't you dare Cathy, I'm warning you." The faint blush on his cheeks brightened. Catherine laughed even louder. She held her stomach and tears are forming at the ends of her eyes. "Make it stop... Make it stop..."

Even when they got inside the car, Catherine laughter didn't die. She'd giggle every five minutes. Much to Grey's humiliation, he is happy that Catherine is happy at his failure. It wasn't really much a failure now. They arrived at her apartment. "I'll be heading inside dad, thanks for the lift."

"Will you stop that? I'm already embarrassed as it is. Don't rub it on my face." Grey said playfully. As soon as Grey saw Catherine got inside, it is his turn to return to where he resides. At the corner to where the street light died, Victor stood. He saw how close Grey has gotten to his Rosie. His blue eyes gleamed in the darkness. His gripped his hands so hard, his knuckles turned white.

"Not to my Rosie Kingsley. Not to my Rosie..."
