17 Ninth Vow: Former Fiancée Troubles

Hysteric screams and useless fits are heard throughout the walls of Ratchet's bedroom. The maids did not bother calming her down because they would only be beaten black and blue by their ill-mannered mistress. In the eyes of others, she is an angel – a person who cares a whole lot with others. But if they were in the shoes of the maids, they wouldn't even think twice in changing their opinion about her.

Lucia Ratchet grabbed the lamp and destroyed it with all her might, stomping the shattered object. Half the things of her room is in no good condition. Her face looked a mess. The makeup smeared all over, the black tint of mascara ran down her cheeks, her disheveled form made it all evident that she really had a bad day.

To make things worse, the sudden annulment of her engagement with Victor Rovanovich humiliated her far worse than her mother's scandal – A home wrecker of the sorts.

She needed Victor. More like she needed Victor's money and power. Being the heir of one of the greatest companies ever erected, everyone, including her wanted to grasp that.

She continued to throw and wobble around like a maniac. "How dare you Victor! How dare them all!" She kneeled down and sat, her head facing upward. Tears streaming down her pale frame. No matter how elite she could be, designer bags and shoes – she could buy them all. However, the way people label her as the 'prostitute's child', she just cannot live with such social standing.

Victor is her one-way ticket out. No matter how crude marrying a man like him is, she can take all of that with the price of power. None of that matter. She hated him, hated the reason why she has to live that way, hated her mother and hated herself even more so.

"I can fix this. Yeah, I can… All I have to do is convince Victor to take me back." Her sinister titter turned to psychotic laughter that filled the deranged room. She took the broken face mirror that was placed at the corner and looked at her reflection.

"I'm beautiful. So beautiful!" She touched her eyes then her cheeks down to her violet lips. "All I have to do is to drug that bitch Obelia and send Victor pictures! No – videos!"

She stood up and giggled maniacally. "I'll blackmail him, if he won't take me back, I'll ruin her life."

"Victor better take me back."

Morning came and Lucia Ratchet's plan ensued accordingly. She ordered her men to find Catherine Obelia and make sure they will take her to the warehouse. She broke out from her diabolical trance with one of the maid's soft knocking.

"Good morning mistress, the food is ready downstairs. Also, Young master Victor sent this." She handed Lucia a white envelope. Lucia opened it. As she read through the contents, shivers went up her spine. Beads of sweats instantly formed on her forehead.

"You better leave her alone if you don't want to die." These words written in bright red. Lucia can't back out now anyway. She's already dead inside what's being dead physically any different. She might as well make Obelia hate Victor because what is about to happen to her is all caused by Victor.

"You can't scare me Victor." She crumpled the letter and with a spark of the lighter, the paper slowly burned. Its ashes spread on her floor. "I'm not scared Victor. Not to you, not to anyone. Not anymore."

"I am basically asking him to kill me. If I'll do this, I might as well be discreet about it. Ah, let's use one of Victor's enemies."

She dialed the head of the Dallion family, Gerald Dallion. "I'd like to propose something, Gerald."

"What would you offer that would make me give two shits about?"

She explained her scheme well. She sounded articulate about it – to make the plan more enticing and convincing.

"I'll give that some thought. Don't move to fast or else he will notice. You exactly don't have the brightest mind to think about that. If you ask me, that plan of yours, is too sketchy." Gerald Dallion's tone shifted from normal to deep.
