7 Fourth Vow: The Unexpected Encounter

"Hey did you see the new guy?"

"Gosh, he's so hot!"

"Why did he transfer here anyway?"

"Hey, go talk to him! Maybe he'll hangout with us, that'll make us popular!"

The new transferee had the people of the university talking. So much buzzing noise and squeals filled the air so much it became suffocating for Catherine. "What in the?" Catherine scratched her head and headed to the classroom. She is the person who did not like listening to rumors. It was not necessarily beneficial to her. She hated listening to over exaggerated talks and happening to people she hardly know.

Grey suddenly popped out of nowhere when she sat down and plopped her bag on the white polished floor. "Eek! Could you stop that?! Seriously, I tell you Kingsley, I won't last very long if you keep popping out of thin air!" Grey laughed at Catherine's banter. 'Everyday, she more and more adorable. How could I not notice this before?' Grey sat beside and continued to stare at her until she got uncomfortable. "You are digging holes on my face Grey, go stare at someone else please. People are watching."

"Now, now, Cathy. Why would I give two damns about them?"

"If not for you, do it for me then. Please."

Grey scanned her outfit. She wore a white V-neck shirt and baggy olive-green jeans paired with white shoes. Giving Catherine the cute gangster look. To him at least. "You look cute today, Cathy."

"I know you are doing this out of annoyance, please leave me be."

Grey pretended to be hurt by Catherine's statement. "No! Of course not, I have no reason to annoy you. Besides, it rude to say that to man who is currently doing his absolute best in making you his." He said with a wink.

Catherine closed the book and laughed. "Oh really? You really are bored huh?"

"Without you? Yes, very much."

A sudden thought popped inside Catherine's mind. It was her girl talk with Grace. 'Now Cathy, you need to introduce me to him. He needs my approval after all.' Grace said while crossing her arms. 'But Grace! No! I don't want to; I know he isn't serious anyway.'

Grace sighed and swing her hands on her shoulders. 'I'll be the judge of that Cathy. Introduce me to him tomorrow when you meet him. Man, I wish I was studying the same courses as you, I bet I'll see his hot ass every day.' Catherine playfully slapped her right arm and nodded in approval. 'Fine, but be sure to tame yourself before you do. I'll give you a heads-up tomorrow then.'

Grace squealed in delight. 'Don't make me regret this, Grace.' Grace winked at her. 'Don't worry Cathy, you'll never.'

Catherine prepared herself for the worst. She did agree to Grace to let her meet him. "Hey Grey, you free later?" Grey covered his mouth. Clearly hiding his devilish smirk plastered on his beautiful face. "Are you asking me on a date Cathy? And yes, I will gladly oblige to whatever it is that you need." He emphasized the 'need' in a seducing manner.

"What the? If you are trying to seduce me, do better job." She sighed in frustration. "Grace wants to meet actually. She's my friend and she said she will annoy me to death until I agree. So, I would rather prevent that early on. You down?"

"Yeah sure. Where to anyway?" Grey shrugged. He pushed his chair back a little bit.

"Let's go to Graham's."

"There again? How about a restaurant? "

"I really don't have enough money to go to restaurants." Grey stared at Catherine turning his gaze to slits. "You have me, I'll pay."

"Like I said Grey, I don't feel comfortable to people handing down their money for me. I know I don't have much but I still have my dignity." Grey's statement made Catherine uncomfortable, she hated it when people belittle her because she could not reach the financial stability others possess.

"I'm sorry about that Cathy... It's just that ever since you came to me, everything you do amazes me. Every time I'm with you, I just feel the sudden urge to buy everything you want." Grey fidgeted his hands. It is true that Grey likes being with Catherine. He enjoyed being with her. Showing his happy side, the side everyone saw before but never his genuine self.

Catherine felt guilty after what Grey confessed. "Fine, but this is the last time alright." Grey smiled at her and got up. Catherine got confused why he suddenly got up. There a realization that hit her, he wasn't in her class this first period. "Bye Cathy, I need to go, I got a few minutes before classes start. I'll call you later."

"Bye, Grey. I'll see after class. Meet me by the waiting shed." Catherine stopped functioning for a minute. Phone number? She never gave her phone number to him. Before she could ask him, Grey got out of the classroom. Classes started and everything went by as scheduled. Same 'ol same stuff. Discussion, reporting, and long tests.

Even after the horrendous pop test in Trigonometry. She is taking engineering after all. Of course, she is confident. She did well knowing her study habits and she knew all the topics on the tests. The incident on how Grey got her phone number is quite a shock for her.

Heck, she didn't even give her phone number to anyone except for Grace. She didn't really have a lot of friends. She did better with doing it by herself and she stuck to that. 'This leaves to one scenario left. He got to the school records and took out my personal file.' She stopped walking and covered her mouth. 'This confirms it, Grey is a total psycho.'

When Catherine arrived at the waiting shed. She didn't see Grey there. Her phone rung and saw an unknown number, knowing the person might be Grey, she answered.
