8 Fourth Vow: The Unexpected Encounter II

"Hello? This is Catherine."

"It's me Cathy, are you there waiting right now?"

"Yeah, how the heck did you get my number?"

"Oh this..." Grey laughed on the other side of the line. "I'll tell you later, I'll be a little late. Hmmm, 10 minutes give or take. I need to handle some stuff here."

"Fine, be sure to be here after 10 minutes. Bye, Grey."

"Bye Cathy."

As Catherine waited patiently on the bench, she messaged Grace that it's a go-go. At Grey's end, real shit is about to go down. "Sorry Grey, I can't do my part of the presentation. My mom's gonna host this party and we will be busy there. You get me, right?" A girl from his class said. 'This insensitive bitch, how the hell does that qualify as a legit excuse.' A dark remark that is hidden from his stoic face. He will have to take care of that later. Right now, he has Cathy.

He looked at the girl from head to toe before shrugging them all off. He didn't pay attention to the girl. He can't deal with her face. He left the girl with an embarrassed flush on her face as her friends snickered at her.

He raced to the waiting shed and saw Catherine. "Let's go now Cathy!" He grinned. They headed to where his car was parked at got inside. They sat in a comfortable silence. "When are you going to tell me?"

"Shhh, don't be so excited, I'll you when we get to the restaurant."

When they got inside, they saw Grace sitting by the window. She waved to them. "Hi, I'm Grace, Cathy's best friend?" Catherine giggled. "Best friend? Really Grace?" Grace cleared her throat. "Yes Cathy, I'm the best you had. And you know that you're lucky to meet me." Grace laughed at her own comment with Catherine laughing with her. "I'm Grey, I guess let's skip the small talk. I'm seriously pursuing Cathy and I'm sure you'll give your approval, yes?"

Grace stared at him dumbfounded. 'I know this guy is straightforward, but this isn't what I am expecting.' Grace answered in the same tone Grey used. "Yes, I suppose so. The real approval comes from Cathy. I am more of a second opinion. This isn't some kind of bet isn't it?"

Grey looked at her confused. "Bet? No never. I am serious about what I do with Cathy. I don't do baseless bets with others. Men like that are boys, I am, however, is a gentleman with class." Grace scoffed. Catherine is right about him. He really gives off the rich guy vibes.

"Why are you talking like I'm not here?" Catherine joined in the heated conversation. "I need to show off to your best friend after all Cathy. Her opinion affects yours very much knowing her position in your life." Grey gave Catherine a head pat. They ordered food and ate in comfortably. He ordered the best in the menu. "You have a full yes from me Grey. You're a real lucky girl Cathy. Hoes would want a piece of him."

Catherine rolled her eyes while Grey smiled and nodded in agreement. He couldn't agree more. "How'd you get my number Grey? I bet you bribed the secretary." Catherine sarcastically said. "Yes I did. It was very easy." Grace and Catherine paused for a moment.

'You what?!' They thought in unison.

"You amaze me in more levels than one Grey. How much did you pay her?"

"Is that how you think of me Cathy? I'm hurt. Money doesn't always solve everything, even most of the time it does. I didn't pay her. I sweet-talked her to it."

Catherine didn't ask further about the details. Grey's power is too much for her. She just nodded and ate the food. They had small talk to get to know each other more. "Look at the time, it's 8 already?" Grey checked his watch. "Yeah, let's go home now." Grace agreed, she knew Cathy hated being out too long.

Catherine and Grace got out first. Grey had to pay for the food. When Grey got out, he is beyond horrified and angry beyond belief. Another man is hugging Catherine in front of him. 'How dare that bastard!' He unclasped his hands of Catherine and embraced Catherine tightly.

"Don't you ever touch her in front of me again..." Grey said in hostility.
