2 Wishes and desires

The dragon and the prince strolled in the forest making their way to the lake for the prince to wash his clothes.

Zhakhil resisted the temptation of holding the dragon's hand as they walked. He didn't want to make the dragon more uncomfortable with him even though he truly wished that he could hold his hand.

He was comfortable walking side by side with the male. Even though he was being ignored and the dragon wasn't interested in talking, the walk was peaceful.

As always it was just the two of them in the forest. At the beginning, he would ask to go to the lake in the hopes of getting to meet a person and ask for help to be freed from the tower but after so many years. He didn't want to ever see anyone in the woods.

It was his alone time with the dragon and he was not interested in anything that might ruin it. He never even thought of going back home again, his step brother could have his throne for all he cared.

All that he wanted in life he had with him. The peaceful life that he had with only having to worry about his feelings for the dragon, he was not willing to trade for anything in the world.

He was happy and to him, it was all that mattered. His stepmother had no idea but she had given him the best life ever.

"Where is your mind," Xaddrin asked him while holding him to stop him from bumping into the tree that was before him.

Zhakhil came out of his thoughts and noticed that he had been saved by his dragon. It made his skin tingling when the tips of the dragon's fingers touched him.

He swallowed hard. He moved back from the tree and hit his back on the firm chest of the dragon holding him.

"So..sorry," he apologised in a soft almost non-existent voice.

"Watch where you are going and stop daydreaming," Xaddrin advised before letting him go and stepping away from him.

Zhakhil felt empty having his dragon leave him but he didn't let it show on his face. He kept walking quietly happy that even if for a moment, he had been close to the dragon.

"I wish..." he let out not brave enough to finish his sentence. His words were heard by the dragon who could very clearly tell what he wanted to wish for but he pretended to be ignorant and kept walking.

Zhakhil walked behind him till he could hear the water moving. A smile blossomed on his face on seeing the lake before his eyes.

"Are you so excited to wash clothes?" the dragon questioned shaking his head at how weird that was.

It was always the same each time they made a trip to the lake. The boy's face would light up so bright you would think that he had seen candy heaven.

"Cleaning clothes is fun," Zhakhil said to him. The dragon raised his brow at him not sure he got him right. Since when was doing chores fun, he had lived for a long time and never had he come across anyone who loved doing chores as the prince.

He took to his favourite spot under the tree and positioned himself to sleep. Taking a nap by the lake was always refreshing, the sounds of the moving water brought him peace and the birds sang him a lullaby as he slept on.

"Don't wonder off, don't do anything crazy and if you spot anything dangerous wake me up," Xaddrin spoke to him.

He covered his eyes with his hand and drifted off to slumber. Zhakhil dropped his clothes down at the edge of the river and sat on a stone slab to wash the clothes.

One by one he picked up the clothes and washed them, his eyes kept wondering to the handsome dragon napping not to far away from him.

It took all of his self control to keep himself from walking over to the man. He hummed his favourite song that the dragon had taught him to sing as he washed the clothes, the water was so cool in the morning.

The weather was perfect for a picnic but the weekend was so far away. The cold dragon only allowed for picnics on weekends. Under the spell of the witch who happens to be his step mother, Persephone Bloodworth.

The dragon was to watch him and never let him leave the tower and return to the kingdom. They could go out and about hit never far from the tower.

He recalled how hard it was at first to convince the dragon to let him out of the tower to see the world outside. It took approximately two years to convince him and here he was five years later happy with their little arrangement.

Slowly the effect if the spell was weakening and soon, when the dragon is free from the witches control then he might be able to convince him to take him around the world.

But for now he was content with what he had. Until the day that the shadow of his step mother didn't hover over them then, they were stuck in that forest.

"Not sure if you know this but when we first met I was so nervous I couldn't speak," he let out.

He stared in the water feeling down on his one sided love. Unknown to him was the fact that dragon's had super hearing so his words were heard clearly by the dragon.

He had fallen completely asleep. Although most creatures felt his aura from far away and kept their distance. He would never be too careful and leave the weak human unprotected.

So every sound that was made around them, he heard it all. "I wish I could tell you.." the boy went on.

It wasn't the first time that the prince spoke to himself so the dragon was well aware of the brewing feeling in the prince's heart.

He didn't say a word to the boy but he knew what he felt for him since a long while back. It wasn't his place to say anything since the prince was still confused about it.

Zhakhil averted his gaze from the water and stared at him with longing in his eyes for the dragon. The desire to be held in his embrace was so much that he could be explain it.

"To be hold in your embrace," he wished out loud. 'And have you trail that which they call a kiss down my body,' he added in his mind.

The last sentence, even he was not brave enough to utter out loud. The things he read from the book were only for him and his mind to know.

He went on to wash all his clothes and spread them on the ground to dry with the sun coming out. When he was done with the laundry he moved to the tree that the dragon was napping under.

He took a seat on the ground facing the lake. With the corner of his eye he watched Xaddrin sleep feeling like it was his reward for cleaning all the clothes so fast.

He had taken a long time to finish but the prize made it worth it. Now, they just had to wait for the clothes to dry before they took them back home.

The clothes were made from very light fabric that dried quickly. It took close to two hours for the clothes to dry and in the meantime he could stare at the dragon as long as he wanted without him knowing of it.

"Axaran, the clothes will dry in a long time. Take some rest," the dragon instructed to him.

Zhakhil shut his eyes immediately afraid that the dragon had felt him staring and that was why he woke up.

"I'm sorry," he told to Xaddrin.

The dragon went back to ignoring him after that. Zhakhil fell asleep after having his eyes closed for so long. He was uncomfortable in the position he laid in and key turning left and right.

His movement forced Xiddran to open his eyes. He inched closer to the prince and helped him lay in a comfortable position. He placed the prince's head on his lap and let him sleep.

He too leaned his back to the tree and relaxed to get some rest. They both weren't really tired as such. They were just lazy from all the time they spent doing nothing.

It became a habit of their's to fall asleep often and hence they didn't even fight it. Sleep would naturally come to them when they closed their eyes.

The animals of the forest had gotten used to them that they didn't bother with them. The dragon and the prince didn't cause too much trouble in the forest, they went hunting some times when in the mood for meat bit that was it.

The animals couldn't hold that against them since they too hunter each other for food. They coexisted with out problems.
