13 Heart broken

Zhakhil sat by Adran's bed and waited for him to wake up. It was the only thing that he could do. His dragon had left him with the worst parting gift ever.

His heart was broken in to pieces. He himself was in pieces, a part of him wanted to blame Adran for everything that happened.

Ever since the knight walked into his life, he and his dragon had many fight that they did in all his life. His dragon said such harsh things to him only because of what happened at the lake which was also the knight's fault.

But it didn't feel right to put blame on someone who was fighting for his life. He just had to man up and accept what the dragon said.

"I don't want you," he remembered clearly the last thing Xaddrin told him.

He had cried so much that there was no more tears for him to shed. His eyes were red and swollen. It was his first heartbreak and the pitiful part was that he was not even in a relationship to begin with.

He was left alone with feelings that he had no idea how to control. Even after everything the dragon said to him, his heart still beat for the beautiful man.

He tried to persuade his heart to stop loving the dragon since it's what the dragon wanted but in vain. His every heart beat yearned for the male, to see and talk to him. To wake up to a house with him as he had done since as long as he could recall.

To go on walks with the dragon and enjoy a nap with him under the shade of a tree. He bit his tongue in pain. It was night but sleep was the last thing on his mind.

He didn't want to fall asleep. There was no hope that the dragon would be there when he opened his eyes so he didn't want to give it a try. Not to mention, the idea of seeing his handsome face in his dream would only aid to break his heart more than it already was.

"I said I was sorry. So why did you leave?" He let out in a pained voice. The pain was too much for him, it was the first time that he felt so much pain in his entire life.

It felt like something was drilling at his insides. Tearing him apart from his heart to the rest of his body. His question went without a reply. There was no one left that could give him the answers to the questions that troubled his mind.

His dragon was his past and present, he could see a bright future before him only with the male around but now that he had left. His life had become dark, with no destination in mind.

Going back to his kingdom and taking over his father's throne was the last thing on his mind. He was no king and he would only doom Neladia into more darkness if he took the throne.

If he couldnt even keep the man he loved by his side then how was he to keep the trust of his subjects. He was better off just going back to the tower.

There at least, he could have the dragon's memories. He could walk the road they walked on and pretend as though he was still there with him.

Eat at their dinning table and smile at he beautiful memories they had made around the house. He let out a weak smile, the image of his dragon in the kitchen preparing a meal flashed before his eyes.

Truly there was no one more handsome that his dragon. He was fortunate enough to have given his heart out to someone so beautiful. Hus beauty was not just in looks but within him too.

His aloof character, pretending like he didn't care when the prince knew deep down that he did. Always being there for him, watching out for him and helping him when he was in need.

The prince felt lonely, he had not just lost someone he loved, he lost his friend and only companion that he had known and trusted.

And there was no one that could ever fill the void in his heart. No one could ever replace his sweet indifferent dragon.

"I love you, Xaddrin," he whispered and closed his eyes sadly.
