1 Chapter I

"What do you mean?" The woman beside him said. He could hear the anger in her voice slowly rising.

She couldn't accept this as fact. She wouldn't accept this.

"I already told you when we started this that it wouldn't last long." He sat up against the headboard, "I'm only telling you now as a favor. Neither one of us need to be ruined like this."

"But!" She moved on top of him. She traced her fingers on his jaw, the stubble lightly pricking her fingers. "Why can't you just convince your father to marry me? My company is just as successful!"

He sighed and grabbed her by the waist; moving her off of him. "Alec and Co. isn't you company first off. Secondly, Alec and Co. isn't international. E to C is. That's why my father is doing this."

She pouted, glaring at him. She was more than angry. She had finally gotten the man she'd been pining after for years to pay her the time of day and now look!

She huffed and threw the duvet off of her, "Fine! Have fun with that ugly heiress then! She's never been seen in public! All she does is parade around, going from country to country and hide from the press! No one even knows if she's able to inherit the company! Her daddy just appointed her to!"

He sighed, pressing his fingers on his knotted eyebrows, hoping to alíviate the pressure building there. "How many times do I have to say it isn't my choice?"

She stomped her foot, "It is your choice, Beaux! You don't have to marry her! You could say no! You could marry me! Your father would never go against you if you said that you loved me!"

He shook his head, already regretting the conversation, "I don't have time for this." He hurries from under the covers and marched into the bathroom without a second glance at the naked woman glaring at him.

She huffed as she stared at the closed door. She could hear him moving around inside and shortly after cursing his name a few times, the water began to run.

She gave a cold laugh before dressing herself. Her clothes no longer felt as empowering as they did when she put them on this morning. They felt constricting and revealing. The smile that she wore when she had first put them on was now replaced with flushed cheeks and tears threatening to shed.

She took a few deep breaths and headed out of the hotel room.

It wasn't until she got to her car that she started to feel the tears fall.
