1 A Forbidden Child

Sarah had given birth to 4 children, 3 she called her own; the other a monster. The 1st child Andrew had a very powerful yet common Fire attribute. The 2nd Lecila had a very rare attribute known as Liquid Manipulation. The 3rd Amy had a very common Ground Manipulation but excelled at it in which even master mages had a hard time dealing with her. The 4th was nameless. He had a name once, but Sarah took it away once she realized what he was. She hated even the sight of him, the mere talk about him or his prior name, that of which was also his father's, Aaron.

The boy's attribute was incredibly high ability-wise, and his skill with it was absolutely astonishing. His attribute was Overlord. A skill similar to Necromancer, but much more complex. Necromancers, or Dead Walkers as they were called, were able to control a limited amount of dead soldiers for a limited amount of time. These soldiers also could not regenerate, so the ability was a luck of the draw depending on what kind of dead bodies were around him. And Dead Walker's could only equip a few, generally 3 to 5 Inits(What they referred to the Dead Walker's soldiers as) with armour or weapons of their own.

An Overlord though, much more powerful, so much so in fact, that Overlords are to be killed before reaching age 11 at which they can build large armies. Any age before 11 would require almost all of an Overlord's mana to use up to 5 inits for more than a minute. Once they hit 11 though, that all changes. Overlord's full abilities are the strongest of them all. The most powerful of all the forbidden magics.

Overlord's magic can not only revive the dead but make them self-aware. He can control armies of over 100 thousand. Not only that, but he can arm all of them with weapons he desires. Not hard steel, stone, or iron weapons; but DMWs (Dark Magic Weapons, the most expensive, powerful, and rarest weapons next to Dragon Scale Weapons) and DMA(Dark Magic Armour). The most powerful trait of all though is the ability to constantly reanimate them. If they were broken apart before adding them to the army or during a battle along the Overlord's side, it will regenerate after 5 to 10 minutes. And alongside the ability to rebuild them is the ability to store them in a shadow realm unto which only that Overlord is allowed to enter.

The unnamed child was turning 8 that day, and this is the time unto which they can be killed. Any time before that could lead to a catastrophic explosion. During the young childhood of Overlords, they have much mana but don't have the ability to control it. At age 8 however, their abilities become more honed, not to the point where they can wield it but stop from storing it inside. Evidence might seem that it's not adding up, but to control the dead at such a young age takes thousands of mana.

The mother was overjoyed today, she could get rid of the child, she had been screaming at the poor child for 2 years now that he only had so much time left. The day prior even she had laughed maniacally over the impending doom of her son. She had sent a letter a few days before so that the guard could come to kill the child. She was excited and ready to watch as this thing that gave her so much negative attention was finally going to be slaughtered. She didn't care what they did to him, be it the Guillotine, burned by the stake, beaten with stones, whipped. Nothing would suffice more than anything to her to see the child suffer. Not that she hadn't made the child suffer enough over the 5 years since she found out. She beat him, burned him with candles, and even used her ice magic to freeze his body, but not to the point of killing him, no. She knew what would happen, but not only that, she had a reputation to uphold after he was gone.

She was too cocky and arrogant to kill him herself and risk everything to go away. Not ONCE did she think about dying alongside this child. She cast him aside and gave him little to eat, and rarely let him wear good clothes. Not even a sibling gave him any. Andrew was cold and stubborn like his mother, Lecila bullied him because of how she was treated at her academy for her affiliation with an Overlord child, and Amy was close to deaf. She couldn't hear well but could tell facial expressions. And any time she got close to her unnamed brother, she would have beat her but with a small spoon and shouted at her with a twisted face with malice and hatred enough to make a Tier 3 Dire Wolf lose all confidence. Amy soon stopped out of fear, but still cared about him since she wasn't entirely aware of the situation and always assumed he had just been a mischievous child.

Amy was sitting when she saw her mother walking out of the house, Amy stood up and followed her out. Down a long gravel road, 4 guards and 2 executioners raced on a medium horse-drawn carriage with no roof or walls. Just 7 seats, six for them, and one upfront for the coachman. Once they arrived, they set up a tall and long guillotine. The mother Grimmanced until she realized there were 5 head slots and not just one. She spun around to run but a guard snatched her by the hair and drug her to the guillotine and forcefully put her head and wrists into the hole before latching it shut.

"Why, me too! It's the brat who is the monster, not me!" She screamed. The guard smacked her in the face before lifting it up, as the hardwood planks dug into her skin. "If the mother gave birth to an Overlord, then you might also have Overlord traits. Got that you stupid bitch, and that goes along with all the other children too." the guard snapped and threw her head down, coming close to crushing her windpipe.

"Grab the kids!" one of the guards shouted. Amy who had been watching from the side of the house went to grab the 3 of her other siblings. Andrew didn't care for what she had come for and made her go away so he could continue to play with his fire magic. Lecila shoved her down and spat on her because she was ashamed of how she was practically deaf. Finally, she reluctantly went to the nameless child. When she entered his room, a small room with only enough room for a bed and a small bucket for his clothes, the nameless child snapped his neck towards her with adrenaline-fueled fear. *I came to get you.* She had signed. It was the main way she communicated, she could hear almost nothing and had to learn a signing language for her.

*Is it mom?* The nameless child signed back. Amy nodded and the nameless child slowly stood up. *Another beating?* he signed. Amy shook her head no. *Food?* Again she shook her head no. *She is on a large pedestal with many large men, there is also a big blade above her head.* She signed. The unnamed child took a second to think. *Do you want to run away with me?* He signed. She stood there momentarily before shaking her head. *I just want to know what's happening* She signed back. *They are going to kill mom* The nameless child signed back. Amy's face went white.

*Amy, now is our chance to run.* He signed with a twisted face in relief. *We got to run Amy, you, and me.* He signed before grabbing her arms. She shook him off and looked at him in horror and confusion. She shed a tear as she backed away. As he kept getting closer, she kept backing off. After a few seconds, she bumped into something and the nameless child's face went to pure horror. The guard behind Amy grabbed her by the back of the throat and picked her up. "Amy!" The unnamed child shouted. The guard smirked as he threw her against a wall as hard as he could killing her immediately. The unnamed child ran to his dead sister and wailed. "Your next demon child." The guard laughed heartily and sinisterly. As the guard entered went to grab the unnamed child, grabbed his dead sister, and dashed between his legs.

Considering that he was carrying the dead weight of another child behind him was a struggle. The guard turned around and puffed furiously. "You really think you're gonna escape!" he shouted. This shout not only made the unnamed child piss himself for the 3rd time that day but also pissed off his brother. Andrew waltzed out of his room and stared at the guard. "I'm practicing magic, you stupid oaf! The nerve of you uneducated fol-" His words were cut off as the guard slammed him against the floor. Andrew instantly summoned a small fireball and struck the guard in the side. This sent off a magic duel between the 2 of them sending fire and small rocks everywhere. Finally after a few seconds, with the nameless child getting a grip on his dead sister and moving faster, he heard the sound of someone choking behind him followed by a heavy laugh. The Guard had won and behind he heard the sound of flesh getting pounded. Probably kicked if he had to guess.

With the nameless child understanding the situation of life or death now, he did the one last thing before running out. He ran into Lecila's room and tugged her hair. Lecila whined and chased the nameless child out of her room paying no mind to the dead child that was her younger sister being carried by him. As soon as he stepped out, she heard the laughter behind her. As she spun around and saw what was happening to her dead brother, she exploded in fury and rage and began hurling spells to stop the guard. The other guards had caught wind by now and entered the house to deal with the children and their magic. And with them as decoys, the nameless child and his dead sister were lost in the woods behind their house, and the rest of the family was killed in cold blood.
