"She's right Evren. Bastard son or not, everyone is invited to my ball." I turned to look at Dalton to avoid the way Evren stared at her seductively now. I had no idea if that's the way he stares, but I only want him to look at me that way and no one else.

"I have a lot to do that day." Evren said.

"That is no excuse to attend your step brothers engagement ball."

Dalton looked back at me and smiled as he suddenly pressed his lips on mine without warning. My eyes turned wide.

"Duty and pleasure."

"Is that what you and Adara calls it?" He asked with a laugh that felt like a curse.

"You too look so intimately in love over there." His cold gaze met mine and I could feel the underlined death threat in them. I shivered at his stare.

"We make the perfect couple don't we. Just like you and Gina would." Dalton smiled.
