Chris finished work and drove straight to Sky’s. He already knew Aiyana was there since morning and he was relieved to hear that. He did not want Sky to be left alone any longer. He was not sure what Sky would do. Tessa always brought out the worst in him, even before she broke him.

Chris remembered how mean and proud he was when with her. She would whisper things in ear and he would act like a prick. She had a way of twisting him that way. She manipulated him in ways he did not understand. And Chris hated that.

And now she was back. If not in his life she showed her face again last night. He had seen the devastation and anger in his eyes. Sky had made progress since Sierra became pregnant. It had been six years since he saw this look and last night when Sky saw Tessa again it was like his life after her had never happened. He was back to square one. Like he had stopped to breathe until she was back and when she was she sent him down the path of self-destruction.
