The Football System

A FEW DAYS ago, I suddenly obtained a system out of the blue. Though I was shocked, I was more excited. As a light novel reader, it was my lifelong fantasy to obtain a system and become rich. But when I learnt that it was a football system, I was dumbfounded.

The reason was simple. I'm Parv Naik, an ordinary student of eleventh grade. I am currently fifteen and would soon turn sixteen on 8th of August this year, which was 2021. I live in a small town named Kachholi located in the south of Gujarat, India.

What I meant to say was that my life was ordinary. I got good grades. I was not ugly, in fact, a bit good looking. I did not have any strange disease or habits. The only downside about me was that I lacked the motivation and determination to do something.

Among the many sports played in India, the one that I liked and enjoyed playing was, without a doubt, cricket. Except that, volleyball was also a sport that piqued my interest due to a certain anime but I never got to play it even once because most of my friends preferred cricket.

Though we played football sometimes but it was without a proper field and kits. So definitely, cricket was more fun.

But there was nothing I could do now that I have obtained a football system. Maybe I would start enjoying myself if I got to play some real football.

{A few days ago}

"WTF! Why is it a football system?" I muttered to myself as I looked at the blue screen in front of my eyes that read [The Football System]. But I managed to get over this unfortunately fortunate phenomenon that was happening to me since it was better than nothing. Then I did the most obvious thing. I tried to communicate with the system. "What can you do system?"

I felt some embarrassment at that question as it sounded more like a threat than a genuine question. But the system still replied to me by transforming the text on the blue screen to another set of texts.

[This system will help the host in becoming the best, the greatest and the richest footballer to ever exist in the entire universe.]

The first thought that came to my mind was that the system was quite good at boasting. But then my attention was caught by the end part as I felt that there might be something wrong.

Entire universe? Shouldn't it be entire world? I thought to myself and then I asked the system what did it meant by the entire universe. And its reply shocked me to my core.

[Host, do you think that there are only humans from earth in this entire universe?]

What!? Before my shock could reside somewhat, the text changed once again.

[Did you know that there is a football team formed by the best players of earth? And the team is named Earth United. Also, this is not just limited to football, but it also the same for other major sports. Just think about it, host. What would they need such a team? Is it to increase their reputation or earn money? If so, why do normal people have no clue about it?]

Shit! This is just too crazy! My mind went blank and my body trembled. Just the thought of this being true gave me goosebumps, but I did not dare to oppose the system as its existence in itself is a mind blowing phenomenon.
