Interview

At the end of training the team all head to the locker room to shower , Michael Jacobs approach him on the way in Elijah remember him cause he is also a young player

"Hi am Jacobs "

"Am shields" he give him the I remember your name look

"If you need anything you can ask me"

Jacobs as been in the team for years even though he is just 20 he was born in Rothwell, Northamptonshire, and has played for the youth team till 2009, he has been on the first team for 2 years and looks to be a starter for the upcoming season.

Elijah replied "Thanks" with a grateful expression

"Do you want to go out this Friday should be fun some of the boys are coming to we could make it a welcome party?"

Elijah considers it for a moment he doesn't have anything to do at home should be a nice idea he

"Am not sure yet I will get your number so I can call to see if I will make it"

"okay take care"

'He seems like a nice guy' Elijah thought

 He was heading home when he heard someone shouting

"Shields!" he turns back to see Ian gesturing to stop, he starts walking back to him he tells Elijah

"You should go back you have an interview with the paper for your singing"

"Oh I didn't know that, lets go"

They start moving to the room for the interview inside the room the manager is already waiting with another man he is bald with a recorder in his hands he introduces himself as Gary Shaw they shake Elijah sat next to the manager Gary start by asking

"Why did you choose Northampton with your youth record you could have gone to a division one or minor league first team?"

Elijah take a deep breath and answer " I believe the team can give me a chance to play and develop in the right direction with the right amount of pressure and time"

he seemed satisfied with the answer

"Next question do you think you deser

ved to play in Mexico for the U-17?"

He look at him with a do you hate me look

"I don't know if I deserved too only the manager can determine that but I wanted to play"  he smiles with a you cant catch me smile

"What are your expectations for the team this season?"

"I hope we can finish in the top half of the table"

"Finally what are your thoughts on your new manager"

Elijah look to the left to see my manager like he is looking forward to my answer he turns back to Gary and says

"I like him"

Gary looks surprised at that short answer but the manager smiles knowingly

"You can excuse yourself I will continue"  Elijah says his farewell and leave.

 Back home he saw the Northampton website announcement alongside the picture of himself holding the jersey "We have signed Elijah Shields former U-17 England striker on a 2 year deal" along with a news article from the interview saying he likes the team he skips to the manger part and he talks about how he is a player with ability to help the team achieve its goals.

He Felt nice to hear, he calls Jacobs and he give him the address of the pub.
