1 Prologue: Alecs Secret- Windy Steps

Alec lived a full life, but when he died he was very bitter and angry. All his life he was considered weak, even in his older years as a mage he was easily passed by the young, Not to mention his kids despised him for being so weak. But Alec had something that is highly sought after in the world of magic "Knowledge!" In Alecs whole life he would always be studying, in fact he was known to be smart but that is very far from the truth.

The truth is he isn't smart or a genius, it's more like studying is all he had he would study everyday with out taking a break for days at a time. Just hoping he could make a breakthrough one day. Because of this he was always bullied by others and even looked down upon even by his own children, not to mention his wife who only married him because of his last name Rosario.

In Alecs older days around his mid 50s he started to become know as the "Fool of Knowledge." Fool because even though he is weak he still studied books he could never use. Knowledge because he could tell you everything about any book he has ever read, even secrets left behind by the creator. Alec discovered this while reading about a book called Windy Steps which is a spell that increases the users movements speed, but it is one of the worst movement spells you could get earlier on. Alec thought nothing of this at the time and wrote it off. In Alec 40s he started to discover more of these secrets and decided to test these secrets out on his youngest son who at the time loved him.

Alec told his son to use a spell called Windy Steps he also told him to train his body physically which is strange for a mage. But his son trusted his father and did as he was told after a few months of training he was at a silver knights level which is one level under a knight, which is the weakest level of a knight. Alec now meeting with his son in front of their manor told his son to use Windy Steps and run around their whole city and be back within one minute. His son spoke up and said that's impossible. But he still minded his father and started running while activating Windy Steps 20 minutes later his son was back with sweat all over him. Looking up to his dad with a angry face and said "what the heck dad I told you it was impossible!" Alec could see his son getting angrier by the second, so Alec told his son in great detail about the secret in the book windy steps. "I told you to work out your body because Windy Steps has a hidden feature that allows the speed of the spell to increase based on the physical conditioning of the body. After this explanation his son felt something different happen to his body he felt a surge of power like he just finished bonding with a magical spell to learn it. He looked at his Alec and said he would like to try again Alec was slightly puzzled but said "okay be back within 1 min." As soon as he took of the time started, Alecs son activated Windy Steps and it felt different his speed was insane. This was definitely not the same spell as last time. 20 seconds went by and Alec son appeared in front of him.

Alec slightly shocked by the speed of the of his son he couldn't believe a spell that only boosts ones speed by 5 percent could be this fast. Alecs son also shocked asked his dad how this was possible. Alec told his son that when he was reading windy steps his discovered that the creator was a weak knight that had good magic power, but he wanted to be a knight his whole life so he created this spell to help him become strong but hid the fact that the spell could be upgraded. After Alecs explanation his son asked why it didn't work the first time. Alec thought about it and recalled after telling his son the secret his speed changed drastically so quickly putting the pieces together he told his son there are two requirements you have to meet. First, one must know of the secret. Second, one must meet the requirements of the secret.

That day was Alecs best and worst say of his life. What Alec thought was a harmless spell to test would eventually back fire on him. Alecs youngest would try to gain more of these secrets to become stronger but Alec would not allow it. Slowly Alecs youngest started to become cold towards him, a few years passed and Alecs youngest passed him in magical power and exposed his greatest secret by showing the power of Windy Steps and telling others of it and them gaining the hidden power to. Now mages come from all over the world to make Alec tell them the secrets if he refused he would get beaten. That's the day when Alec saw that power was everything in this world and he lacked that power and all his studying just to blow up in his face and cause his greatest hope to become his greatest pain.

Alec lets out a long sigh as he lays in bed reviewing all his failures. Even as Alec is dying no one is around not his wife or his kids. "Pathetic I cant die like this." Alec saying bitterly. Followed by his last word which were filled with hate and anger. If I ever have a second chance I will not make the same mistake again! I will not be weak, I will stand on the top of this world and shake its core!! And I will make everyone who looked down on me pay a thousand times over!!!" If anyone saw Alecs eyes they would not believe that they were seeing a man who was letting out his last breath, because his eyes were filled with so much light. Seconds passed and silence followed soon behind as Alec has now passed.
