Pacing around the room until morning, I patiently waited for shift change. I Listened to the clock ticking loudly for hours on the wall, and to the beeping of the monitors. Not one nurse came into my room all night long. When the sun started to come up the world outside began to take colour and shine with morning dew drops.

Shift change finally had arrived, and day shift had officially clocked in. About an hour later when all the paperwork was sorted, a nurse came in with a small tray of food for me. She giggled and asked, "Are you hungry, Rose"? I smiled and before I could say anything my stomach growled quite loud. My cheeks flushed pink, and I thanked her so much. Toast and processed cafeteria scrambled eggs. They never really tasted like real eggs, but I was so hungry I didn't even think about it. "nurse", I said softly. She replied, "yes? What is it miss Rose"? I choked on the scrambled eggs, started coughing. Flustered I ask, "Did the results come back"? "Yes, miss Rose. They did come back. Let me go talk to the doctor about it, and I will be right back", she tried to say in a very non-emotional way.

One dreadfully long hour later, the doctor came into the room. He seemed nervous, and began checking the charts, but he began talking any way. He said, "I don't know how to tell you this but, you seem to have a rare form of epilepsy. It seems to affect the left and right hemisphere of your brain. It means you'll have some future memory problems, and a variety of seizures".

I kind of giggled a little. So he looked at me taken aback. I told him, "I was diagnosed when I was five". He said, "for some reason it's not showing up in your medical history". He started to look a lot more concerned, but there is always something else. "It seems you are suffering from PTSD, and have an acute heart murmur. You show great signs of instinctual reflexes . Do you know whom or what happened to caused it"?, he said. "I don't remember", I told him. The truth is, I feel like I know how bad this sounds.
