26 Sibling Rivalry

One of the most anticipated matches has finally arrived. Everyone in the arena was chattering about this match. Expectations were through the roof for the two. One was like a Sanctuary whereas the other was the Upcoming Danger.

Lara came out along with her sister from the different entrances, facing each other once they reached their starting point.

"Sister, only one can win this time. Let's do our best shall we?" Lara gave a nod and they both took their stances. The signal went off again, allowing them to start. Lara casted a spell which turned her into thin air, allowing her to hide in the darkness.

"Army of the Heavens, come out." Wings sprouted out from Layla's back, making it a stunning sight. A gate decorated with white pillars came out. The gates opened and it allowed the small army to pass through. An echoed voice was heard throughout the battlefield. All it said was:

"Cerberus, wolf them all." A black magic circle appeared on the ground, and appearing in it was the Cerberus. The monster let out a ferocious growl before making its way to the army.

The Army's formation was torn into pieces by this. Lara managed to sneak behind Layla and almost in an assassination attempt, almost stabbed the dagger into her.

Layla's wings immediately deflected it and she turned around. She held Lara's hands and said.

"For every amount of light, there is an equal amount of darkness. But if one outshines the other, the other one would completely cease to exist." From my spot, Lara seems to have nodded and let Layla hit her.

Layla summoned a spear of light and used it towards Lara. It won't kill her, but it'll be just enough for Layla to pass the round.

The round of siblings ended with Layla winning. I sighed and went out, looking for Soci.

"Lily!! Let us do a mock battle!" Soci threw herself onto my back, surprising me. I let out a few fake coughs as if she was really heavy.

"Soci, you're heavy get off."

"Noooooo, I missed Lily's piggyback!" I let out another sigh and carried her to an empty field before placing her down. I went to the opposite side, getting ready for the mock battle she wanted.

"I am not going to lose Lily!" She got ready by doing her stance. Her aura turned graceful as I felt like a swan just emerged.

"I do not plan to lose either Soci." I smirked and got ready too. We both counted down in our heads before making the first move.

"Leaf Storm!" Soci yelled as she gracefully did her spell. The barrage of leaves headed straight for me and I withstood it, getting a few wounds.

"Not bad Soci. You have improved." Her playful smile was turned towards me.

"It is because Sister Lily taught me best! Earth cage!" Roots quickly shot up, trapping me in a cage. There were no loopholes in her spell. I heard a muffled 'Earth knife' before sharp roots begun to pierce through the cage, giving me more wounds.

"Showtime is over Soci. Equipment magic Dagger." Magic dust surrounded my hand and out came a dagger. Using the dagger, I sliced through the roots, making dozens of holes.

"Fire sparks." Sparks appeared out of my wand, burning the roots. The roots eventually burned out, leaving them in the form of ashes. I took a deep breath, glad for the oxygen entering my lungs.

"I knew Sister Lily would be able to break through. But do think, Earth is everywhere. Earth hands." Roots once again came up and held my limbs tightly. Soci walked over to me and sat down.

"Soci what are you trying to do?"

"Wait till Sister Lily gives up!"

"Sorry but I'll give up on the chance to pass up this time." I gathered my magic around my wrists and ankles, effectively burning off the roots. Taking out a small dagger from my thigh band, I ran towards the woods.

Circling around Soci, I could sense her alertness. This was something she was always well-known for, always being on guard despite being in a safe enviroment. I casted an invisibility spell on me, before I ran out of the woods and aimed for her back. The hit was made and the match had ended.

"Awww... I thought I could beat Sister Lily this time!"

"Too early for that Soci. We have to go to the arena soon, our matches are starting." We rushed towards the arena to be met with an overwhelming roar. Raymond had single-handedly defeated a strong opponent. Not even a single scratch was on him.

I pushed that to the side and went into the changing room with Soci. We managed to change into our battle armor in time before someone came in to get the next contestants out.

"Autumn and Yiel. It's your turn." Soci and I both stood up and we looked at each other. We gave each other a smile that only said "Good luck and all the best."

When we appeared in front of the crowd, the loud cheers turned silent as we stared at each other. The only sound we heard was the starting gun. When we fought each other with our spells, it felt like it was dancing.

No malicious intent was sensed, it was all fun and joy as we 'danced' around the arena, slowly weakening the other. I could feel the smile from Soci's face even though she's covered with her armor.

"Feast of Flowers!" was heard throughout the arena. I was then brought back with memories of our childhood. The first spell we did together, our very first spell that we managed to master. I let out another smile and said the spell, corresponding to hers.

"Sparks of fire!" I chanted as a glass ball started to form in my hand. Inside the glass ball grew small white flames with black swirls. I let out another genuine smile and threw the glass ball upwards, towards the blooming flowers in the sky.

What greeted everyone's eyes was a spectacular sight. Colourful flower petals scattered the sky and bright fireworks were given. It was a spectacular sight to see. But eventually, our match had to end.

"Equipment magic dagger. Heed my call." Magic dust floated around my hand before materialising into a dagger. The dagger was formed with that magic in mind. It lit on fire and I went ahead to attack.

It still looked as if we're dancing but we're just having fun. I was hitting Soci's armor more often than just now, making the critical hits. I hit Soci for the final hit on her chest and she fell backwards. Even though she was defeated, she still smiled.

"That makes 340-0! I'll beat you next time!" The crowd then roared with excitement to such a beautiful battle they've seen in a while. We went back into the preparation rooms to retire for the day. Though, I was facing another opponent tomorrow and I have to see Layla's and Raymond's match.

Soci hooked her arm around my neck and we both shared the small laughter that bloomed between us sisters.
