12 Preparations
"Women should have the right to make an opinion and should have the freedom of expression. It is 21 century but still, in many countries, women are being treated as objects and don't have any privileges and rights. We all should work together to make a difference and can able to change something. Women empowerment is to encourage women to participate in activities like stating opinions making decisions for themselves and being independent. women is not an object but a human being too and should treat equally and gave opportunities equally". I ended my speech on my topic about women empowerment and feminism. I didn't think that I will get applauded because of my speech but now hearing the applause makes me think that I can do anything if I wanted to. I can change myself according to myself.
I get back to my place and took out my paper in which I wrote about the topic. Yeah at first I am nervous and can't able to walk to the front but I repeated the words in my head that I can do this and this is my first chance to prove myself and can increase my self-esteem. I repeated these words in my head until I got the courage to talk and when I started talking I forget everything my nervousness, my fear of people, my awkwardness, and everything which held me back and this incident gave me strength and much-needed affirmation that I can become a good writer and an editor and can achieve much more in my life.it may be a small victory but it's a start for something big.
After the class, I went to the apartment. in the morning zay told me that she wanted to tell me something when I return from the uni. I unlocked the door of the apartment and entered. " hey guys" said removing my shoes and placing them on the rack.
" hey scar, how did your test went? Zay asked. she is sitting on the couch eating chips while Lilly is in the kitchen preparing lunch.
" How did it went? Did you rock it?" Lilly asked coming from the kitchen drying her hands on the apron.
" Yeah, it went well. First I got nervous and because of the nervousness I am unable to move from my place for two minutes but luckily I moved from my place and completed the speech without stuttering and thank God for it" I said sitting on the couch.
" I know scar you are gonna rock it and I am so proud of you," Lilly said hugging me and going back to the kitchen.
" I knew it too scar that you are going to rock it and I am proud of you too" zay said hugging me too.
" thank you guys it means a lot," I said getting up from the couch and going to my room. " I am going to change and get ready for lunch," I said entering my room
We had lunch and currently, we are watching Zay's one of the cheesy movies. Suddenly, I remembered that zay wanted to tell me something after I came back from the uni. " you said you wanted to tell me something" I asked zay while taking popcorn from the bowl and stuffing it in my mouth.
" yeah about that. I and Lilly talked and decided to have a small get-together in our apartment with you, me, and unfortunately blondie I mean Elijah and omer and I wanted to know your decision too" she said somewhat hesitatingly. I know why she is hesitating while asking me about get together because of the omer. She tried to become a matchmaker and set omer and me up but it failed because omer is not picking her calls or replying to her texts and now she planned this get-together to try her matchmaking skills again.
" omer? He is not in our group then why is he getting the invitation to our get together" I asked her innocently.
" ohhh it's just I want to spend some time with my brother and this party is the better place for us siblings to catch up on," she said laughing nervously. Zay is very bad at lying anyone can catch her lying that bad of a liar is she.
" what will happen if omer joins our scar. Zay and omer met after a long time and this get-together helps them to catch up about their lives" Lilly said covering up Zay's lie.
" okay, I don't have any complaint about omer joining us I just asked, " I said while changing the movie.
"um okay if is it okay for you then we will go grocery shopping," Lilly said getting up from the couch and going to her room.
" what! Now?" I asked surprised.
" yes now we don't have much time to prepare and we will forget everything if we will go tomorrow so we have to go now only go get up and get changed, " Lilly said disappearing in go her room.
" I think she is right we have to shop today only. I am going to get changed" zay said disappearing into her room too.
" I guess I am the only one who left behind " I murmured and got up to get changed.

Eli and I are in the soft drinks department arguing about sprite and Fanta. Lilly and zay are somewhere in the store. It's been two hours being in the store getting everything for tomorrow's get together we had everything needed for the party. The list which we got the items are in my and Eli's cart but we just have to take soft drinks but we are unable to decide which one tastes good and we are arguing for the last ten minutes on this topic.
" seriously scar you have a bad taste. Fanta is too sweet and it is for kids and we are not kids anymore and the sprite is for adults means us, we are adults" Eli said pointing towards the sprite and putting it in the cart.
" no Eli there is nothing like for kids and grown-ups, Fanta is for everyone, and no it's not that sweet and the sprite is just sparkling water with a small bit of sweetness that's it but Fanta it has flavor to it and we are taking Fanta and that's final," I said removing sprite from the cart and putting wants into my cart.
" oh my God scar why are you arguing on this" Eli said dramatically rolling his eyes and raising his hands in the air.
" you are arguing Eli I am not," I said glaring at him.
" will you guys keep it down, we can hear you from the last aisle, and you guys are being too loud and arguing like a married couple," Lilly said making her way towards us and behind her is zay.
" it's his fault he is the one who is arguing and he started it," I said sticking my tongue out at eli.
" blame all you want but everyone knows that sprite is better than Fanta," Eli said mimicking me sticking his tongue out too.
" enough guys I am tired and I just want to go home and you guys can take sprite and Fanta and it's not a big deal you know," zay said yawning and looking at us boringly.
" yes, guys zay is right take half of each. See problem solve and no need for argument" Lilly said going to the counter for billing.
" Why don't I thought about it first," Eli said scratching his head.
" because you are dumb blondie" zay said moving her cart forward and bumping her shoulder into Eli.
" Hey Red I am not dumb okay. It just doesn't stress my brain much" Eli said following zay.
Ugh, they started their bickering again and they won't stop till they get a new topic to bicker.
We took our bags and exits the store. We came to the. Store in Eli's truck black beast which he likes to call it. We loaded our grocery bags in the back and Eli started the truck.
After coming from the store we drank coffee for the energy to clean the apartment. We shared the chores between us four. Living room and groceries Lilly and me. Back patio zay and Eli. I know they are gonna argue a lot and work less that's why we have them on the back patio.
It took one hour for the living room to get cleaned and all the groceries went to their respective places. Lilly and I are currently relaxing on the couch after the shopping spree and cleaning up everything and listening to the banter between and Eli and zay. They are now on to the topic of lighting. Which color of light bulbs are going to look good in the night and they are fighting between red and blue lights.
" you are choosing a red color because you have red hair and it is not going to look good and it looks like some shady party with red lights" I heard Eli saying this.
" blue is also not a good color for the party you know and the party is going to look like an ambulance" zay said.
" I think we have to stop them before they strangle each other " Lilly said getting up from the couch and going to the back patio.
" Yeah I don't want to see that," I said laughing and getting up.
I am nervously waiting for tomorrow. I don't know what will happen when omer comes and how will he act. Is he gonna be silent like when we are in that cafe or is he gonna start a conversation. Whatever it maybe I am not the one who will start the conversation.
I hope everything goes right and the get together will be successful and we can enjoy ourselves talking and laughing with each other. hope for the best.
