2 The Truth

Yi still loathing herself for her stupidity was suddenly slammed forward as the train made a quick stop. Upon stopping four men strangely dressed with bright makeup and dark skin took seats across from Yi and lowered their heads. Yi had never heard of such people even in all the texts of her Grandfathers great Library! With a touch of fear and even more intrigued curiosity Yi studied them carefully. With floor length robes of what looked to be the softest silk covered with swooping lines from chest to foot. Yi noticed strange but familiar symbols hanging from each of their necks. Yi's eyes filled with tears as she recognized the symbols that had hung from the walls of her mother's chambers, sealed by the Old Master after her Mother's passing and gifted to Ning once she had became of age. These men are monks of the Ning Kingdom! Could she ask them for help? Yi tried hard to get their attention by waving her foot, she dared not speak least the guard might hear! The Monk closest to the window raised his head silently and gave Yi a look of disgust... Yi slowly dropped her head back down and let the tears fall, no one here was going to help her and she foolishly believed they might. The truth of her hopeless situation finally set in and Yi cried until she passed out.
