23 XXII. The Warning

Magnus was looking at the ceiling after he was exhausting himself with Casey as she was eager to show him that she will only love him for the rest of her life. Magnus was grateful for that but something nagged him in the head.

I need to find out what happened to me exactly after I died, he thought before he turned to look at his sleeping wife. Casey was breathing normally with her naked body entangled with him under the sheets.

Magnus kissed her temples before he slid off from the bed and put on the night robe. Then, he slid away from the cozy bedroom that he shared with Casey to make his way to the library again. But Magnus was surprised to see someone outside his room, waiting for him.

"So, you're Magnus Flemington that was rumored to be on his death bed," Chad, the crown prince of Caga; apparently the country's name was Caga, was eyeing Magnus up and down. He narrowed his eyes at Magnus before he pushed himself away from the wall that the prince was leaning.

"I have to give you a warning then. If you ever made my sister unhappy, even for a second in her life, you will be answering to me, Lord Flemington. And you can expect that I will do my best to torture you, in court and outside of it," Chad said as he was pointing his forefinger at Magnus' chest.

Magnus did not know what to expect but he knew that Chad meant business. And so, he has to let loose his snappy comment at the crown prince as well.

"Don't worry," he said before he smirked, "I will never take my eyes of Casey. Even when you're not around to skin me alive, I will never look at any other woman besides my wife," he said before Chad was blinking his eyes at him. Then, he nodded.

"You better or else," he said before the brooding crown prince slipped away under the shadows. How does he do that? Magnus thought before he made his way to the library.

*****

The library located on the east wing of the castle in Red Cast. Magnus never thought that he would be spending so much time in the library to get something out of it. But of course, being a scholar back when he was in London, the urge to find something was making him eager to spend some time alone there.

Magnus looked around as the lights were not lit. He carried a candle before setting it on the table that he occupied earlier when Casey was planning to make sure that the Tempest Ball will be the best of the best in the century.

It was because Magnus had never been to one before and also she was planning to matchmake her brother, the crown prince, as well.

Magnus shook his head while a smile was plastered to his mouth. His wife can be a handful but for once, he was glad that he was not the one that will be the receiving end of her eagerness. Magnus browsed the shelves after shelves while he was trying to find a tome on magic.

If there was such thing as that.

He sighed when he was reaching the end of the bookshelves and not a single tome was specified in magic, much to his disdain. Casey said that Caga has believed in magic once as well as the countries that surrounded it. But of course, when Magnus wanted it, not a single thing on Magic appeared.

Maybe it was just my bad luck with it, he thought before he sensed that he was being watched. Magnus turned to see that his wife was leaning against the doorframe as the candle was shining on her pale complexion, leaving the honey-colored skin on her.

"What are you doing here up so late?" she asked Magnus before Casey was moving toward him. He sighed before he was rubbing his face with his hands.

"I don't know. Perhaps, I just wanted to...check if there was something about the transfer of souls or something," Magnus said before she was standing in front of him. Casey was draped in her night robe as well but he can see the nightgown that she wore to seduce him to bed earlier.

"Come to bed. I'm lonely without you in it," she said before Casey was caressing his chest. Magnus felt the sensation of pleasure from her touch alone and right now, he wanted to throw his wife on the table and ravish her.

Woah! Calm down, Flemington. What is wrong with you? This is your wife, not your sexual object, he frowned when such thought could ever come up in his mind.

"What's wrong?" Casey said before Magnus was focusing on her. She was caressing her hand above his heart and it was beating fast. I could get used to this life. I don't have to think about anything else.

Just Casey and me, against the world.

Magnus sighed before he was leaning his forehead against Casey. She was looking at him as he was closing his eyes, trying to make sense of his new fate now.

"I want you tonight," Casey whispered before Magnus smirked. He opened his eyes before he was looking at her grey orbs. It was like looking at the eye of the storm.

"You already had me earlier," he teased before Casey pouted her lips.

"That's hours ago. I want you now, my love," she whispered before wounding her hands behind his nape and pulled him closer to her lips. Magnus had never kissed anyone but Casey. However, with each experience, it was different from one another.

And right now, Casey was kissing him passionately as if he would disappear from him.

Magnus groaned before he was gripping her waist tightly. She was pushing him against the bookshelves before she was kissing his jaws and neck.

"Magnus," she moaned as he was pushing her night robe so that he could caress her smooth thighs against his calloused hands. It was heaven as Casey was throwing her head back.

"Make love to me, now," she whispered before Magnus was hooking his hands under the thighs and put his wife on the table. The candle was illuminating her feature before Magnus was pushing the night robe and gaining her nightgown in his hands before spreading her naked on the table for his feast.

"You will be the death of me," Magnus said before she laughed. And that laughter lighted up his chest.

"And you will be my undoing," Casey said before she was pulling Magnus on top of her. Her limb fingers were removing his sash before Magnus was left with his breeches. Then, Casey slid the breeches down his thighs before his tip was touching dangerously at her entrance.

"Ah," she moaned before Magnus slammed home and they both groaned at the contact. She was wet, warmth and moisture that he never knew he would need in his life. Magnus pumped in and out of her core before Casey was gripping his shoulders, biting his jaws to show him that she was enjoying their joining.

Magnus increased the speed and thrust faster, further, and stronger into her. Casey was panting and gasping before he can sense that she was close to her final destination as well as he was.

"Come for me, Casey. Come with me to heaven," he whispered before Casey was gripping his hair in her hands and pulled him closer, kissing him passionately on the lips.

One. Two. Three thrusts and they became undone.

Magnus spewed his hot load into Casey's core before she was moaning his name on her lips like a prayer that she will never forget. They were breathing hard, panting and trying to calm down the storm that was coming over their bodies. Then, Casey was smiling at him.

"Now, can we go to bed? I would like to explore with you, my love," Casey said before Magnus laughed as he hauled her into his arms and carried her all the way to their bed chambers.

"Just for the record, you are ruining me to focus in that library," Magnus said before Casey was kissing him as he closed the door with his foot and their chambers were filled with sex and love in the air.

Casey was sipping on the tea that has been served by the maids as she was looking at her cousins. The Quinnston was visiting from Fiktown as they were trying to plan the Tempest Ball with her.

And Casey could not agree more to be with her cousins more than ever.

"So, I heard that the Ashborne has finally descended from their bankruptcy. It would seem that Lord Ashborne was playing a dangerous game," Veronica said as she was looking around. Her eyes were shining when there were gossips around.

If I don't know any better, she could be one of the scandalmongers, Casey thought but she kept her mouth shut.

"But I thought they were peers of the realm?" Violette asked before Veronica was rolling her eyes at her sister.

"Well, yes. But when your father has done something that can make your reputation a question, it will all come to the connection that they have to keep them in the good grace with the polite society. Or else, the scandalmongers would—" Veronica did not finish it for she was shivering.

Casey knew what the scandalmongers were capable of. And it's a good thing that the rumored head of scandalmongers was her grandmother-in-law, Lady Ashley Flemington.

"But of course, I also heard that Lady Ashborne has secured marriages in hands for all of her daughters," Veronica continued before she smirked at them.

"Who was it?" Vanessa asked. Veronica arched her eyebrow.

"How should I know? It's not that I am one of the scandalmongers. And you know I would never tell anyone rumors if I don't hear it from the source itself," Veronica said before Casey was clearing her throat.

"Well, enough chit chat. We have so much to do before the Tempest Ball in one month. Shall we get started, cousins?" Casey said before they were talking and arguing about what will be the best choice for Tempest Ball, coming this long season.
