1 Signal Of A New Dawn

As her village quickly burns down to ashes, she silently looks at the village with a sense of hopelessness, grievance within her eyes. Without the power and courage to fight back against the onslaught of the raiders burning everything down with their might, what can the child do but run?

Indeed. Instead of fighting for naught, she chooses to flee through the field of grass as tears stream down her ash-covered face.

Even though it is cowardly and pathetic, it was the right decision to do so.

"What can you do if you're dead?" She murmured as she silently recalls the words of her mother's question.

At first, she thought that this was merely some nonsensical rambling but as she looks over at the smoke drift upwards from her burning village, she realizes that this question was something that cannot be questioned.

If you're dead, what can you do? Can you avenge your family and create an undying legendary reputation that is spread throughout the entire world? Can you do anything you want?

No. Your only option is to descend into eternal slumber, never again to be disturbed.

But even if she made the right decision to run, her morals and way of thinking were put into a trial of fate, into which whether she descends down into pure madness or become a lady with morals.

On one hand she wanted to kill those barbarians that burned her village and on the other hand, her morals said that avenging is not the way to release the spirits of the deceased from their prison but to silently pray about it and continue on with her life.

It was a conflicting decision with one that will lead her to madness and the other dragging her out from her insane thoughts about avenging her entire village.

If others would have a decision like this, they would instead choose to avenge their relatives, but for her...

She was different.

Instead of avenging, she silently prayed for her village as she was told by her mother not to avenge them while their village was burning down to ashes.

She followed her mother's final wish.

Even if it was foolish, it was her decision to do so.

Tired of running away, she dragged herself away from her village to some town she hasn't seen yet nor explored yet.

This is the first time she went to this town.

As she looks to the people and buildings within this town, she silently wipes off her teary eyes before looking above the fluttering clouds hanging in the blue sky.

"Mother, father, and everyone. I'm going to do my best and become something that you can look up upon and be proud of. I promise."
