2 Eastern Breeze, New Life

"Hey kid, why are you crying? Did you get lost while playing around?" Someone's voice resounded in Nagare's ears. It was the voice of a man.

"Ah." Nagare turns her head to the direction of the voice, revealing a man carrying a basket of fruits. "Yes, mister haha..." She continued while wiping her tears off from her ash-covered face.''

"Jeez." The man sighs as she sees the crying Nagare. "You should wipe your face with a clean cloth." He continued as he put the basket he's carrying down to the ground.

"Mister." Nagare looks at the man in front of him. "Do you know what place is this called?" She asks while smiling, revealing her dirty teeth.

In return, the man squints his eyes as he looks at Nagare with doubt. "You don't even know the name of this town?"

Quickly, Nagare scratches her head in return, giving off the impression of she doesn't know anything.

The man sighs as he looks at Nagare's naivety. In the eyes of the man before Nagare, the child before him is nothing but a naive child that was lost while playing around.

"Here." The man picks up a cloth from his pocket before giving it to Nagare. "Clean your face well." He continued as he picks up a fruit inside the basket.

"Ah! Thank you very much, mister!" Nagare bows before the man before taking the cloth away from the man's hand. After taking the cloth away, Nagare then gently wipes off her ash-covered face with it.

For a while, the man silently looks at Nagare while eating a fruit. Nagare, on the other hand, was gently wiping her face off, slowly revealing her fair skin.

"After you clean your face, go there." The man says at Nagare before pointing out his hands to some direction.

"Where..?" Nagare murmurs. She then looks at the man's hand pointing to something. "There?" She continued murmuring, slowly looking at the direction where the man pointed at.

The man was pointing at a building not far away from their direction.

"That's where I live." The man said to Nagare while smiling. "Beautiful, right?" He continued while slowly picking up the basket from the ground.

"Yes!" Nagare replied, smiling. In Nagare's mind, the building was indeed beautiful, with its roof completely covered with bricks and its walls covered with paintings.

It was simply too gorgeous and beautiful for a village girl like her.

"Listen. I got to hurry now." The man said as he walks away from Nagare. "Mother's gonna nag about me being lazy again so yeah, come meet me there, okay?" He continued, as he quickens up his pace.

"O-okay...?" Nagare tilts her head in return as she looks at the man awkwardly sprinting while carrying the basket filled with fruits.

While looking at the man, Nagare quickly lost interest as she did not know how manners or the way of walking work around here. Instead, she slowly turns her head around, revealing a plain with the winds slowly breezing across the field of grass.

As she looked at the fields before her, she felt a calm wind pass by, gently lifting up her hair.

"Mother, father... What can I do now that you two are gone...?" She murmurs as she silently grieves for her parents.
